JessyG's food diary - positive and determined to shift the bulge

Hope you had a smashing weekend beautiful! How fabulous to have your sister in law doing the cake! Winner. Xx

We are going for a topsy turvy cake! 2 layers: White on the bottom with peppermint green four leaf clovers (to represent our engagement location!) in a chocolate cake, and stripes of blush pink green and white on the top to represent wedding colours in a vanilla sponge. Then edible flowers on the top!

Yes very lucky :) Not sure any of my maids would do what you did for your sis though ;) xxxx

Good morning lovely ladies

Unfortunately I gained 1lb this morning :/ but it was well deserved! ;)

I had a great and very busy weekend - I was out with girls from work on Friday night and copius amounts of wine and a few cheeky shots were drank. Food was delicious - goats cheese starter with a beetroot relish, and a falafel moroccan tagine! Saturday we had boiled egg and wholemeal pitta for soldiers for breakfast, a pulled pork burrito for lunch, and SW friendly chili for dinner. There was also a lot of wine had! Sunday I had poached eggs, toast, tomato sausage and bacon for breakfast; a jacket potato with pulled pork for lunch; 1/2 becks 1/2 guinness, and boiled eggs and wholemeal bread soldiers for dinner.

I am knackered ;) Did you ladies have a good one?

Eats for today: Grapes and Nuts for brekkie
Meeting a friend for lunch and fancy pasta or rissoto!
Afternoon snacks: Banana and raisins

Other food TBC :)

xxxx

Your cake sounds amazing!!! I love the idea of it both recognising your engagement and your wedding colours <3 awww!

Sorry to hear about the gain but glad that you weren't disappointed! Lunch sounds amazing... mmmm pasta! I'm planning some for dinner on Wednesday I think... either a carbonara or meatballs in a red pepper sauce, nommm!

Hehe I hadn't really thought of it like that but you're right! :)

I ended up going for a risotto which was amazing followed by icecream. Mmm carbonara sounds yummy. True although there were a few hidden extras like chocolate that crept in ;) xxxx

Morning beauties :)

Last nights boot camp was intense! And because me and James missed start of a rep as was having some water EVERYONE had to do an extra 5 mins! Oops! :/ hehe It was good fun though!

We had burgers last night which were yummy and quick and healthy :)

Also did the food shop and I've cooked up a batch of turkey and chorizo pasta bake for lunches!

Eats for today:
B: Protein, Banana, Strawberries and Grapes
L: Pasta bake
S: Nuts and raisins, pop crisps (4.5?)
D: Going to James' mum'a so will hopefully have another yummy recipe to share! Either way it will be healthy :)

I'll catch up on your diaries soon darlings xxxx

Seriously, can I marry into James' family?! I love Dianne's dinners! I bet you'll be looking forward to it ALL DAY!

My problem is that I don't like those little slivers of chorizo, I like buying the proper cured rings and eating chunks of it! SYN CITY!! xx

Hahaha, no!? I might use half for 4 portions and not syn it for the portion I eat at any given time! Would you??

Yeaaaa! I'd take half , de-skin it and then chop it up into fairly sizeable chunks... If I use less I find I can just use smoked paprika for a similar flavour. I am a greedy chorizo piggy which is why I avoid it! xx

Hahaha loving the sausagey chorizo chat...it's just sooooo damn good!! :)

And jessy when I read that you were going to 'James' mum'a'....I thought you were saying it in an Italian accent, like mammmma! Haha and thought hat she must be cooking up an Italian number! And then I realised it must be a typo...oops! I'm sure whatever she whipped up was delish!! Xxx

Haha i love chorizo and i too could just eat a ring of it! I like it lightly fried first!

Dianne did us a steak salad: steak strips, asparagus, mange tout, feta, beetroot, cucumber, tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, lettuce, in a mint dressing. Served with some soda bread. So no recipe to share this week BUT it was the nciest salad I have had in a long time, it truly was divine with the mint dressing.

We then shared a chocolate eclair - everyone wanted a whole one each but I was good and James and I shared :)

Eats for today:

B: Banana, Grapes, Strawberries, Protein shake
S: Nuts and raisins
L: Chorizo turkey pasta bake (2) with celery sticks to pad it out
S: Pop crips (4.5)
D: Some pork dish (haha Lil i will have pork this time)

xxxx

I had pork! Barbeque pork with roast sweet potato and asparagus! Nom!
