Jim's lazy Atkins diary

Morning all, well she's off to kiddie school today, and seemed very happy to be going back. I had to take the car in for MOT this morning, passed with flying colours so no problem there, it was free as well, I don't know if all Honda dealers are doing this, but Colliers said, as we bought the car from them and they do the servicing then the MOT is free. I'm happy with that.

86Sounds good to me Jim - Glad litlun feeling better x

Morning all, yes Susie, what a change in the weather :( it's bloody freezing and the wind is reportedly coming from Siberia, wish they'd keep it myself.

It's been SOOOOO..... cold today Jim x

Morning all, damn right it is Gem, and no let up today, 3C max and wind chill factor -4C Brrrrrrr.

Just glad I'm not a brass monkey Jim x

Sounds lovely Jim - I want to see Les Mis too x

What was the verdict on Les Mis, Jim? I hope you recognised the Old Royal Naval College (where I work, in Greenwich) - they spent weeks filming there :)

Morning all, So that's where it was Susie, I felt I should recognise it. Well most of the women around us seemed to enjoy it, many were in tears at various points including Colleen. Me, well maybe it's my poor hearing but most of it, especially Russell Crow's singing just grated on my nerves. I was dying for just some spoken words!

Shame you didn't enjoy Jim - glad Colleen did though x

Morning all, I don't think that was because of the singing Gem, more to do with my hearing these days, it's not just that it'spoor, but there are whole pitches and scales i don't hear anymore. Most music and singing these days sounds flat to me. it's a shame because I really used to love music. These days i can really only listen to old stuff as my memory supplies the missing notes.

That's a shame Jim. As someone who loves music I would miss it very much - it's one of life's great joys for me x

Morning all,

I do have a digital hearing aid as well as an old analogue one, neither seems to help as far as music goes, both seem equally good at just increasing volume though. It is sad, but there is nothing much I can do about it really. Actually I'm a bugger, I rarely wear my hearing aid LOL, my friends have all learned to shout at me, Works fine. ;)

Did I mention Jamie has caught the Chicken Pox off Olivia, poor boy, he's absolutely covered in spots and itching like mad. I hear it's much worse as an adult.

Oh no the pox is awful when you're an adult, a friend of mine had it last year - he said it was like a horrible shivery flu :( Hope Jamie gets over it quickly!

Morning all, Yes Susie, he's been very ill, just starting to feel a little better now. NTR here, I totally dug out our herb plot, everything has gone wild over the last year. Time to start anew.

Now that I'm buying my flat, I'm going to start growing my own veg and herbs this year, really looking forward to it :)

I like fresh herbs - makes all the difference x
