Karenlou's diary - Hello, I'm home!

I'm kind of hoping this will be as much a message to them about sorting my workload out as it is about me having a total rest and feeling better.

Oh poor you, really feel for you, I had 2 weeks off with stress about 3 1/2 years ago, your work will HAVE to listen to you now and do something! Best advice for being at home - don't have baddies in the house or otherwise you'll put on a stone just like I did!! Take care.

Sleep more :D I don't know about you, but I find that the more I sleep the less time I have to think about what's in the fridge

You should get an exercise video or something to keep you occupied ;)

Hopefully the doctor will give you your sick note, I really think you need it! Maybe not for a whole month, but for at least 2 weeks, adn it should send a message to your bosses that you ARE overworked, and something NEEDS to be done, or you're going to have to take more (paid) time off work :D

Fingers crossed for your WI :)

x

Thanks Jenni. I think I will be catching up on some sleep for the first week at least! There's not much room on the boat to do an exercise video but I thought I might do some yoga and stretches and might even wander over to the local swimming baths - assuming it's not crowded!

Generally on a weekday 9am-3pm it's fairly quiet at any swimming pool.
Past that you start getting kids etc.

Though watch out for swimming lessons which are sometimes on during the day :) though they normally only take up 1 lane.

I've discovered 0 point veg stir-frys - mushrooms, beans and broccoli, it's delicious :D all done in soy sauce, yum.

x

0 point stir frys are lovely - I like them as well. Oh, the last name of the woman I used to work with is Krasner and she definitely left to go to Hull so ask your sister to look out for her.

I have lost 1lb this week, which considering the blow-out I had over the weekend, is good going. I'm going to do points this week so that I can factor in comfort food if I need it.

I've been to the doctor and she has signed me off for two weeks and want to see me again a fortnight today. She thinks I need to work out why it seems to be in my nature to overwork until I break down as this has happened to me before. Everyone at work is being very nice; one of my colleagues has offered to come and do colour light therapy with me (don't know what that is!) but it's nice that people seem to care. In my last job when I went off with stress, people behaved as though I had leprosy.

Hey, I've just updated my ticker and realised I have lost another half a stone, which takes me to a stone and a half all together :D

That is great Karen well done x

Congrats :D I bet you're really pleased after this weekend :D
Just goes to show that you can have a mini blowout every now and again :D

Are you detoxing this week again? :)

x

Not the full-blown detox although I would like to. I'm going to do a slightly more relaxed version with some treats included to see if I can stay on track more easily. I've had a few weeks of a pound here and a pound there and I'd really like a good loss this week so want to do something I feel confident I can stick with for a full week.

congrats on your stone and a half! thats fantastic! :) good luck with your time off - find something you like doing to occupy yourself.. xmas is coming up so you could use that as an excuse to go out and at least walk round and window shop for a new xmas outfit for yourself :)

glad ur doc signed u off hunni and maybe take the time out to ponder what she did say!!

oh and well done on the 1lb delighted for u xxx

Yay well done on your loss hun :) thats fab news! And glad your GP has given you a sick note so you can take some time out and recover from the immensely stressful time you've been having lately xx

Well done you!!! Thats brilliant! another milestone reached eh! x :)

Thanks guys. Did a bit of early Christmas shopping today and also met my OH for lunch which was lovely. Saw a v nice pair of size 16 black jeans in New Look which I'm hoping will fit me soon - should have tried them on; I think I will try them next time I'm in town (Friday) :)

Making quorn sausage casserole with mash for tea. Sadly I blew 5 points on a bar of fruit and nut earlier and now I'm HUNGRY but if I eat anything now I won't have points left for a snack this evening and I tend to blow it if I don't have a few points for the evening.
