It's Now Or Never

Haha I love that, it's been all over Facebook- how is it even possible?!

Hope you've had a nice day, happy for you with your on-call free time! Jambalaya with salmon sounds nice, did u take a pic?? Xxxxx

Ooh no pic, but I may have it again tomorrow for lunch, so will take a pic then.

Food - well I snacked on cherry tomatoes at the partay and drank lots of diet coke. So I treated myself to a mixed shish kebab on the way home, which I've just scoffed (I know, I know - my hedonistic lifestyle is shocking). So with another 7 syns for the pitta bread, I believe that takes me up to 13 syns for the day.

It's nearly one now, so I'm gonna pass out soon. Tomorrow morning I'm going to get my carcass to the pool, quick trip to B&Q for some paint for the kitchen, Sainsburys for food, then off with my Dad and sister to watch Millwall v Cardiff - should be interesting!
Can't wait till my boy comes home tomorrow night. I'm gonna treat us to a day out somewhere on Sunday I think. Does anyone know any good sites for downloading films BTW?

I loved that whole flashmob thing, so up my street!!!

Ur jambalaya sounds lovely, I love salmon too

Sounds like u have a good weekend planned, enjoy it xxx

Hmmmmm, I am old and cynical. Here's the one they did a couple of years ago though.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtube_gdata_player&v=3vzMdVUJMGY

I made the jambalaya a while back and froze a couple of portions. So the rice does tend to be a little gooier than it was originally, still tasted lovely though. And the salmon was gorgeous, I sprinkle a little salt on the skin first then some tarrogan on top. For tonight though I shall do it again, but I picked up a seasoning for salmon, so thought I'd give that a bash.

Am having a dilemma as I had planned lamb roast for tomorrow, but may now go out for whole day, and wanted film and dip evening for tea time. Arrgh, too much to fit in!

Well what a day. Football was horrible. Some bloke from the away support managed to fall from the top tier, and quite frankly is lucky to be alive. The way certain factions of both sets if supporters behaved was disgusting. The away end has had untold seats and toilets smashed up. Not a good day for my club. I feel sick thinking about that man's body slumped over the chairs in the lower tier, like a rag doll. Just been chatting to my friend who is one of the club doctors, and dealt with the guy. She is very pooped poor thing. So def a bit meh, right now. I love ny club, but things like this, just ruin it all.

Food-
Breakfast:
Mixed fruit, canned prunes (2 syns), branflakes (HEb), low fat yoghurt.
2 cups of tea with soya milk (part of HEa)

Lunch:
Rush job as was late for footie - huge plate of spinach with low fat supernoodles on top.

Snack:
Banana, 2 apples

Dinner:
Jambalaya rice with pan fried salmon.
Banana, 2 clementines for pud. 20g cheddar (rest of HEa).

Am chilling now with my pud fruit, a T&T, and an old film 'Billy Liar'. Has Tom Courtenay and Julie Christie - both of whom I like, so we shall see. It was a Sainsburys £3 special.

Blimey. That sounds awful. That poor man and your poor friend.

Wow that's amazing ! I'm really glad that he's ok though. Was he drunk ? Sometimes that helps for a 'softer landing'.

All fine here. Having a hectic weekend though. Working today and tomorrow (Boo !) and the trying to get to orchestra rehearsal tomorrow afternoon plus concert tomorrow evening (which will cheer me up a bit from the working weekend !). Will need a new orchestra top soon because this one is getting a bit big :)

Hope your weekend gets better.

Woah, you must be shaken up after that. How lucky that he got away with a few injuries!! Bet you're pleased to hear that.

I sometimes think some football supporters' behaviour and the bad reputation they have in general is a shame as it spoils it for the majority of normal people. Not that I know much about football, just what I hear living in a city with two such big clubs and shall we say 'passionate' supporters!

Your salmon and jambalaya look amazing Pinkie! Think I will try the salt and herb skin trick! xxxx

I heard about that on the news too, sounds just awful and he could have so easily died. Some football fans, if u can even call them that gave no sense. It astounds me how the fans of football and rugby behave so differently. Can't imagine what would happen if the footie fans all shared the stands, carnage I would imagine.

Its a shame that a few can ruin it for everyone else xx

I don't think he was - or at least my friend said she couldn't smell alcohol on him. Bless her, they've got a photo of the med team treating him and she's there sorting them all out. Se's still filling all the paperwork for the HSE in now. Anyway, the guy has literally walked away with three broken fingers and various bones bruised. Amazing.

I'd love to have learnt to play an instrument properly. I tinkered with piano and violin (I have my grandad's old german violin in the loft), but was always rubbish really - never practiced enough. What do you play? What type of orchestra are you with - do you play professionally? Do you have a preferred composer? Good news on the orchestra top though - get you skinny minny! ;-)

Yes passionate support sometimes goes too far. I put up with a lot of grief because of who I support, I've seen some sights and very little surprises me anymore. It does detract from all the great things my club does too - all the community work, raising money, anti-racism campaigning. Then some prat runs on the pitch, or a bunch of idiots want a punch up, and it all goes out the window. Though quite honestly, I believe it is an issue with society, the football is symptomatic, and if you saw them on match day - never watching the pitch and just shouting at each other - you'd say it was irrelevant too. But it is what it is - and I'll never stop going because of it - I'll support them in the way I want to and sod everyone else. ;-)

The salmon was lovely. I always used to grill salmon, or wrap in foil and bake - but I definitely prefer pan frying it now, it just melts in the mouth!

I heard about that on the news too, sounds just awful and he could have so easily died. Some football fans, if u can even call them that gave no sense. Sort of like I said above, I think it is a bit of a class thing - lower working classes traditionally watched football games, and less so Rugby. And people in said classes, tend to be handier with their fists, rather than articulate their frustrations. Sure it's more complicated than that, and that is a massive sweeping statement - but I do believe a lot of it stems from that.

Anyway, the silly bugger is OK - which I'm glad for - but I'm also angry now, as I missed most the second half because of it - and apparently it was a real corker too! ;-)

So today, what did I do? Well my lad was home again, we had a bit of a lazy one getting ready, had a nice cooked breakfast, then toodled off to a Roman villa which isn't too far from us. He really wanted to go up the park, but I dragged him off anyway. It worked out really well in the end. He got an activity sheet and was happy as larry working on that and seeing all the bits and bobs there (the building itself is really just the foundation walls - but you can make out all the rooms on the lower floor). He enjoyed it though, so I was really pleased I'm made him go.

We came home, and I got the roast dinner on - I'd already parboiled the spuds so it didn't take long to do. The last of the roast lamb from the portions I'd had frozen gone now. Was lovely though, and had oodles of veggies with it.

Then after dinner, I finally got off my bum and did something in the front garden. I'm afraid I did blitz it with weedkiller and then dug up all the messy bushes, shrubs etc. Well most anyway, until I ran out of wheelie bin space - I now have a wheelie bin with the lid propped open with a horrible spikey conifer thing. Operation tidy up commences. I shall look for some nice rose bushes or something to put there I think - something I actually like the look of. Steven helped a little (I got him sweeping up all the leaves in the back garden) - then he played with his friends on the green opposite for an hour whilst I did my bits and bobs.

By the time we'd done all this it was nearly 7 - so dip and film night went out of the window and we had a snack instead.

So I feel like I've had a nice and kind of productive day. Though the sink is full of washing up that I can't be bothered to do.

My food then:

Breakfast:
2 quorn sausages, thinly sliced pan fried potatoes, baked beans, mushroom, 1 fried egg, 3 rashers bacon. All frying used frylight. 2 cups of tea with soya milk (part of HEa).

Snack:
apple

Lunch:
roast lamb, gravy (just meat juice and lamb oxo cubes), SW roast spuds, sprouts, curly kale, carrots.

Tea:
2 corn on the cobs. Apricot geobar for afters (6 points).

Snack:
Banana, clementine.

Total syns: 6
Exercise: none!
Water: hardly any - bad bad woman!

Now I haven't had the rest of my HEa yet, and no HEb - but I just don't feel hungry, so don't want to have it for the sake of it. All I really want is fruit to be honest. So I am not going to have it, as that just seems silly.

Boy I feel so much happier for having had a good day. Shame work is on tomorrow ha ha - but hey, it pays the mortgage. My lazy project manager is back too after a week on a course. He'll be so pissy as I've fired back a load of docs he has been trying to palm off onto other people. So no doubt he'll be in full whining mode when he sees that. Just as well I am homeworking - I shall just ignore his emails. :D

Weigh in tomorrow - technically I have been spot on, so should have lost, but I am feeling very lumpy again right now :-(

Anyway, I am sure I have sufficiently bored anyone who is still reading this, so I will now shut my trap and go do something, but probably not the washing up. Adios!

Hi Pinkie,

VERY busy day for you today ! Good on you. So glad you had a lovely productive day.

I play the flute and piccolo. Piccolo is a strange instrument - a bit showy but extremely difficult to tune which isn't good when everyone can hear you because you are so high and usually loud above everyone else. Definitely not professional but really enjoy it. I only get to play with orchestras when there is an extra part (flute places are very hard to come by). I also play the piano and am learning the violin (but not very good ).

Good luck for tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I'll be watching out for you.

I do really love the violin though, wish I'd been able to do mine some justice.

I like the violin too but not the way I play it. Sadly I don't do mine any justice at all...........!!!!

*girlie gushing screech warning*
I lost 4.5lbs! Am so pleased, it all paid off! That takes me down to 15st 10lbs, which is strange as just this morning I was thinking that is the weight I want to aim for next. The reason being a year or so back I got down to 14st 10lb and felt so good. And now I'm only a store away from that, so it feels sort of achievable.

Breakfast:
Usual fruit, canned prunes (2 syns), branflakes (HEb) and low fat yoghurt.
Cuppa with soya milk from HEa.

Snack:
Banana milkshake using milk from HEa and a banana (4 syns). Apple.

Lunch:
Supernoodle omelette, with spinach and huge plate of salad leaves, plus a sliced and frylighted quorn sausage.

Snack:
Apple, 3 clementines (they were do sweet, juicy and moreish).

Dinner:
Black eyed bean stew with rice.

Probably have some more fruit later.

Total syns: 6
Drank a few herbal teas, but not much else.
Walked to and from school twice today which was lovely with the weather being so nice.

Woooh, go Pinkie, so pleased for you - that's a massive loss and very well deserved. There is definite positivity to be had from an unknown gain one week I think!! xxx

Wow well done on such a fab loss Pinkie, you're doing brilliantly! You must feel so great. Your dinner looks yummy- is that the black eyed bean stew on there then?

Anyway congrats again. You'll be at that 14st 10 before you know it!
