Ah maybe we should talk about that a bit more then? That's what brought mine out recently - my DD1's rediscovered love for rice-pudding and my inability to cook it on the hob without boiling over.
We then have it as a cold dessert not hot BTW.
In (north) Germany it's also a main dish, hot, with stewed fruit or just cinnamon. YUM my favourite I'd request it when at my gran's house!
I adore rice pudding, hot or cold... as it comes, no fruit or cinnamon on mine please! (And I'll fight you for the skin! But, strangely enough, ABHOR custard skin!)
So I guess you don't like the Dukan baked egg custards, Jaq... shame!!
To be fair when I'm full I dont miss dessert. I miss the convieniance of making a meal out of cake but when sugar is out my system I dont crave sweet stuff too much.
It surprised me in the links you put in winter warmer thread how many are for desserts.
The French are very big on their dairy... even men! I couldn't imagine my father ever ever eating a yoghurt, for instance! Come to that, they weren't common in our house either cos none of us liked them!
I think when staying in ketosis, though, the idea of finishing on a sweet note - or giving people options for desserts they can have when perhaps catering dinner parties - is nice. I know of people who serve all sorts of Dukan desserts to non dieting friends and they don't notice, say, that their floating island isn't as it normally is... or that their egg custard isn't made with full cream milk... just helps with deprivation feelings I guess when on a long term diet.
OH got my slow cooker out yesterday so I have it on for the family really - I am trying to have a PP day today, but it is so hard in this weather. The stew is Dukan friendly just in case I can't resist!
