Ireland- bia- a bit of craic!

Whoop whoop! What can top the feeling of fitting into a onesie? Passing the stone mark, that's what! Lost 3lbs tonight.

YAY I actually lost this week!!! only lost 1lb but its more than i thought!! i was set up for a gain (after my bad week)!
Also got my half stone award!!! :)

Well done folks, all getting lovely shiney stickers, silly it's like being a kid in school but I LOVES the stickers:D

Lots of lovely stuff but also a lot of sweet stuff, they love their doughnuts and chocolate!! I'm getting on fine, parents came out last week and brought out a batch of mug shots and pasta as sauce for when I dot have time to cook dinner..all the British foods cost so much here!! Yeah I've been on the Spanish one, its been a great help :) I've been here 5 months and haven't come home but il be home for Santa :)) still not cold enough here for soups as stews but I make plenty curries and stuff and markets are great for picking up vegetables! :)

I went to Madrid for 5days, put on 4.5lbs eating churros & hot chocolate, overdosed on the stuff, very hard to resist:) Handy getting your visitors to bring food parcels, do they do frylight or similar there?? It's my desert island, couldn't do without product.

Got taster night tonight and I'm gonna bring sausage rolls made with hodgins half a syn sausage and smash pastry! Not expecting much if a loss after my big one last week!

I wish I could say I had a loss but sadly I didn't, just to say well done to all who lost and got their awards. To be honest I had a feeling I would be up and usually my instinct is correct but I wasn't expecting to be so upset (which I was) as this was completely out of my control and I do have a tendency to retain fluid and the scales told me so, bounced from 1Ib to 3.5Ibs and I was lucky it stopped at 2.5 so it could have been a lot worse (total gain was only 1Ib). I put it down to having the speed soup and eating the melon nearly everyday, please God it will show next week and maybe I might move into the 15st bracket.

I have to say, only for my closed facebook page and here, I would feel like giving in but I know how far I have come and since January I have only gained five times and maintained twice, the rest of the time I have lost. I think it may be no harm to do the total weight loss/gain per month to just show myself how far I have come

Sorry to hear that orla! But use that feeling to motivate yourself for another week! I've only gained once since joining and I was gutted! It was my holidays and I put up 3 lbs! All I could think was oh my god I have to lose this as soon as possible! The next week I lost 6lbs! I firmly believe that weight put on the week before comes off faster via it hasn't been there that long! Especially if it fluid! I bet you'll have a big loss next week! On my star week I always have a really hit bath with some Epsom salts to get rid of any bloating! Don't let a small gain make you feel bad when you've already achieved so much!

thanks Kinakk, I might try that bath at some stage but I think the bloating has gone, I reckon if I got up on the scales today, I would be down again, timing was just bad and nothing you can do about it only get on with it and get back the following day fighting (that is what I intend to do)

:hug99:

How is everyone? Had my brothers wedding last Friday. Delighted but was panicing as on the Wednesday I tried my dress on but it was too big. Mad dash to shops to try find another. Weighted today and sts. I made a gorgeous cake called galaxy bars so delighted I didn't put on.

Tomorrow back to using my fitness pal and the lax approach ends. I want a stone off for Christmas.

Ah Orla, it's so disheartening isn't it? Even when the logical part of you says it's "only" fluid retention/bloating, the emotional part just sees the figures going the wrong way.

Definitely take a look at how you've done over the month/year. You're so motivated, and next week you will hopefully see a bigger loss. If the weeks you gained/maintained fall into a pattern, maybe you can be prepared for that wee blip every so often?

Hope you feel better today xx

That's brilliant going, would love to have a dress that's too big on me. Fair play for STS, just goes to show you can have the odd day or 2 off plan and still maintain your good work.

Where do you get those sausages and can you post a pic? I'm craving sausages. Usually do my shopping in Aldi but I think their sausages are about 3 syns or more.

I keep a spreadsheet on my laptop I downloaded from here, it's great for giving you a look at the bigger picture so to speak, it'll tell you at a glance, how many ups, downs, STS's, can be very encouraging & you can see a pattern as regards "star" week, when I usually have a STS or gain but as Kinakk said, bloating & water rentention is usually to blame.

Here's the spreadsheet thread if anyones interested...........

Wow Redster isn't that a wonderful complaint, a dress TOO big, go you!!:D

Thanks. I noticed a big difference in my appetite at the wedding. I didn't eat everything in sight I thought do you really want that.

I was happy about the dress in the end it was much nicer on me.

If anyone wants the recipe for those bars for your treat night let me know. They have taste of millionaires squares without oozing caramel.

Obviously something good has clicked with you to be able to be semi-good at a function, I have a wedding next week & already working out a gameplan in me head to safeguard against a big gain.

Oh stick the recipe up, how many syns are they??? Sound lush.

Ok after all the Xmas jumper talk on here, I caved!!!

I've have secretly wanted one for years, always outta stock by the time I do finally make up my mind to get one & there's always the fear of looking like a baby elephant in it too that's put me off, so this morning I went to Penneys & a got a lovely jumper.........Happy Holly Days:xmascheers:, has sequins & baubles. I'm determined more than ever to get my "Stone for Santa" & be svelte-ish for Xmas, hee hee!!!

Hodgins are only half a syn?? How did we find this out? The gluten free ones I presume? x

No their Hodgins Low Fat sausages! The gluten free hodgins have like 6 syns! It's the gluten free mallons that are syn free! Also the slender choice sausages are half a syn each and you can buy them online!

It has beans and stock in it, so that might help with dryness, I'll let you know! I'll try to take a pic before DH and his dad devour it at weekend.
