IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

You know what? I think we've grown up! waaaaah!

My Dad and grandmother give me money, and it's waiting in my bedroom for me, so I can blow that on rubbish (aka clothes)... but, like you and yours Robin, we often get "something for the house" for birthdays - as we're both Taureans, so our birthdays are close together...

Cards for people I'm spending Christmas with annoy me. Cost a fortune and we're with them anyway - but my family were horrified when I suggested we forgot them!

lol at cards im the cards scrooge queen I made oh buy me a birthday card this year from the tesco value range , he usually spends a fiver on a card I said dont you dare ....cant stand them

I dont do cards at all anymore. I really dont see the point.

I've asked for a few kitchen things and books, I dont want stuff that takes up room, I'll get theatre tokens too which I love.
I do like not having a man to buy for (and love not having to shop for his mother).

Dont see anything wrong with practical as long as its wanted, its when you want/need pampering that its an issue.

ive just sent a lovely e card out to our suppliers at work :) i found one with a mini wire dachshund on :)

Wow a folding chopping board - never heard of it - nor a cardigown - although that sounds up my street!

I would rather not get anything at all than have people wasting money on things I don't really want, so I point my parents and OH in the direction of my Amazon wish list. Mysteriously three parecels have arrived here in the last two days for OH - only one from Amazon. One is from a place called ginger interiors - I have had a look at their site - I do hope he hasn't bought me a decorative buddah because it reminds him of me:D

I bet you used to examine your parcels under the tree intently before "the day" Mouse! Fancy checking the website!! (Great idea - wouldn't have thought of it myself...). I admit to having a "laughing fat buddah" on my chimney in the country cos it makes me smile back each time I see it!

I've got a dustpan that looks just like that! haaaaa!

Morning ladies - took me a while to get here this morning (not cos of snow either... just lots of work...) so now I will chew. Bon appetit!

Lol Jo :)
Enjoy your lunch Jo - ive just had amazing roasted salmon with sweet chilli!!!!

Morning Jo - I have just had some boring old chicken legs, all eaten with a very interested kitty on my shoulder!

Hi Jo,

oh yes Christmas Markets - enjoy!!! Now that's one thing I really miss. I know there's some in London, Ediburgh, Nottingham, Lincoln so I *could* make the effort and go somewhere, but I never manage of course. And even though most stalls are originated from Germany (I think they export 'Christmas Market Kits' with traders and all!) it NOT QUITE the same of course. Ahh fond memories of school trips to the Aachen Christmas Market as a 12-year old! There was an educational element in the visit to Aaachen too - honest!

After our Christmas trip to Alsace in 2008, I never thought I'd want to taste cinammon ever again such was it an overpowering trend, but I'm ready again now! You're right about the "kit" look though but I must say that, although it's twee and touristy (particularly on the Champs), the atmosphere is great... and with the lights tomorrow night (and hopefully no rain!), it should be fun!

And, if not, at least there's a treat planned for me. Just the one, and dinner will be very light (fruit).

Wish I was there....

ooh Jo :) I'm envious :) particularly if it's not frozen over like here!! :) can barely feel my fingers as I type...must put some more layers on :) and that's with the heating ON :) x

It was 27°C in my flat this morning! (Building controlled - I pay the same charges if I turn it down, open a window...)
