how do you lose 2 thirds of your self?

:welcome: glad you enjoyed the read, i do tend to winge a bit cos i use it as my sounding board:eek:

feel free to join in, any and all advise, tips etc are greatly recieved and apprieciated .:D

Just catching up on all the diaries, you are doing so well and sound really positive, I could do with some of that need motivating again, after been off here for a few weeks can't get focus again. xxx

the stuffing worked really well Lily, hubby and teen ate it with no complaints even had seconds. doesn't taste anything like packet stuffing but really added to the dinner.

Have found a recipie for cous cous dumplings to try next, but have made ordinary ones today cos teen asked for them. have synned them and they work out to 4 syns each. hmmmmmmmmmmm looking forward to them xxx The cous cous ones would of been free:eek: so it will be them next time

Home rang me today to say auntie has a UTI as suspected funny how it effects them so badly isn't it

Mn will the dumplings be pushing the flour rule a bit? Be interested to here how they turn out :) Whatcha gonna have them with?

Glad the home did as you told them and that you were right, you're the boss :D

i actually agree about the flour thing with the dumplings cos it is replacing the flour, recipe is off here nobody has commented about the syn value.
To be honest i used a packet of dumpling mix tonight worked out the syns for the packet and divided it by the no i made.
worked out to 4 each and i have had 2 :eek:
only syns i have had today so not worried .

did wonder about making the couscous ones when i make the tagine at the weekend, i would serve it with couscous anyway so they would be syn free in that circumstance don't you think.

gosh it can be confusing cant it:rolleyes::confused:

keeps me occupied thougth :D

you know the flour rule, well this is my thought on it and its what I stick to :D

IF its used as a snack, ie between meals, ie cous cous cake, that kind of thing syn it

IF its used as a part of your main meal I would say free

My reason behind this is you will stop when full when eating the meal, or at least limit it, ie you woudln't sit and scoff 10 cous cous dumplings

but

you might eat a whole cous cous cake

food diary for today

B banana

L lentil and bacon soup, 6 wholegrain crackerbreads lean pork loin, grapes. (hexa and b)

T chicken stew, containing carrot swede turnip onion celery bns pearl barley green and yellow split peas and red lentils:D
2 herb dumplings (8 syns)

S grapes, greek % yog

intended to have breakfast after walking the dog this am but when i got in i got side tracked and didn't get round to it !!!!

still avoiding potatoes rice and pasta, but the increased grains and pulses are really filling

teen says i am ruining his social life by feeding him so many beans :eek::8855::8855:

I likes this rule Jackie - good one to go by methinks :D So I guess the dumplings should be okay!

oooh, watch it with that breakfast or we'll have to get the stick out on ya lol

If he means it sincerely I guess it's time for him to start making his own food... then again knowing lads is he just using your cooking as an excuse? :p

well another counselling session completed, strange one today as i arrived mid panic and demonstrated just how anxious i get.!! wasn't planned that way:confused:
For some reason on the way there i decided i had got the day wrong and didn't have an appointment  got really worked up and was hyperventilating by the time i got there and confirmed i had an appointment:rolleyes:
i had tried to ring but couldn't get througth and hubby wouldn't let me just not go he insisted i had to go find out:mad:
hated him for a couple of minutes.
we talked througth the reason i had paniced and again it comes down to my belief i am a failure.
If i had got the appointment wrong it would have proved that and i didn't want to prove it :confused:
We discussed work in depth today and faced a few things that yet again i was hiding from. despite having done my job since i was 18, i simpley don't feel good enougth. When i got my promotion in jan one of the people who also applied was very bitter about not getting it and has set about proving they made a mistake. I have allowed her to undermine me because i am sure she is right:confused::eek:

As i am sure it is for a lot of people work has become increasingly stressfull as we try to offer a better service with less staff and less time. this has created a very negative and demorilised workforce. I have immedietly felt that this is my fault and that i needed to redress it. of course its not my fault but that little voice in my head is a pain in the a***.

My challenges this week there are two ! The first is to challage my negative thoughts and i have a thought diary to complete i have to show the evidence to back up my thought.
the second goes back to our session last week as i have still not talked to hubby, probably because i am scared of the consequences. My counseller has suggested i write him a letter so i can get it all out in one go.
I have a week off now as my counseller is on holiday next week so i have plenty of time to do it:eek:

councelling sessions always trigger of my urge to eat, probably because they make me so emotional. struggling today but have yet to slip up, i have eaten lots of fruit :D
hopefully i won't repeat last weeks lapse,
if nothing else all the prunes are in the tagine i have made for tea:D:D

i think he is referring to the effects it has, apparently its a bit windy in our house
and he is having to hold it in :8855::8855:

cos he is older the rule in our house is, if you aren't eating what i am cooking then you can cook your, own 9 times out of 10 he eats with us:D

Re the prunes.... bless you :8855:And I was thinking lads tend to be windy anyway, since it's oh so funny lol

Pretty heavy stuff every week with the counselling huh :hug99: The bitter person at work sounds horrible, I hope you won't let them belittle you anymore when you're ready to go back.

Thought diary and letter sounds good, taking your time over the letter in particular sounds sensible too and it'll open up the way for talking about things :)

Fruit is good and lots of water - have a big portion of tea too, don't go too far towards hungry when you're feeling vulnerable to bingeing x

ok meals for today, had to make a change to the plan as the sausage shop was closed :eek: have to wait till fri now for the hugarian sausage and bean casserole

B 0% greek yog with honey x1 weetabix crumbled into it and pomegranite seeds (5syns)

L prawns, peppers, onions, courgette and baby tomatoes marinaded in chilli, garlic,
coriander and soy sauce then actifried
(very yummy) mango

T beef and prune tagine with couscous (2.5 syns and hexb)

S grapes ( lots of them to prevent any damaging picking !)

lo i hope that breakfast meets with your approval:D knew you wouldn't be impressed with yesterdays:8855:

used slow cooker for tagine so its bubbling away, smells lovely.
looked at a few recipes and have then just winged it syns are for the morrocan tagine paste i have used hexb for the prunes, hence synning the weetabix.

i will list the recipe if anybody wants it :D

Now that is a really goood idea about writting a letter. That way you can alter the wording to get it just right and I'd also get really emotional trying to explain it in words.

I was just thinking about writting things down for my hubbie but I don't think he'd be happy if I gave him a book :8855:
Seriously though I might start writting things down and then take it from there.

i actually like the idea of writing it down too tilly, cos like you say i can get the wording right and not say the wrong thing in the heat of the moment.
Once i start getting upset i get irrational and it needs to be an adult conversation.
I don't want him to feel i am blaming him for everything but i also need him to take responsibility for what he needs to if that makes sense:confused:

i suspect writing it could get emotional too, but then i find writing on here thereputic so maybe it will have the same effect.

He will probably write one back and we will start communicating in this way:eek:
certainly make for a quite life thougth:D

:8855: You know me too well. My eyes widened at this morning's breakfast - much better and an interesting mix :D So aye, big thumbs up, no stick for you today :8855:

I'll take the tagine recipe please - how did it rate? Less complaints from the son tonight? :D

Teen wouldn't even try it !! cos off the prunes :8855:
said it was a step to far :D

It was actually really nice and will be on the menu again:D

you know me simple cook no faffing about:eek: so it is really easy

recipe :

1 onion
1 lb beef, (i used costco stewing beef cos it is really good quality)
1/2 jar of morrocen tagine paste ( got this from sainsburys) 7.5 syns
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 tin mushrooms
1 tin of chick peas
200g prunes hex b
half pack of pomegranite seeds
coriander to garnish

dry fry beef and onion add tagine paste
cook for several minutes to release spices and seal meat.
transfer to slow cooker
add small amount of water to pan with a beef stock cube (this collects up all the left over spice and forms the stock)
put tomatoes, chick peas, mushrooms, pomegranite seeds and prunes in slow cooker
add as much stock as you like (personal taste as to how thick you want your sauce)
cook on high for 4 hrs turn down to low and cook for futher 2 hours (again personal preferance this made the meat melt in your mouth)
serve with couscous garnished with freash coriander

served 4 comfortably so syns probably lower than i counted

Sounds lovely, though I'm scared of pomegranite seeds lol Do you have to keep spitting them out?

Will look for the paste next time I'm in sainsburys :)

Hope you have a good day - though it was regarding a sad topic on Jackie's diary, I was really happy and impressed reading your posts. The real you is a no nonsense tough cookie :D

Mandy
In haste I am also putting this comment in your diary as well as mine as its important :D

Its funny how these things work but then I believe in so much and fate being a biggy, or things happening for a reason, or good coming out of something bad.

But one thing I will say while I think about it is this sweetheart, despite what you think, despite how you feel sometimes the true you shines through regularly. You have an amazing character, and I know I don't 'know' you but I often feel I do, and to be able to do that that person has to have opened up etc which you often do. You are an amazing woman and one I am so lucky to have as a friend

Basically you may think you come across whingey etc etc but I don't see that as I am sure others don't either, we see, feel , sense the real Mandy and shes fabby :D
xxxxx

yep the real me definetly reared her head yesterday, partly following the counselling session.
I am passionate about patient care, and feel that nursing is losing its way becoming more and more bogged down in legislation and litigation.

Jackies family should not have to accept poor levels of care what ever the reason.
I have nursed since i was 18 ( 5 yr break when lived in germany but childminded during that time) I think since the drive to become an all degree profession started people sometimes become nurses for the wrong reasons:eek:

You work in the public sector lo (i think:confused:) so you must see hoe demorilised the workforce is, but our pts/clients should not suffer because of thatxx

Ok climb off the hobby horse :D

I am in a giddy mood today for some reason today :D
bit of a bummer really cos home alone
have to annoy the dog:D

Hubby walked her this morning while i hoovered so i have just decided to get dance star out and covort around the living room for an hour:D:eek:
that should cure the giddyness :8855:

Then i am going to make pumpkin soup, combining several recipes it will have a small syn value cos i am going to add sherry !!!!!!:eek:

I love sherry and i found a pumpkin soup recipe using it 50mls is 3 syns so thats what i will add usually soup makes at least 4 portions so probably just call it 1 syn.
Its for lunch tomorrow but thougt i'd make it today.
then i need to start using up all the soup i have in the freezer
so i can make more :D

will post food diary later once i have finished covorting :D
