I am gonna lose it!

Hi Paula, I am so determined to lose the weight that I have piled up in the last years, it's just so frustrating that all the nice clothes you see in shops only go till a size 16 and I'm a size 18/20 (need tops in 20 as I have big boobs and I hate shirts that are too tight). I am desparate to get back into a size 10/12 so hopefully I can manage to do that. I've tried several diets and lost a few pounds but they always appearead back on my body again. I'm intending either to do the maintenance one but need to read about that or follow WW guidelines and meals but not sure yet. How are you coping this first week? x

Thanks for asking, actually seemed to manage week 1 pretty well. I've surprised myself and those around me with my determination this time, I've normally cheated well before now, I feel strong, positive and excited about what the future holds! Don't get me wrong, I've had tough days but looking forward to just getting on with it and I have no intention of stopping because I never want to do this again :giggle:

I know what you mean about clothes shopping I'm a 26 on top and 24 on bottom and I don't buy clothes so I can look nice because I don't look nice in anything! I just buy things which cover me up. I absolutely cannot wait to walk into any shop and pick up a size 10/12 and it fitting! I know that's a long way off but the thought of it is keeping me going. Baby steps at the moment, and won't be buying any new clothes until I can buy them from "normal" shops. I'm going to survive with 2nd hand cast offs from ebay til then! :yuk:

All the best for week 2

x

I can so relate to you too Paula! As I run my own business I have these business award dinners to go to and I don't want to cos I - just like you - feel that I don't look good in anything! I never wanna do this again too but am a bit scared that I will put weight on as I simply just love food :D
You too all the best for week 2 xx

I'm hoping that this break from food is going to help me focus on proper foods when I get back on it. I'm shocked that my cravings have been for healthy, nutritious foods on this rather than chocolate or junk.

We're re-training our brains, and we're going to be able to eat whatever we want in the future because what we'll want is nutritious foods! Well here's hoping anyway! lol Lets use this time to change our ways :)

x

I so understand what you two are talking about, I crave the healthy stuff now, when I think of - say a takeaway - now I just think of fat automatically. I am a greedy person by nature and always will be but I think I can retrain myself and do this longterm, its no point losing such great amounts of weight and then not having the mindset to see it through. Say it with me now "I will quit this cycle of yo-yo dieting"!!!! haha x

Sorry, I envisioned myself as one of those evangelical preachers then, are you sure these shakes don't have happy pills in them........

I will quit this cycle of yo-yo dieting! :D
Although a nice Calabrese pizza from Pizza Express is on the cards when I've been refeeding ;-)

Haha! "like" I will quit this cycle of yo yo dieting!!!

I know exactly what you mean! Have you READ some of my posts? Happy pills or what?! it must be getting on everyone's nerves by now lol :D

xx

Nah, you're fine Paula, am sure you're not getting on anyone's nerves! :)
I like happy pills, always take them when I have a migraine lol

Have been clearing out the fridge as there was still some food in there that needed to be discarded. Had no problem getting rid of it all, except for my cheese...... I always buy a lot of cheese when I'm back in Holland cos Dutch cheese is the bestest in the whole wide world so when I took it out of the fridge, I grabbed my cheese slicer and sliced myself a teeny weeny slice just for the taste. Ate it and threw away the rest of the cheese. Don't feel guilty as it was only 1square cm so I'll doubt it will knock me out of ketosis.

I LOVE CHEEESSEEE every type of cheese... apart from blue cheese..but other than that i will eat all types of cheese... on its own with crackers... nom nom nom......

anyway..:) at least you threw it out! i wouldnt have been able to,, i would have kept on eating away at it!

Glad youre doing ok :) X

I was tempted Pudge if it was a good cheese but it tasted a bit bland, weird if you consider it came from a cheese shop and not the supermarket.

How about a 4-cheese toastie or a 4-cheese pizza with fresh garlic?

Will you lot please stop torturing yourselves......it doesn't help, honestly!

i had to wipe up all the droooooolllllll from my lap ..:D lol..... nothing better than that apart from a 4 cheese and chicken satay pizza! gosh no wonder im on a nutritional correction lol!...... i will dream of cheese now :)...also...how about those amazing brie in breadcrumbs with cranberry sauce....or brie on digestives... i need to stop! x

it doesnt help im watching come dine with me..lol well at least the foods on the telly and not on my table! x

I'm not torturing myself Sandra, I'm only daydreaming of cheese :) x

I'm not too fond of brie in breadcrumbs but I agree that it's better to watch food on tv than on your table x

If you get a chance Mirjam (and pudge), check out a program called "10 things you need to know about losing weight" on BBC iPlayer (only a few days left) it was on TV last week and there is a very interesting section about cheese and its good news for when you're eating again. x

Thanks for the tip Paula, I will look it up rite now! x
