Jen's Diary - 3lb down :)

Well done Jen:p You've got a week until next WI to worry about those mozzarella cubes, that'll be wee buns for you!:D (do you use that expression in Scotland? Wonder if it's part of the Scot's irish dialect:D?)

Well done on shedding yet another pound - you're doing so well. Like others have said, you have a whole week til WI so you've nowt to worry about. Take care and enjoy the week off work xxx

Another 1lb is great - and with your clawback power, the night out wont even register by next Friday

Hope you are feeling a little better now than earlier. Its such a weird reaction your body is having - but on the positive side, it means the thought of anything fatty and the resulting pain will be enough to put you off most things!!

12st 7 is absolutely brilliant - nearly 5 stones gone!!! I reckon 3 weeks to 5 stone....you must be looking amazing. xx

Hello!! so sorry about today Rosie! I ended up in hospital again last night. Those mozzarella cubes were not the best idea obviously! The wee NHS 24 woman just sent an ambulance round! Not impressed! By the time I was alright I still had about 3 hours while they did all the tests to make sure I was human again to cover their backs! Not ideal!! Apparently my gallbladder is not getting enough fat to work properly and cant get rid of all the fatty deposits that it is meant to and therefore is forming stones. So when I do eat something fatty, the gallbladder starts to contract and sends the wee stones hitting off all the muscles in my stomach! not ideal!! On the waiting list for the scan tho to confirm then its quite a simple thing to get rid of them! Don't understand how I can eat a curry and be fine, but mozzarella cubes send me over the edge! Shall stick to lettuce until it gets sorted! lol!
Maybe I should start eating more fat in my diet and counting the points. I am so strict with myself generally, I wont eat anything fatty cause I will think its "not worth" the points when I could have a huge chicken salad instead. I could be verging on unhealthy, I am just so determined to keep going that I am jeprodising my health, I get guilt trips if I feel I am eating something bad, couldn't even take a chocolate mouse from a kid the other day, had to take it and pretend to eat it then bin it! Thats not right is it!!! Oh I dont know what to do, i am aware I am waffling on a bit, just dont want another experience like that again cause it is the most pain i have ever felt in my life! Thank you all for your encouragement tho! :)

Sorry to hear you have been poorly

Is there so much fat we are supposed to have on WW? Shall have to go and look it up.

Take care
Irene x

Hi jen

Sorry you have had another gallstone attack. If you look it up on the internet "preventing gallstones" you will see that they recommend a low fat diet to help with attacks but also say it can aid production of gallstones. They argue that Low fat diets need supplementing with fibre and certain other things like olive oil etc. Sorry to poke my nose in but gallstones are a common side effect of weight loss surgery and I was interested to see what I could do to help myself prevent gallstones as they didn't manage to take mine out due to other problems at the op.

Take care and hope it gets sorted soon

Aww poor Jen :( My mum had them and she was lying on the bed screaming, yet she didn't make a noise when they drilled into her skull when she was fully awake! I hope you don't have another attack before they sort it out.

I don't think you should start eating "crap" if you don't want to, just add more good fats like olive oil, avocado, fish and nuts.

Sorry to hear you have been unwell again, gallstones can be so painful, my friend had then, but its a simple op to rectify and you will be as right as rain then, take care in the meantime x

I have no idea if there is a recommended amount of fat to have, I know I dont use olive oil or anything or eat anything with the good fats in them which isnt good. I think its just one of those things that can happen so some and not others. If you find anything about a recommended level then I would be most grateful! :)

Yeah I think that the low fat diet has caused them but if I stick to the low fat diet they dont cause a problem, its when I have my treat, like dimagios that causes the problems! Its like catch 22!! I cant go through life not ever having a treat tho, that would be a disaster! lol! I do love my food! Shall have to research it more, I am always scared to look symptoms up on the internet cause you normally end up thinking you have a terminal disease! lol!

I dont think I could eat crap, at this time anyway...dont quote me on it. I think youre right with the olive oil and stuff tho, I dont eat any fish either which isnt a good thing. (It does taste like feet tho!) I only use the 1 cal spray so olive oil is a def can do!
I liked the story about your mum! Makes me feel better too as I feel like such a wimp crawling about on my living room floor screaming! lol!

Yeah I think once I get my scan and its confirmed then they just blast them and its pretty painless. Its just all the waiting around that I hate, am going to investigate how much private health care is!

Thank you all so much for your kind messages! :)

Hiya jen.
Sorry to hear youve been to the ozzie again.
I agree with what jess says about introducing some "good fats" into your diet.
Well done on your loss this week, you are an inspiration.
Enjoy the holiday xx :)

Hi Jen, sorry to hear about the gallbladder attack. I had mine out when Josh was a baby (pregnancy can set them off) and the pain was awful. Still struggle a bit when eating high fat food but I got to the stage where I couldn't eat anything at all without pain!

I was really sorry not to see you at the weekend but glad you are now feeling a bit better - getting a text at 4.27am is always a worry!!!

Think the "good fats" suggestion from Jess is a good one - try adding some nuts and seeds to your oatsosimple - you can add about 10g for 1.5pts.

Olive oil for cooking is another good one.

Or, just steer clear of cheese - I suppose thats a big hit of bad fats in one little cube - quite concentrated while in a curry its diluted a bit.

Maybe next time I am up we can have that coffee....or maybe even another Panda outing - good job Chinese doesn't make you bad. xx

Panda makes me very bad!! lol! Read back a few weeks! sandy and I went the time you couldnt make it and I was ILLLLLL!!! lol! A little frankies is alright tho! :)

Ah thats made my night after sitting through the dire Britains Got talent...no it quite clearly doesnt!!lol!! Thank you angel xx

Poor Jen, sorry to hear about your health woes:( I've never had any bother with any type of stones but i know it's excrutiating.

Take it easy and i hope you can work out what you can and cannot eat until you get sorted!
