You are a minimins hero!! :D You are clearly self-aware and because of that you are making great decisions. It's great to see how happy you are. Congrats on -5!!!

Thank you sooo much Missfortissimo. Your post make me grin x

Grrr. I'm in need of a rant.

Sitting in the back garden fuming. OH is doing my head in. I know he is in pain and frustrated and bored and feeling down and helpless. But taking it out on me over trivial things like me asking to watch some TV when he has watched his favourite programmes and played the PS3 all day is not on. He has gone to bed in the huff and just now it's doing my head in.

Rant over sorry people.

Thanks Rachel. I'm fairly chuffed.

Hopefully he wakes in a better mood.

And to top it off there's nothing on the tv lol xx

I'd be quite frustrated too! :patback: I can somewhat empathize with my father-in-law needing all this looking after, but he doesn't hog the TV, he just listens to the radio and looks at the paper... Sorry about your frustrations, that's no fun at all. But the fact that you are taking on these responsibilities AND losing an incredible amount of weight is just that -- incredible! Rant to us all you want! :hug99:

I get that he's frustrated. I really do feel bad for him, he isn't able to get out and about, he's stuck in the house day after day and he's in pain and all of these things are hard for him. Its just this is my day off, I would like to watch something on the tv and its not unreasonable. He then goes off to bed and the most frustrating part of it all is that he will deny being in a bad mood tomorrow and make out that he just wanted to go bed. He does it all the time - it's how he acts when he is in a mood.

I wish he would give me a break. Although I can get out and about I'm restricted in what I can do as I'm looking after him. Although I'm not in pain like he is, I'm equally frustrated in the sense that we cant be a normal couple and do normal couple things, I don't have support from him in running the house or shopping or anything like that. I'm looking after him, I'm working and doing all the house work.

And with all this I just get on with it and don't bother him with worries or whatever so that he can concentrate on getting better.

Ah well... Tomorrow hopefully he awakes in a better mood. Lol

Xxx

You really have taken on a lot and you have every right to be as frustrated as you are. You have your needs that need to be met just like he does, and you should get a chance to relax and unwind!

My situation's a little different, but like you, my OH and I can't really do a lot of normal couple things together, given that some responsible adult has to be with his dad at all times (hard to find a babysitter for a man in his 70's).

I'm very sorry OH is grumpy. :( I would hope he would show a little more gratitude for the things you do for him despite his discomfort. :fingerscrossed: for a higher-spirited, more gracious OH for Jen tomorrow! :heartpump:

Thanks for the understanding. Its nice to vent sometimes. Tomorrow he will be better hopefully and I will feel bad for moaning lol.

You've pointed out something that I should be thankful for though. I can get someone to look after him for a while if I'm feeling overwhelmed. Something that is difficult for yourself to do.

Thanks again missfortissimo xxxx
