IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

I swear the closure of M&S in Paris helped my original weight loss! Could never make it out of there without a tonne of goodies!!!

He's in DOVER! YAY! He says the worst bit was Dover --> South Coast last night... he's a happy bunny, having had a full English, fish and chips to come on the boat tonight, and he'll wake me up at about 1am when he gets back!!

Paris is very cold... but no snow... :)

Mind you, there's something I have here that you don't have any more (my sister is very jealous)... C&A! Can I be bothered to go and check it out tonight? hmm... Christmas market outside it too...

ooh christmas market sounds nice Jo...I love all the sights, sounds, smells, not so good for the waistline though...

god I wish it was just cold here... :) x

Ah yes C&A... I NEED one for Kids clothing! NOW... Oh and achirstmas market would be nice to get in the mood! Must get the decorations out - this is the latest I've ever left it.

Anyway glad to hear your OH managed to get out of the country - or nearly - in one piece!

Oh and I just started a Slow cooking thread in recipes!

Jaqys re M&S: add to that German women buying stockpiles of plain bras (my sister...)

Anja - thanks a million... will be consulting avidly from work.
Sarah - minus 9°C last night, brr... lovely overheated flat :)

Man home at 11.30pm, happy but tired. 27hrs round trip away (without sleep obviously). For him, worst part was Dover --> Portsmouth. Ironically, in France where there was but a sprinkling on the Calais/Paris motorway, he got stuck behind a "snow plough" (and you're not allowed to overtake them). (A WHAT I can hear you asking!! haaa!)

He said it was far colder here too (on car thermometer). Perhaps it's that which has "saved" us from snow around here? Anyway off to the house as usual tonight so we'll see how it is in the "frozen East" as the weather forecasters called it (minus 13°C last night).

Weigh in - plus 800G on last Friday which is excellent! honestly! I gained about 4K - lovely water gain - and am pleased to have got through two evenings "alone", my usual weak moments!

Vicky - good luck!! I presume first carb meal brings you out of ketosis, and so can you then eat a little more veg or something? Cos Atkins, while allowing you veg each meal, does restrict you to certain veg only and small quantity I think...?
yes certain veg same as dukan. I do miss sweetcorn so may add that in once in a while. oh and peas.
Yes meal tonight should take me out of ketosis. will see tomorrow with the sticks eh? tomorrow will be the hard part i think. planning on carrying on the way I have for the rest of the week just adding nuts, more veg and 2 treat meals per week. see how that goes? wish me luck!!!

glad OH got back ok - its awful today here -12 right now!

Crikey - and I certainly realise that I don't have the "right clothes" here in the city for this sort of weather... (having said that, I'm HOT at the moment in my jeans + sweater - Friday office gear!!). At the country place, I have thermal all sorts of things but never need them here! It's due to come to an end Sunday here I think...

What are you having tonight for bf's birthday celebration?

Morning Jo. nice weekend?

Hello there, yes... always nice to be off work...

Didn't do anything spectacular (got on with my present wrapping; sorted clothes out for holiday; took up some hems; did some knitting, cooking... NO housework tee hee)... visited neighbour... had siestas in front of the fire... lovely!

Sounds like my weekend!

Didn't do anything spectacular (got on with my present wrapping; sorted clothes out for holiday; took up some hems; did some knitting, cooking... NO housework tee hee)... visited neighbour... had siestas in front of the fire... lovely!

Did not yet wrap any presents but did lots more baking, plenty of cooking, sorted through clothes (sniff what am I going to do about my lovely clothes that are to big now, some you just can't take in - I don't want new ones, I want these they are *me*), knitting, singing, definitely NO HOUSEWORK (what's that?). Put up some christmas decorations. I think we should get our tree next weekend.
No siestas, though they are desperately needed - it's too late AGAIN!
