Woooh, go Pinkie, so pleased for you - that's a massive loss and very well deserved. There is definite positivity to be had from an unknown gain one week I think!! xxx
Thank-you! :) Yes, I'm kind of glad I did gain in a way, I paid the price for my gain straight away, so there was no hiding from it. I know I can't make that mistake again.

Wow well done on such a fab loss Pinkie, you're doing brilliantly! You must feel so great. Your dinner looks yummy- is that the black eyed bean stew on there then?

Anyway congrats again. You'll be at that 14st 10 before you know it!

Thanks Jules. It felt like a bit of a weight off my shoulders (no pun intended). I haven't been able to see any loss on my body for a few weeks which has been a bit disheartening, so I think I needed a scales victory.

Yes that is my dins. It's a Rosemary Conley recipe, from a book my Mum bought 200ml odd years ago (front memory anyway). Steven loves it too. I'll stick the recipe up when I'm on the pc next. I love lentils, pulses and beans, so I want to start including more meals in my diet each week.

I'm gonna ditch the car and walk to and from the childminders tomorrow. Trying to find little ways to squeeze in exercise, and walking seems like a good way, plus saves me a few bob.

Wow Pinkie, that is amazing. I am so pleased for you :D

It really won't feel long before you get to that goal of 14 St 10 lbs and then before you know it, that 14 will have turned into a 13.

Live that dream........:)

YAY! 4.5lb is amazing! xx

Gail is a great inspiration isn't she? And has a very healthy attitude. I think you will be where she is in no time though Pinkie. xxxx

Food for today.... felt peckish a lot today.

Breakfast:
cup of tea with milk (part of HEa)
Mixed fruit, canned prunes (2 syns), branflakes (HEb), low fat yoghurt. Large mug of herbal tea

Snack:
Apple and banana. Large mug of herbal tea

Lunch:
Tortilla and salad. Banana. Large mug of herb tea

Snack:
Apple and banana, large mug if herbal tea

Dinner:
Rest of black-eyed bean casserole with rice. Pint of water. Banana shake (soya milk from HEa allowance and banana (4 syns). Cuppa (last of milk from HEa allowance).

Total 6 syns.
Water: about 5 pints mostly in teas.
Exercise: walked to childminder and back, meaning I walked total of 1hr 40s mins today.

4 bananas, possibly a bit excessive, but they really help stave off my sweet/chocolate cravings I'm getting at the mo.

Walked to school and back earlier - really enjoying walking in this weather. Steven and I were also saying how much we enjoyed our walk to and from the childminders yesterday. He has so much energy - running off ahead etc. Though he's decided he should wear his reflective band tomorrow, so he shows up in the dark lol. But yeah, I'm really enjoying the walking, and I can feel it is paying off - in that I feel a little fitter all the time and want to walk further. Plus it's lovely time for me and the bairn to chat (we don't really when I drive), and over the month should save quite a bit in petrol too. Annoyingly I have to drive later to collect him from after school club - but other than that all good.

Anyway, my food for today:

Breakfast:
mixed fruit, canned prunes (2 syns), branflakes (HEb), low fat natural yoghurt.

Herbal tea and a clementine.

Lunch:
made the most yumptious quick dinner - sliced quorn sausage, cherry toms, lots of spinach served with supernoodles. Basically just pan fried the quorn sausage and cherry tomatoes, then added the spinach in to let it wilt halfway through. You could do it with normal sausage though, chicken pieces - and it would taste really nice with a jacket, or new potatoes. Anyway, in the spirit of our target member friend Jules :D :D :D I have supplied a pic below...

IMAG0464.jpg

Another cup of herbal tea (I need to get a big pint mug for at home, I drink my other ones too quickly!)

Dinner:
I have made a chilli for me and the boys (there is a little friend coming back to play) which I'll serve with a jacket potato, then fruit and yoghurt for afters. I thought I might use my HEa on some low fat cheese and sprinkle that on top of the chilli.

Which takes me up to 2 syns for today.

I've been thinking that I prefer to not got right up to my syn allowance, I can feel how it slows my weight loss down. So I am going to aim for no more than about 8 each day - and allow 15 on more selective occasions.

Still craving those bloody alpen lights though - when's Easter? Will my craving have subsided by then? I never used to be bothered by chocolate at all!

Now that looks absolutely delicious. I'm not a fan of Quorn, or soya substitutes, but it looks awesome! x

Ah thanks little sausage. The tomatoes, spinach and cajun spice worked really well. You could have it without any meat at all I reckon - that would be lovely with a some pasta actually. Hmmmm, wonder what it might be like when cold, I could do it for a lunch one day.....

I agree, it looks yummy

Recently you have made supernoodles a heck of a lot more appealing to me!! Well done on all the walking too, I barely have the excuse of walking anywhere - would walk to WI but it'll be dark by the time I come out so that puts me off, it's a good 20 min walk and a lot of uphill! Might walk next week tho...

xxx

I do love Supernoodles mav!

I am adding another 40 mins a day of walking on by walking to the childminders. What stopped me before was the dark wet mornings, bearing in mind I have an 8 year old to take too.

Quite looking forward to my stroll in the morning. Trying to get the oomph up to go outside and dig up some more bushes....

Hi Pinkie! Oh thanks for my personalised mention, I feel like I am a celeb!!

Ooh your dinner looks ACE!! I just love supernoodles as you know but I've never had them with quorn sausage and veg, I love the idea of chopping the quorn up too, must try it!

By the way have you ever had supernoodles with cheese? Now that is a real treat.

Totally agree with you about the walking. Loved strutting my stuff to weigh in yesterday. It's so nice to be out in the sun. My lift was late to pick me up today and I didn't mind a jot as was loving sitting at the bus stop in the sun!! Hope it stays like this, that would be nice for your weekend with the bairn! Xxxxx

Thanks Jules. Yes I really do hope it stays nice. I am currently in a quandry over this weekend. The World Superbike round is on a Donington (there is another round at Silverstone in July, where I am aiming at strutting my stuff, and camping for the weekend). But I could go to Donny on Sunday with my wee lad. Trouble is, it's gonna prob cost £100 in petrol, admission - then will need food (OK I could prepare a pack up, prob best to with the diet) - buy the bairn a t-shirt etc. It all adds up though - will be minimum £100 if I pack up a main meal for us. Also its gonna be a good 5-6 hours stuck in the car. Not so much fun for the bairn. He's pretty good, he'd take books and read, or maybe play on his iPod touch for a bit. But that's a long time to sit in a car for one day. So it's a no brainer really, except I REALLY WANT TO GO!!!!!!

I am trying to convince myself of all the other things we can do instead - jogging being one, maybe take pushbikes up to the local pinetum and go for a nice cycle ride, or maybe cycle along the coast near me. Lots of ideas, none of which involve spending a day driving up to bikes.

Ohhhhh, I know I won't go - I can't justify it, but so so so so tempting!

Anyway - food - yes I've sliced it and frylighted them quite a bit - feels so much more appealing than eating them as a sausage to be honest - in fact, I rarely eat them as a sausage.

Breakfast:
Cuppa with part of HEa
Mixed fruit, canned prunes (2 syns), branflakes (HEb), low fat yoghurt. Liquorice tea

Snack:
Banana and apple, liquorice tea

Lunch:
Tortilla with huge portion of mixed salad leaves and about 10th cherry tomatoes. Liquorice tea.

Snack:
Banana and Apple, plus liquorice and mint tea.

Dinner:
2 Quorn sausages, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, mixed salad leaves, supernoodles. Mixed fruit with low fat yoghurt for after.
20g cheddar cheese (rest of HEa).

Stuffed now. :)

Awwwwwww. You're so sweet Jules. Thanks *blushes*

However I agree that if you keep it up Pinkie, you will get there too.

Love reading your food - sounds delicious :)

Have you decided what you're going to do at the weekend yet? I'm sure whatever it is it will be great as all your plans sounded fun! Hope you've had a nice day. What yummy treats have you had today? xxx

Thanks Gail. Yes it seems so far away. And given I've pretty much been overweight or very, very overweight my entire adult life it does seem unfathomable too. But I am determined. I'm just over quarter of the way to my target of 13st at the moment, so that's got to be an achievement.

Well Beanie said he did want to go to the bikes, but has since developed a cold and a limp (?) and is feeling sorry for himself I think. So days out more locally I think. I'm gonna show him how to mend his punctured tyre tomorrow morning. Then drive down to the coast and find a nice cycle pathway and cycle there. I have paniers, so I may well pack a lunch up. Other than that, I've volunteered to do his cub scouts website, so I'm going to rope him into helping with that. I fancy a visit to something too though, so may have to research on the tinterweb. Have to say, having kids is great fun, if you're prepared to put the effort in. I'm fortunate in that he has similar tastes to me. We both like sciencey stuff, he likes a lot if my music and going to gigs - oh all sorts. Kids are just like sponges though, they afire most things. It's letting them sit about on games consoles that's the prob. I limit his time to 1 hour screen time per day, to spend how he chooses. He's loves reading and is great at keeping himself occupied playing with his toys, playing outside, drawing etc. But done kids just want to be on consoles all the time and can't occupy themselves beyond that. Such a shame I think.

Anyhoo, a wealth of possibilities, but as I'm not on call I want to escape the house as much as possible. Hmm, maybe we could finally do the observatory at Greenwich. He'd love that. Then go boating in the lake if its open.....

So my planned good for today:
Breakfast:
Cuppa (with soya milk from allowance).
Mixed fruit, canned prunes (2 syns), branflakes (HEb), low fat yoghurt. Liquorice tea.

Snack:
Fruit - prob banana and apple as that's all they al upstairs. More tea.

Lunch:
I made up a savoury rice last night with lots of chopped green beans added, and frylighted sliced quorn sausages. Fruit for pud. Liquorice tea

Snack:
Yoghurt and fruit. Liquorice tea.

Dinner:
Chicken and lamb swish kebab (I've promised the bairn). Banana milkshake using remaining soya milk (HEa) and a banana (4 syns).

Comes to a total of 6 syns.
Drink: am caning huge mugs of herbal tea at the mo, about 2/3 pt I'd guess. Plus I'll try and drink a couple if pints of water this evening.
Exercise: none today drove to station as have to rush to my parents to collect bairn after football. Ah well, running tomorrow to look forward, and hopefully that nice long cycle.

Ooh I made the same lunch as you- sort of! Savoury rice with green beans, pepper, quorn mince... Really yummy!

Sounds like you'll have a great weekend! Are there lots of day trips you can do round your way? There's loads of good stuff here on Manchester, if only I knew some kids to take round! Xxxx
