Jim's lazy Atkins diary

What the rain didn't get rid of the sun did x

Morning all, same here yesterday, bright sunny day, no rain, but the wind was icy, and the car was frozen this morning. Hope that's the last of the snow, great for kids, but it makes life difficult for the rest of us. No plans today, I need to go to my Mothers, she had a small leak in one of the bedrooms yesterday, I'm hoping it was just the amount of snow melt that caused it.

Hope all ok at your mums. We had hail and a thunderstorm last evening - not as bad as Taz though - she said she felt the house shake and the lightning lit up her lounge as if it had come in!!!! Don't like the sound of that x

Morning all, That doesn't sound good Gem, we didn't have any thunder or lightning I'm pleased to say. It's all a bit gloomy out there, don't think we'll be playing in the park today somehow. I couldn't find anywhere that seemed to be leaking, but the bottom of the bed by the wall is wet, I'll need to go over when it's raining I think.

Found out lightening had struck a house not far away blowing radiators off the wall and everything x

Morning all, wow Gem, now that is scary love

I'm off to buy a huge bunch of flowers and an anniversary card, it's our 40th (Ruby) wedding anniversary tomorrow. She just doesn't know how lucky she is to have me. ;)

The pictures on the telly were horrendous!!! Lucky the house was empty. Bloke was a fireman and one of the other firemen rang him and said "You'd better get home, we're at your place - its been struck by lightening"

Its our 40th this year Jim but not until July - Have a lovely day - Happy anniversary x

Morning all, we had a lovely day yesterday, we ate

1. Whitebait, yum yum
2. very spicy pork meat balls in a tomato sauce.
3. lentil verda, or something like that, anyway, lentils with other stuff.
4. Stuffed Tomatoes.
5. Canary potatos in a chilli and garlic sauce.
6. Spanish salad.

All very nice along with beautiful fresh baked bread and olives.

Glass of wine at £3.50 was reasonable, but charging £3.75 for 33Cl of San Miguel was a bit of a rip off in my book.

Total cost £39.70 for lunch for two. Not bad really.

Food sounds delicious Jim and congratulations to you both, wishing you many more years of good health and happiness together, love Sandra

first may i wish you both many more happy years together. :D
then may i ask about your meatballs ?
i'm having awful trouble with mine being dry...
by boiling them, does it keep them moister Jim ?
x

A good meal out Jim - and reasonable too x

Morning all, thank you for your good wishes. :)

as to the meat balls, I have no idea. LOL

what a wild and windy weekend we've had. Both our recycling bins have blown away, leaving bottles tins and paper all over the road, it's not just ours thankfully, I've had a wander round looking for ours but can't find them, hopefully some one will return them as they have our house number on. A big old Pine in a neighbours garden is down as well, taking some fences with it. Luckily the new shed that replaced out old one when it was blown away has survived, but it looks as though next doors conservatory has a few missing roof panes. Ah well, you just have to love weather. LOL

............and we've certainly had some weather recently x

Morning all, some nice person has returned our green bin, no sign of the blue one though. It's frozen out there this morning, don't think we'll be playing out some how. Might go over and take my Mum out, she and Olivia will like that, we'll probably go to the Wylde Green, it's a Hungry Horse now and has a kiddie play area.

Hungry Horse Sutton Coldfield | Wylde Green Sutton Coldfield

Morning all, more miserable weather out there. :(

We had a nice meal yesterday, not bad prices either, and then some fun playing in the kiddie area with Olivia. Looking forward to the Rugby again this weekend, last weekend was a belter, fantastic games. Also, i've heard my Army V Navy tickets have been allocates so roll on 27th April.
