Karenlou's diary - Hello, I'm home!

Hi Gemma. I'm having a lazy day today. Kissed OH goodbye and made his pack-up then went back to bed (with the dog hee hee). Got up about noon and now I'm pottering about on the internet. I have switched my work phone off and they can jolly well manage without me for a day :)

Diet-wise, I'm doing very well again today. Had my hot water and lemon and some fruit before going back to bed and just about to have leftover falafel and salad for lunch. I'm making bean and coriander casserole for dinner.

BUT HERE'S MY BIG NEWS!!!! I think I might have just bought my wedding dress!!! I've been looking at a white and silver sari on ebay for ages and I've gone and bought it! It's being sent from India so I won't get it for a couple of weeks but when I see it in the flesh I'll decide for definite if it's THE DRESS. If so, I'll have to get a sari petticoat to go with it (they sell them on ebay) and then find someone who can make me a choli (the little short sleeved blouse that goes with a sari) to go with it. :D

Oh Karen, that sounds lovely:D

Glad the diet is doing well, you are doing well on this detox! I wouldnt be able to manage it myself! xx

WOW that sounds amazing, I love Sari's I would love to live in India just to wear them everyday!

Yes, me too. I have a black and silver one that I bought at a charity Christmas market and my OH loves it so I have been toying with the idea of getting married in one.

I've now put a bid in on a two-piece white wedding dress on ebay - it's a long plain skirt with a corset style top with straps and I think it would lovely with the sari.

It's a size 16 and I'm an 18/20 at the moment so I'm confident it would fit by March - might even need taking in a bit :)

Ooooh, I like! :D

You'll have to show us a picture of you in it, when you get to a size 16 :D

Extra motivation, eh? :)

x

Oh yes! I'd be happy as a size 16 bride (although I wouldn't turn down a smaller size you understand!)

Once I can fit in them I'll post up a pic for you all to see. My OH doesn't come on here so it won't spoil the surprise for him.

I'm looking for some traditional indian jewellry as well now, bangles, tika, the lot :)

I was just searching to see if I still had an Indian bangle I was given years ago, and I discovered another jar of Options hot chocolate! :D Woohoo!

Unfortunately I don't think I have the bangle anymore, not sure what happened to it :(

x

Aw Karen both are lovely!!!! All this wedding talk is getting me excited for you! xx

Pity about the bangle but good news about the hot chocolate ;)

I'm all excited looking for jewellry now - apparently armlets are traditional Indian bridal wear as well. Might even get one of those nose rings with the little chain attached (or might not).

Awww....love the idea of the sari, I bought some sari fabric on ebay and made a lovely dress out of it, a bit like the one Angelina Jolie wore in Alexander...I love it to bits and no one else has it! You will be a totally unique bride x The top and skirt are lovely too...you'll know when you try them on which one is for you! V excited for you K-Lo!x

I thought I might suck up to my future sister in law and ask her to use the sari fabric to make an overskirt for the fishtail hemmed skirt (sort of looped across the front and pleated at the back edwardian-stylee) and use the rest of the sari as a pashmina.

How lovely Karen! I love them both and cannot wait to see the slimmer you in it. You will look beautiful :D

Fabulous!!

Yes, get the nose ring! Get your bridemaids to have them too and you can all be linked by a chain! Hehe.

Seriously though, that'll look lovely. It's quirky enough for your hair style but is still pretty and feminine.
