JanD heading towards 2 years :o)))

I really enjoyed it thanks ... the time flew and she was very flattering - I know she has to be, but nevertheless it DID inspire confidence. I'll be going next wednesday :) - It'll be a different bunch of nutters then as well ;) - I must say we DID have a laugh - lots of coffee & biccies around too - had the coffees but not the biccies :) xx

What sort of things do you like to draw/paint Jan?

Glad you enjoyed the class, obviously you fitted in well then ;)

Yes I definitely fitted into their nutters category :) I'll be going on a different day though so more to meet & hopefuuly get on with!

I don't have a set genre I like to work in. When I'm on holiday I like to try to capture a scene (try being the operative word) and I find when I look a them even though they're not very good they still evoke memories of the hol. What I want is the confidence to sit out and not worry if anyone comes up to see what I'm doing. At the moment I'll only do it either in the car (which gets a bit hot!) or if there isn't a soul around!

I'd also like to be able to capture the children's likenesses - though I'm a VERY long way off being able to do that.

Today the exercise was to draw a teddy and a lamb in charcoal. And after that she gave me an 'inspiration' box to pick something out of that I'd like to try to reproduce. I picked a Basset Hound and I picked pastels to try to work in. I haven't used them much before but I like the effect of them.

In the past I've also done a few abstract things in Acrylics - I took a couple along, together with some watercolours and sketches and she was exceedingly complimentary but I (being me) took it all with a pinch of salt! However I CAN see the basset hound coming along so maybe I'll like pastels ... messy though :D

Waffling - sorry xx

Defo love the waffling!! I want to see more of your artwork Jan! Glad you enjoyed it and well done on resisting the biccies! x

I will put piccies up when & if I finish something and feel it's good enough! I forgot I'd put those others in an album on here. I was quite pleased because that's the only record I've got of them! :) xx

Were the pastels sugar coated;)

I dont mind a little bit of drawing myself, but more people, chairs, etc.........lol. Might draw you when you get there............haha.

BIIIIIG GROAN re the pastels !!!!!

You can draw me by all means :) ... let's have a look at some of your stuff then!! x

Jan well done on resisting the crisps. Thought you had two packs first but was relived to find this was not the case!
Very cool re art class! You definitely have to post some of your work. I am rubbish! I stop at stick men!!!

Going to see Psychic Sally tomorrow night :D - will be hard not to have the usual pre-theatre & interval drinks. Battling with a naughty voice telling me it's okay I can have them, surely I'm light enough to not bother about self-imposed 'rules' now and again (ie not drinking on a monday) Then another voice says I'll be sorry of it affects wi on Tues. Then another says - it's my birthday week, lighten up. I have no idea which one I'll listen to yet  xx

The right what Mary? Dead person or voice in my head??? Lol! Come to think of it maybe I'd better have a drink - that way I'll be sure to have a spirit or two while I'm there :8855: xx

Hahhaaa.............voice I was thinking of Jan.

I love psychic nights, I have not had a reading in a few years, maybe time to get something booked up.

Whichever way goes tomorrow be sure to let us know how p.sally gets on :) x

Go for it Mary - don't worry I will Tan :) xx

Have a lovely time hun! I'm quite interested in that type of thing because of my mum passing but don't know if I would be brave enough to go iykwim! I have a friend and she is totally addicted to it all now and won't make a decision or anything on her own.
But here is hoping something happens for you!

Ooo crumbs I don't think that's very healthy! (If you don't mind me saying) It's one thing knowing this life isn't all there is, but quite another letting the afterlife rule this one!!

I'll be straight on here after to let you know if anything happens - for the first time I'm going to one of these things wanting something for someone else rather than myself. My son is going with us and some words of support from 'the other side' would be soooo good for him at the moment. However, he'll be okay either way ... eventually!

Monday 30th May

Breakie - choccie mousse

Bed

Tea - Avacado & cottage cheese salad with balsamic.

Haven't decided about a tipple yet. I actually don't think they serve alcohol at these nights so that'll make my mind up for me :) xx

Ooops they were serving alcohol and double oops I had 2 ... oh yeah and triple ooops - having another now at home ;)

It was a really good show - nothing for us but plenty that were really spot on - DS really enjoyed it, it was nice to see him forgetting his cares for a little while :) xx
