How to lose half your body weight in 10 days (Or a bit longer!)

We've got a giant toblarone waiting to be wrapped too - it's killing me!

Problem is that once you get into the habit of eating chocolate and snacks again it's a hard habit to break! :( I'm craving chocolate like never before after the m&s choccie biccies at work!

Oh the habit I meant was the sw habits, using frylight, cutting off fat, having 1/3rd superfree.

Got quite a few jobs to do today. The fish and birds are done, as is the biryani marinade and the soup is bubbling downstairs. Just putting Nate down for a nap (before I kill him) then it is taking out rubbish, recycling, yet more laundry, washing up, washing glasses for decorations, baking the 2nd half of the ginger bread mix and decorating them all, making the fig, red wine and honey cake, making sw mince pies and making the biryani. I think I will live in the kitchen. So long as the biryani is made before my brother gets here it is ok, he doesn't know there's mushrooms and courgette in it, he doesn't like either but wolfs this down. If he finds out he'll refuse to eat it, I will kill him and then I will have to dig a big hole for him, and despite it being good cost magic I don't have the time!

SW Biryani recipe

Serves 4
Free on Extra Easy (i.e. no naughty stuff!)

Marinade:
4 Garlic Cloves, Finely Chopped
1cm Piece Fresh Root Ginger, Peeled and Finely Grated
150g Fat-Free Natural Yogurt
A Handful of Fresh Coriander Leaves, Finely chopped

Sauce:
A Chicken, Jointed
1 Onion, Finely Chopped
2 tbsp Curry Powder
400g Can Chopped Tomatoes
300 Spinach Leaves, fresh or frozen
Salt and Pepper
3 tbsp skimmed milk, warmed
2 tbsp saffron
1/4 tsp Tumeric

Rice:
1 Onion, Finely Sliced
2 tsp Cumin Seeds
6 Cloves
10 Black Pepper Corns
6 Cardamon pods, crushed
1 Cinnamon Stick
300g Dried Basmati Rice
650ml Chicken Stock

1 Onion, finely sliced, on a mandalin if possible.
1. Mix the marinade ingredients together and rub into the chicken. Cover in cling film and leave to marinate in the fridge for 4-6 hours, or overnight if possible.
2.Spray a pan with Fry Light over a medium-low heat. Add onion and cook for 12-15 minutes. Turn the heat to high, add the chicken and cook for 2-3 minutes.
3. Stir in the curry powder, tomatoes and spinach. Season and bring to the boil. Then simmer for 15-20 minutes. Cover and set aside.
4. Pre-heat oven to 180C/GM4. Put milk, saffron and turmeric in a cup and set aside. Spray a pan with fry light on a medium heat. Add onion and spices under "rice" and stir fry for 2-3 minutes. Add rice and stir fry for another 2 minutes. Add stock, bring to the boil, place on the lid, then simmer for 7-8 minutes. Turn off the heat, leave on the lid.
5. Spray a frying pan with fry light. Fry the onions until dark brown and crispy (NOT BURNED)
6. Spray a casserole dish with fry light. Spread half the chicken mixture on the base, top with half the rice, repeat, top with onions. Pour milk mixture on the top and place on the lid.
7. Bake for 30 minutes and rest for 15-20 minutes, then serve!

The difference I make is sometimes I add in loads of veg, courgette, mushrooms, peppers etc, the spinach I use is just the frozen stuff (cheaper and easier) and sometimes I swap the chicken for lamb. yummo.

Merry Christmas. Xxx

Just thought I'd look at todays food.

B: satsuma, banana, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with toast (heb) and butter
S:n nothing
L: turkey, 3 pigs in blankets, 2 frylight roast potatoes, 3 parsnip batons with polenta and parmesan crumb), sprouts, carrots, red cabbage, small bit of stuffing (2 level tbsp) potato and celeriac mash (sw way), 3 level tbsp cranberry sauce. No gravy or bread sauce. Mum's Xmas pud, which is much lighter than normal ones, and in individual ramekins. No cream etc, I had half of mine, my son had the other half.
S: 4 mini animal biscuits and dairy milk (10 syns)

Syn drinks have been 2 small wine glasses of grape juice (not wine) and 2 flutes of bucks fizz.

My brother had TWO dinners, each one bigger than mine!

Fran you sound like you have had a controlled but fab day hun. Well done im sure it will pay off. Ive kept my drink to the minimum today and been on pepsi max since 6pm while others drank lager and spirits.

Lunch was cooked for me but was quite healthy, starter melon with a slice of parma ham, lots of veg and lean meat with 2 small yorkie pudds and a small amount of gravy, followed by a small slice of profiterole gateaux. Teatime wasnt so good with all buffet food, so back on it tomorrow and WI on thurs

Forgot to add prawn cocktail. All free/superfree except the sauce, which was tomato ketchup and lighter than light helmans mayo, so not too bad. And 4 chocolate biscuits.

It wasn't controlled really, I just popped on what i wanted. I'm not much of a drinker anyway, and I don't like gravy or cream so that cuts out a lot. And we cook everything with frylight rather than fat now. I did ignore my "i'm full" alert. Didn't have any of the cheese and crackers else I'd have been sick!

Mmm melon. Buffets are killers. I'm doing a sw buffet for new years, I'm looking forward to it.

I decided I'm just having what I want when I want it. Some sw things are so engrained though, so mostly it is just extra syns with everything else being fine. No evening meal, not needed! Might have a couple more biscuits when I finish my knitting :)

I hate not being in control of whats being cooked lol. It was my daughters MIL cooking and she does WW so I can only assume it was all cooked healthily, as it was all in the hostess trolley thing when we got there.

Nothing more planned now so should be ok going into the new year

Oh, hopefully it was ok.

I have my nieces coming boxing day, leaving the next day then the next day (friday) is weigh in and my birthday. I'm surprisingly relaxed about gaining. If I don't enjoy myself then i will resent sw and screw up. I don't go for nights out or anything so it isn't a regular thing. Just got to be careful I don't do what others in my group do which is faff around with their xmas gain, lose it by Easter, then gain at Easter and not lose it until Xmas. Easter I lost weight, I didn't have an Easter egg or anything and the meal was sw friendly. Looking forward to Xmas dinner sandwich tomorrow!

Well I gained 5.5lbs, I was expecting more, I have felt so sick for those days though. I realised a few things too. Eating beyond being full... to feeling sick, doing it to quash feeling things. Eating crap really did make me feel crap, not guilty or anything, but it made me more tired, and sluggish and despite it making me feel ill I still wanted to pick at things and eat more. Eating a small amount of naughtiness didn't make me feel like this at all. I couldn't wait to get to get back on plan on Saturday. Starting to feel less tired, and bloated!

I have my new pack, it's very pretty, and has a couple of food diaries in there too, so I've been filling my paper one out to keep me 100%

Saturday: GREEN
b: porridge (35g oats, 250ml semi skimmed milk also for tea), Pear
l: courgette frittata (courgette, onion, mushrooms, new potatoes, egg, mint) with mixed salad fat free dressing tomatoes and a couple of chips (frylighted)
s: yogurt, banana
d: rice, easy bean chili (tinned tomatoes, cumin, paprika, mixed beans, black eye beans, onion, mushrooms, chili, stock, green peppers, celery) with mix salad leaves and fat free dressing.
s: 2 hifi light bars (2nd heb), yogurt, 2 satsumas, flake (7 syns)

Today so far has been...
B: Fruit salad, yogurt
L: ham, egg, bubble and squeak (left over mashed potato, and sprouts) 1 syn of brown sauce

Still SOOO HUNGRY so I might go hunt out more food. Dinner is glazed ginger pork which will hopefully be nice.

Oh, I know it'll be coming back off again. A woman in my group gained 8lbs. I think I may gain again this week because I was still splurging on Friday after weigh in and my next weigh is Wednesday morning so there's only going to be 4 days of being good to get Friday's scoff-a-thon off, never mind thinking about that gain. Hoping it'll be gone by February. Mum will be back on plan again in the new year too, or so she says, which will help, but dad's a bugger for tempting her. She says she has only gain 1.5lbs, but I know her scales are 4lbs out from groups. I will be glad when they've stopped constantly munching in front of me. Crackers with butter and cheese, various nuts, chocolate, mince pies etc etc.

I got some more new clothes today. mum and I have made a pact for no new clothes in January (bar underwear essentials) hoping to get her to agree to a 100% month too but we will see. Her birthday is at the start of February and she is going away so she might agree to it. We'll see.

ive just threw a load into charity bags good luck on your pact!!! mine is to see more of my friends in jan... i always cancel things but i want to change it
i know im so glad im back on my own so i cant see anyone else eating hehe
so far today has been ok and i intend to keep it that way :D
xx

Ah good idea. I'm keeping some pieces to get adjusted, some stuff is bagged up for the rag man (ain't no one going to want to buy some of my old stuff!) mum bagged up her stuff and put it with mine but now she isn't sure so I am waiting for her to go through her stuff again. I told her it was a rag man, but what I tell her means nothing because she doesn't bloody listen, so after the umpteenth time she realises that it's being sent off for rags so then she was unsure but her stuff is still there. SO annoying.

After lunch I was still hungry so I had a slice of frittata from yesterday (hurrah left overs), a yogurt and a satsuma.
Dinner was sw chips, carrots, broccoli, and the ginger pork (1/2 a syn for the honey) and it was tasty. Just going to have 2 hifi light bars (heb) and a flake (7 syns)
8.5 syns for the day is fine. Just had a look and I'm another 1.5lb up so we shall see!

the charity shop i go to has that rag man thing (dont really know much about it) lol so i just throw it all in together and they can decide what they want to sell... im thinking of volunteering in the roy castle lung cancer charity shop up the road from me i used to.. but then work got in the way
so might ask tomo :) xx

that frittata sounds nice might have to try it :D xx
