Hi Susianna - thanks!

Sorry to hear you've been unwell. Hope you have a very speedy recovery.

Good to have you posting again. xx

Susianna! Just noticed that you only have 3lb to go to your goal!! Well done you. Brilliant. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Thanks everyone ... probably a familiar topic on these boards .... Gallstones!! So that's what I have been suffering with....had scans etc which confirmed my Gallbladder was full of them following terrible attacks of pain, vomiting and finally worked out that this was what my passing out episodes were down to aswell, anyway was therefore due to see a consultant in October to be put on the list to have my GB removed. Things however got taken out of my hands when I was in constant pain and turned yellow from Jaundice and they realised I had a stone stuck in my bile duct so went in last Tuesday and luckily the stuck stone had moved by Thursday so they whipped out my GB before anymore problems occured. So out last Friday and now recovering and taking things easy but can't wait to be back to normal so I can get back to the gym which I'm really missing!

Yes TI I think this health blip has helped me get nearer goal lol but I was getting there myself slowly but surely ... only 3lb off getting into the 10's which I just cant believe but need to make sure I am not dieting at present as recovering from op but lets just say I'm being a bit careful as am determined to get there still :)

Great to see everyone still doing so well!

Take care all.

oh susianna, sorry to hear about the pain you have been in.
fingers crossed you are sorted now tho

just had weigh in - 1lb on

so 8.12

absolutely fine about that - lost 4 lb last week so its no big deal putting 1 on

i'm going to get weighed in a fortnight - if i hadn't been weighed last week i would have lost 3lb in a fortnight and would have been pleased. what i don't want to do is get hung up weighing - losing 1 and feeling pleased - then eating more then the next week, then feeling bad if i gain 1 and eat more cos of that....etc etc

ideally i will be getting weighed monthly eventually and so i need to start to break from the weekly weigh ins - as long as over the 2 weeks i stay the same i should be fine!

Glad you're on the mend and they acted on it Susianna! Good luck with a full recovery, I sure the gym is beckoning.

Se how easy it is to come to terms with it Daisy? You are doing fab now!

Well done Susianna

so pleased you have had your gall stones sorted. I believe it can be really painful.
Yes it is pretty common on here.
You'll be at goal really soon. Well done you.

Sorry to hear about the Gallstones Susianna, but really pleased you're all 'sorted' now. Only a very short time to go now until ALL the Jan Starters are at goal :)

Glad you're sorted Susianna. No more gallstones to worry about ;). I know I have gallstones, but not causing me any problems at the moment.

I suspect my illness over the week has contributed, but I'll accept what the LL scales say - that I had another good loss this week :D. 3.5lb off leaves me with a straight stone to lose to get to goal. Can't quite believe it myself. I really am almost there . It is totally achievable in the time I have set - six and a half more weeks of abstinence.

D'you know - I am really, really looking forward to my weeks holiday with the family. Flights leaving in 9 days . Had hoped to be in RTM by now, but actually don't mind the thought of sticking to abstinence.

xx

you are doing so well! not long til RTM - and it willbe so much easier on hoilday being ab rather than searching for RTM week 4, or whatever, foods!

Thanks everyone ...I am 2 weeks post op today and feeling much much better!

Wow you are are rocking now TI and so very nearly there! I agree with Daisy it would be much easier to do at least the early weeks of RTM at home rather than on holiday .... so glad you are looking forward to it and hope you have a wonderful time!

TI I just wanted to let you now my take on Gallstones since you have them which is that the body is fine whilst taking on little to no fat so in abstinence and RTM but once you then start introducing more normal levels of fat and dairy this is a real shock to the gallbladder after being so long without it which can then irritate the stones and cause problems .... so just beware but fingers crossed you don't have any such issues :D.

Susianna - thanks for the warning. Hope all OK as I can't afford time out at the moment and a rushed op job would be a nightmare. What symptoms should I be looking out for to get an early warning that something's wrong?

For me it was pain in upper abdo particularly on right & round into upper back, would come on suddenly & v painfull, would also vomit and pass out. I'm sure you will be fine but as you mentioned you had them already just thought it might help to be careful with fat, dairy & spicey foods after RTM.

Hello everyone.

Sorry I've been AWOL a while as up until 2 weeks ago I was working 11 hours a day, 7 days a week and had no time to post. In that time I finished RTM but since then I have struggled mentally with emotional eating. It's a biggie for me and I am still working on it. Unfortunately a couple of bad weeks (plus lack of time and planning) means I am up about half a stone on where I finished RTM and ideally I would like to drop another stone to get back to where I would be happy.

I must admit that not coming on here and not being able to get to my LL meetings has had a big impact on my morale.

I'm now back to working reasonable hours and in the last week I have started to exercise properly. I want to head back to LL soon and tackle this last stone. I am quite sad that I haven't managed to keep the weight down as much as I wanted and sometimes I wonder whether I will ever "cure" my emotional eating, but heck, I'm keeping plugging

I'm glad everyone else is doing so well. Well done TI on your continued progress - you are such a star!!! Susianna, sorry you were poorly and glad to hear you are back on the mend. I too have gallstones and luckily don't have any problems with them and didn't have any when I reintroduced fat and dairy, but it's good to know the symptoms just in case :)

AWw, Westie - you are our Little Train that Could. :)

You will crack it - just keep working at it, as you are....and it WILL happen.

Its so nice to see you back. I did wonder where you had gone, so its great to know you are still here.

Half a stone will be a cinch to tackle, and when you get to your final goal you will feel a good sense of accomplishment.

Keep at it. Practice makes perfect!

Thanks BL.

It's funny but I felt so sad yesterday because everyone else has, and still is, doing so well and I was sad that I can't seem to manage the maintenance part of this journey (please nobody take this the wrong way because I'm so proud of everyone).

But being back has reinvigorated me and I can see how much I rely on support in doing this.

I guess I just need to keep plugging and maybe one day I will crack it!

i don't think i have been doing too well at the maintenance part either westie
mind you back on track since yesterday. hmmm, why is it not easy?!
