Thanks Laura - yes I hope it does get easier. It wasn't as bad as I thought, and the 60 seconds for the run was over quite quickly - but a couple of times, it was really hurting my chest/lungs etc. Yet I can swim for an hour non-stop and not blink. Funny huh?
Anyhoo, food for today:
Breakfast:
Latte made from lovely steamed (percolated?) coffee, some sweetener and soya milk from HEa * allowance.
2 quorn sausages, 1.5 grilled tomatoes, 3 grilled mushroom, 5 rashers of grilled bacon (piggy, but sod it), baked beans, 1 frylight fried egg. 3 cups of tea with soya milk from HEa).
Snack:
apple, clementine
Late lunch (about 17:00):
chicken wrapped in bacon, loads of curly kale, carrots, sprouts, gravy (using granules - 1 syn), rosti potatoes - frylight. Yumptious!
Bowl of mixed fruit, a little sweetener, 2 kiwi fruit and low fat yoghurt for pud.
2 summer fruit alpen light bars - HEb. **
Cup of tea with soya milk from HEa.
Total syns: 1
Exercise: well, 25 mins on C25k, plus a 1.5-2 hour walk this afternoon, moderate pace.
Water: hardly any in it's own right.
* HEa - I have been measuring out the 350ml of unsweetened soya milk, to ensure I stay within the right amount
** HEb - well, I am supposed to be giving up all cakes, choc, sweets, treats etc for lent. And I put my alpen light bars in this category as I was going a bit mental with them. However, I fancied something a bit stodgier and sweet after my fruit - and thought, well, I suppose I should have a geo bar instead - would have been 6 syns. Then I thought, this is ridiculous, I can have a couple of alpen light bars once a week for my HEb (as I don't have my usual cereal on a Sunday). So I did, and they were very nice. I felt I could do it as they were summer fruit and not the choccy ones. It's a control thing, but there it is. Just felt I had to explain that one lol, I am still very much lenting away (as is the wee bairn, bless him).
So was fairly active today. Went for a run first thing this morning before breakfast and it was such good fun with the little man. He seemed to enjoy it too, was really pleased his Mummy was running (in the loosest sense) with him.
While breakfast was cooking I started in the garden - so did some mowing, cut down a load of woody lavendar and a rose which is all stringy and horrible. Then after breakfast, finished off pulling up the debris from the front. So I feel like I'm making some progress on the gardens, albeit it just looks bare at the moment, but I have to clear it all so I can then decide what I really want to do with it all. Thinking of planting a smallish tree out the back, in a sheltered corner. So thinking something fairly hardy, maybe a crab apple (will attract birds and insects - good) - but part of me fancies a cherry tree, so I can pretend to be Japanese for a couple of weeks each year when the cherry blossom comes out. Anyway, work to do before I'm at the planting stage - but it's nice to finally be getting motivated around the house. I have always struggled with that at this house. I think because I moved here out of necessity (following my seperation from my ex husband), rather than because I wanted to. I swore I would never move back to this area, but here I am - so that my son could be near family, which I felt was important given his Dad had moved away. Anyhoo, with the spring, feeling good (ish) about the diet - I also seem to be wanting to improve my immediate environment too - which is good. Think I may have a little schnufty around some bootfairs soon, to see if I can find a couple of things I'd like for the kitchen etc. Buggered if I'm paying £10 each time. I want a small, but tall, shelving unit, to paint up white too. Plans plan. It's nice!
Anyway, I digress. So this afternoon, we finally got it together, and went for a walk to a new park area, which the Forestry Commission has taken over and planted loads of trees. We were walking for a fair while, (1/5 to 2 hours say), and Beanie was kicking his ball all over the place - and mostly I was kicking it back with him - so another feel good moment. My legs are feeling a bit weary now though.
My plans to go do a day out kind of went by the wayside with one thing and another. But we had a nice weekend, and he got a bit of quiet time. Probably better I suppose, as he has this cold and bad cough, and was out last night at Chas and Dave.
The plan is to be out of the door by 7 tomorrow morning for our run, so we have time to clean up and get ready for breakfast and our walk to school. Phew!
So I'm off now, am pooped and the bairn has just got out of the bath, and I need to make him some soup.
Toodlepip!
