Izzyhew's dizzy start to diet......

Hi texty, it's been a little up and down, not a fan of the food shopping but it needed doing and I escaped without children lol. Was nice to see my parents for a wee while this afternoon :)

Baby has been grumpy off and on, not sure why, but had a difficult time at bedtime when he is usually really good :( put him down at 7 as normal and was up and down like a yoyo until after 8 he just didn't settle. Ah well he seems on since so fingers crossed.

I eventually got on the treadmill at about 2030 and managed my session 2, but I need to find a way around having my tea so late it really doesn't suit me.

I'm feeling quite irritable so I think I will just jump in the shower and head to bed xxx

My scales show another 1/2 down today :)

Plans for today are all for the afternoon, got physio appointment at 1350 for my wonky knee, my manager calling by my house some time after 3 to pick up some forms, and the people who purchased the caravan are coming to get it probably sometime after 4.

Still irritable :( might be PMT but I'm not prone to it. Hubby picked the wrong time to suggest a 800 mile around trip for a feckin car last night (I was irritable before that so bad timing lol) There is a possible good deal near to where his family live 400 miles away so he is now suggesting we spend part of his 2 weeks off going down there staying with family, buying car and coming home. The thing is - I love his family we are always made totally welcome but I just don't respond well to sudden changes when I am expecting something else. I know that is my problem, not the plan so much. I was expecting his 2 weeks off to be spent having a nice time just the 4 of us, with chilling, and day trips and no long journeys. Now there will be nights spent away in a strange bed where I never sleep best, and last time (April) my baby didn't sleep well in the travel cot so I was up several times per night, I'm not in the mood to consider that. I just feel like everything has been taken over by his desire to car shop. I'm reluctant to complain here in the traditional 'all men are like that' way because I don't believe in that lol. So I hope it isn't sounding that way. He is offering to do ALL the driving, and I know if baba is restless at night he would take a turn with that as well, but I kinda feel that I wake up immediately anyway so even if he does get up instead of me to settle him I will still be awake.

It doesn't help that after he brought it up last night it ended up gone midnight before I slept, and then typically Baby woke me up at 0520! I did get him resettled for another hour, but I seriously need to have more sleep soon.

Hi Izzy, here to follow now I've caught up. Sounds like you've a mega busy day hope it goes well and then you can get some much needed rest.

if you go on your road trip/buy a car/see in laws, maybe they'll help with the kids and you can get sometime to relax or have a night out just you and the hubby. Xxx

hello everybody, Glad to have you aboard Cookie :)

just a quickie for now because I need to eat, but .....drum roll please....

:whacky068::bliss::whacky068::bliss:I HAVE COMPLETED COUCH TO 5K!!!!!

Of course in my case it's only 3.3k, but I have jogged for 30 mins, 3 times this week :) and that is the programme completed! I just need to decide where to take it from here!

I had a yummy tea :) I have a pic but can't post it as my daughter took my phone lead away to Grannies as she uses it to charge her tablet lol. I have another one somewhere will need to dig it out.

I had chicken in a cajun coating nice and spicy and yummy, and I did an oven tray with potato wedges, onion, butternut squash, tomatoes, halved mini peppers and a sliced up chilli, with a little of the cajun seasoning on the top. It was really nice, and syn free too!

I did an EE day today as I really fancied a baked potato for lunch and I knew I wanted potato wedges at teatime and wasn't sure HE's/syns would have gone far enough, in the end I haven't overdone the syns today though so it probably could have been a red day or an EE.

FOOOOOOOD

Breakfast - fruit n fibre plus banana (HEA and B)

Lunch - baked potato with last nights curry

Tea - cajun chicken

snacks - 1 bourbon biscuit (3.5syn) and hot choc (2) total 5.5. Lowest syn day in ages! not by design really I just wasn't hungry so I didn't snack.

yesterday I didn't have my hot choc, so didn't use all my HEA, or the 2syns, but I did have a choc coated rice cake at 4syns, so revised total was 7.5, still good :)

This morning.... my scales show another drop, 1.5 since last weds! I don't know why exactly it's started to move but I'm so very pleased and just going to keep doing what I am doing.

Been to look at a car this morning, and it looks like car of choice is an Audi A5 coupe, really nice car, now we just need to see if we can find one with the right spec at the right price. We have decided to go from Sunday to wednesday to see his family and I'm over the negativity now. His family are really lovely people and it will be nice for them to see baba as a lot of them can't travel to see us.

I think you'll enjoy it and good luck with the car shopping. Food sounded nice wold love to see the Cajun dinner you made when your able to post it xxx

There it is Cookie :)

Cajun seasoning
1/2 teaspoon cardamom seeds, 1 teaspoon coriander seeds, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon fennel seeds, 1 teaspoon black peppercorns, 2 teaspoons dried oregano, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt.

Shove it all in a pestle and mortar, mush it all together, chuck it in a bowl and roll your chicken (or anything) in it or sprinkle it over wedges etc, cook it, yummy.

I thought about making a batch of it and keeping it in a jar or bag, but I think the tastes might suffer.

Glad the weight is moving for you Izzy.

Reading your earlier post I can totally identify with that. I react the same and so does my son much to the erm frustration of his wife. If it just me and my son I am not so bad cause I know he will get worse. I am smiling to myself about it. Sometimes it is so good to get it off your chest. Have a good few days. x

It's weird Doreen, I am great in a crisis, I can handle things changing instantly when it's something really important/life threatening/life changing. I just feel that if I can deal with the big things so well then no one should mess with my little things lol.

We all have our quirks :) it's good to know your own ones, as well as those of the people you spend time with, and try to work together with the quirks rather than against them.

I just needed a day or two to adjust my expectations, and he has needed to reassure me that the next week won't all be about cars. He is working this weekend, late tonight but only 6 tomorrow, so after his work tomorrow we are going to sit down and plan our day trips :)

Although I completely forgot tonight is the annual party in our street (hosted by a great couple a few doors down) we've all chipped in for caterers this year and it's always a nice atmosphere, got lovely neighbours here. So I will pop along with the little one in his buggy and hope he sleeps, and hubby will pop in after he gets home at 10-ish, assuming baby has behaved and I am still there!

There will be food.... and I have already had 10.5 syns because I had forgotten so haven't made allowances, but hey ho.

I do understand Izzy.

Hope you enjoyed your party today. And of course your days out this week. :)

Well done on c25k Izzy. What a fantastic achievement! Are you still planning to jog twice a week to keep it up?

The street party sounds great. I'd love to have things like that where I stay but people mostly keep themselves to themselves. The neighbours are a bit more sociable where my mum lives though and they're mostly the same neighbours from when I was young so it's nice to gatecrash their get togethers, lol!! I hope you enjoy the party x

for the most part it's quiet here, we're not in and out each others houses much etc, but they are all really friendly none the less, I feel very safe here and quite sure in a crisis there are several doors I could run too, as well as knowing when my daughter is out playing that everyone looks out for each other. It's a good balance of community spirit and privacy I think.

Party was lovely, not long home at about 2330 lol. Baby slept for 5 mins, then woke up really upset because he'd gone to sleep at home where everything was familiar and quiet and then woke up surrounded by noises and smells and lots of people many of whom he didn't know :( but he calmed down quite quickly only 5-10 mins. I nipped home and got a blanket for him to sit on and sat him down with some toys and he proceeded to play happily and smile at everyone till about 2315 when he plainly started to get tired so we just finished our drinks and took him home.

I haven't though about syns etc I've just had a night off.

As for the running, I am going to try to keep up 3x per week until I go back to work. I think what I will do is try to extend my running by 2mins per week, until I can actually run 5k, then I will work on speed after that. 5k should happen at around 50 mins I think, and with a 5 minute warm up and a 5 minute cool down that makes an hour - I think that's long enough for me.

I am sleepy Izzy now :4635: these early nights I know I need are proving a little elusive!

I slept really rubbish last night grrrrr.

And although the baba has only just started making noises at 0915!!! I have been awake since 0700 as that's when hubby got up for work and I couldn't get back to sleep after that.

Right for today I need to have a 100% day to jump back in after yesterdays party - I am certain that it is completely true that it is not one meal/evening that spoils a diet, only what you choose to do in the subsequent days. SO here goes a good food day!

Happy Sunday minis x

Morning hun, we had a rubbish night too:(. Baby was up loads and really restless. But on hols she slept every night all night! first time in 8 months! and now we are back she has gone back to waking every couple hours i know we were in a diff routine over there and one that isn't really practical at home but it obviously suited the little one better:sigh:.

Oh and wanted to say congrats on the completion of the c25k! well done amazing work! I seem to have missed loads just being away a week lol xxxxx

perhaps go back into the holiday routine and use it as a base to gradually adapt to something more practical? you know she CAN sleep now so I think it's ok to now try to push her along a little xx
