IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

My Jo - glad you had a good weekend, and that you are ok about things. We have found another house in Paris.

Holiday Rentals House Fontenay sous bois 8 persons with Terrace sight on garden - France

I have holding off my WI until tomorrow in the vague hope of a loss:D It is so frustrating because whilst I sometimes eat a lot I never deviate - but I guess it either will or won't come off eventually, and I am happy eating this way at the moment, so all good really. Just about to eat some bizarre cauli creation that I found on the internet!!

oooh Mouse - have you booked that one? Looks nice. I noticed "cauli rosti" in your menu.

That's amazing cos I too fell upon that story this morning, smiled, and then saw the date on it. 2006? How is it up there with the interesting things to read?!!

Parisians rude? I blame the tourists!

Hello gorgeous creature :D MWAH!
1/2 hour until my restaurant lunch with my boss... I'll post you the link afterwards (but would sooner 100s of internet weirdos don't turn up so won't post it beforehand! haa!).

This morning, someone (female) was staring at me on the metro (which I took for the first time this year to work as it was pouring down!). I caught her eye a couple of times. I edged towards her casually, as you do(!), and said "do I know you?" (in French). She was embarrassed and tried to disappear into the crowd.

I wonder if she's seen my pics on internet - or just fancied me / thought my nose was big or something!!

I thought it was just a French female thing to do. Whenever I travelled on the Metro, I always found that French women would look me up and down and do the same to other females there. They seemed so much bolder about it than on the Tube over here. I think they're possibly sizing up outfits and accessories. Whatever the case, it can feel a bit disconcerting at first.

She was just admiring your outfit and figure I'm sure! And is now wondering the same about you - are you going to be stalking her, so she ran ;-)

Probably trying to work out how she could get your figure/trying to remember in which shop she saw your scarf/coat/top/wondering where you work and in which job, etc/thinking you look like someone she once saw, etc.

I just used to spend my travelling (bus and metro) staring into space or reading and didn't do much people watching. But, yes, my friends here especially are much more observant.

Jo what with this and your comments maybe she thought you were a ladylover?? ;) xxxxxxxxxxxx

How brave of you to ask her..i wouldnt have dared ;)

Jo that place looks amazing..what for dessert ?

millefeuille aux fraises

Still - could have been worse. I "lost" my boss and the trainee on the walk back to the office, feigning a sudden desire to go to the chemist, and tried to buy myself more food. Thankfully the queues were too long at both the takeout near the office and the baker's, so I reluctantly returned here empty handed!

Morning!! The cauliflower rosti - well I didn't know what else to call it and it reminded me of rosti a bit!!

I took approx 4 handfuls of cooked cauli and mashed, added 2 tbspns oatbran and some herbs and seasoning and then 2 eggs, and mixed together. then spread it fairly thinly onto a silicon baking sheet and baked until crispy. It was pretty nice (but huge) and reminded me a little of rosti. Of course some small 'cakes' would have been far more practical and I'm not sure if I needed the bran in there at all or not?

Phew lucky escape! Please don't try that again!
Looks like a gorgeous lunch (shame about the potential side-effects) - makes me want to come over.

I hope you will Anja ;)
Fortunately I got through the evening unscathed, and am deliberately wearing (slightly tighter) cream trousers today. The darker coloured (ok for rainy weather) items of my wardrobe are looser which don't serve as enough of a reminder.

I must now remember that I'm not in ketosis so "could" go and buy an apple rather than "something else".

I've lunch out again today but at a safe Dukan place - where I went with Tan - so salmon + veggies (plus extra piece of salmon snuck in from my handbag!) and fat free fromage blanc for pud :D

Feeling positive too...

Mouse - thanks for sharing. I alas have no room for any more oatbran recipes! Already your victoria sandwich + quark calls me more often than it ought given my penchant for muffins!

Oh and I defrosted my freezer last night. LOADS more space now and found some "interesting" little packages. Hmm...

Morning Jo. I have some more cauli in the oven for breakfast this morning, minus the oatbran. I wasn't sure it added anything to the recipe so in the interest of cake eating, I am trying without. Watch this space.

I WI this morning and I am -1 Hooray!

Hopefully that house is 'on' just need to sort a couple of things out with them.

Good news on the cauli, the oatbran didn't add anything to the party - it tasted just the same without!!
