IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

Morning lovely Vicky, and how are you today?

Have you noticed how I'm less vocal around here, particularly in my own diary, when all is "going well"! My "voices" are quiet, and I'm sticking to what I've said I will, and have ONE treat to look forward to at the Christmas market Friday night! (Dunno what it'll be yet - will walk through, sucking a sugar free sweet, to avoid succumbing at the first stall as I did last year!!)

City weekend coming up...

Oh Jo bet the market is fab :) what sort of things can you buy? and what do YOU buy?

im ok ish feeling a bit low at the moment this weather is doing my head in!

Yeah re the weather - I just asked on your diary how the weather is up your way. I guess you're just gonna have to move south!

hmm... there's all sorts of rubbish like waffles, crepes, doughnuts, etc. but also usually (not been yet this year to say) stalls selling traditional Christmas things from various other countries. Bought some maple syrup last year, for instance, from the Canadian place. Admired all the expensive WARM slippers, gloves etc but out of my price range. There are vendors selling HOT chestnuts everywhere... err hot drinks... cinammon everything... takeway food from Alsace (cheesey things - you'd like that. Big vats of cheesey things! ho ho I'm no good at German sounding names... Anja might be able to help me out here...). The market's is pretty long this year, running from Concorde to the Rond Point of the Champs Elysées on both sides of the road...

I love xmas markets , used to love going to the ones in |Belgium with my nan .......the smells were out of this world

oh Jo can you take some pics :) oh mmm crepes and cheesy things sound good. Wont your lovely OH buy you some slippers?

I think the other half will have his camera with him cos he wants to get photos of the lights too... not an easy feat unless you dare stand in the middle of the Champs with three lanes of traffic whizzing past you on either side!

Yes he probably would, but I'm the sort of person who'd tell him to hang onto his money (or put it in the pot for the next fuel bill in the country! haaaa!)

aww. any idea what you will be getting for xmas? i sent bf a list on text last night it was very long and very funny.

Christmas market sounds fab!

We will be venturing out on Sunday to get our dose of festivity! (Not coming to Paris though;)).

Shame Robin! I'd love to meet you!!

For Christmas, we're going to go shopping together in England... but he's responsible for the "red dress" I believe (my sister and he are cooking something up I know...). He wanted to get me some pearls to go with the dress, but I said that was a total waste of money and that I didn't want them! I'm far too practical - Taurean you see!

OH A PEARL NECKLACE ;) what about a pair of red shoes maybe? i bet its jewellery. exciting :)

hmm... a red dress... I have a red coat... (probably not the same "red" even...) so I think red shoes would be a little too much! Perhaps a bow on my head too?! I'm going to accessories the red dress with black (cos it's easier as I'll have black bag, shoes (and hair bow!) with me anyway!!).

I won't get pearls now... cos I poohooed his idea so I won't get anything... (He tells me that the Dyson is my Christmas present...)

What have you asked for?

Oh id love a dyson for xmas. Lol yes red ribbon in your hair and shoes might be a bit too much? maybe a santa hat! LOL

ive asked for new taps, plugs for bathroom and shower mending and bath regrouting and new flooring. new flooring throughout the house, gutters and fascias mended. whole house redecorating, garden landscaped, conservatory, 2 cds, prof layton ds game, i pod, lipo, boob job and bum job :)
he said 'ill see what i can do for my princess' LOL!

Can you imagine if he took you literally and bought you some spanking new shiney... guttering! I'd kill him!!

Mind you, in the past, we have bought something "for each other" for the house and not taken it to England for the day and just bought a token for under the tree. Needs must and all that!

The days of spending multi £s on useless pampering gifts are behind me. I need practical things more!!

Exactly id prefer my bathroom to be sorted other than anything. oh and new internal lounge /dining room doors with wood at the bottom instead of glass all the way to prevent dog snot! i hate getting gifts that are just pointless. My mum has bought me stuff i wanted/needed dressing gown/cardigown new knife set oh and a folding chopping board which I really do need ;)

Ha, the joys of being a homeowner.

People were outraged when I told them my husband had bought me an electric sander one birthday:D. They'd be more outraged now if they knew that we rarely bother buying each other anything for birthdays (and precious little for Christmas).

Pampering is good though! But I'd still rather have the practical any day.

Yes me too :) a sander LOL!
I know people in Barnsley who even gave the same card every year! just put it back in the loft with the decs :D great idea LOL

We have never exchanged cards (unless they were an extra with a voucher, or something). They're not really sent in France which suits me fine.

Bah humbug:p.

Lol thats brill Laura. It seems daft when you live in the same house !
