Kat1e's Diary - 7 years low carb - still learning!

oh yes - forgot to say that we got an order in from LCM yesterday. I only needed the shirataki noodles - but once you are paying for delivery it seems silly to waste it.....:D

Anyhow, so I also got:
- some vanilla shake sachets (2 different types) to test as dessert/breakfast things
- no carb maple syrup to test on almond pancakes one day (not quite yet) but also thought that might be nice for sticky marinades on meat. DH deeply suspicious of maple syrup with no sugar
- crystal orange mix, pineapple flavoured sf syrup and a pina colada mix (vodka is coming from tesco monday). The main thing DH is worrying about is cocktails for easter hols so he wants to test different ideas. Hmm - strange that focus on A.....:p

Anyhow - not planning to go crazy on any of this yet - still want to make sure I am in continuous loss mode first!

In heaven - sitting in the conservatory in the sun- just having a little mim made with a bit of new vanilla shake, decaf tea, DD quiet.....bliss
:D:D:D:D

Hahaha sounds lovely. I just visited my gran in her rehab hospital and it was nice having a sunny day for it.

Well another day almost over. I hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine today :D

I am currently round at my parents - since DH headed off for boys weekend, i came round to get fed dinner and for company! DD and i both staying over.

Mum has really been great about the food; she carefully organised legal starters and then roasted baby racks of lamb and gave me a ton! Plus yummy veg. Then dessert was special cheese from the fantastic little local speciality shop. Wow im stuffed!

Saturday:
B scrambled eggs and smoked salmon
L ham cheese "toastie", chorizo, celery
D olives and cheese, grilled calamari, half rack of lamb, brocolli, green beans, sprouts, cheese
S vanilla mim, mini pepperami, bit of cheese

W lots
E er walked 10 mins around the corner to parents
A oh yes - not missing out on the chateau neuf du pape - but just 2 glasses (saintly expression)

So here is to parents who are willing to help even when they think im crazy (lifts glass of water) :D

Xx

morning! yes, to the sunshine, was out in the garden all day, love days like that!

your mum sounds lovely, great she understands what low carb means, so many people think it just means no bread!

Good morning katie, hope you have another lovely day today :)

Morning Marty and Susan and all:)

Just looked at the rain radar - wow its going to be wet today!

Continuing lovely mum theme - my bacon and eggs were cooked for me this morning:D. And as for understanding - i think i may have bored her into submission on the subject lol

Xx

Morning Susie, good to "see" you :D

Hey your mum sounds great. Keeping mine a secret so that when I go and see her she will notice a difference in a positive way hahahahahaha! Your s/f orange mix, is that just to add to water? I know I shall get bored of plain water.

Just cooked an amazing chicken bacon and cheese omelette woo hoo loving this way of living xx

Afternoon Katie, your mum sounds a superstar :)

Thanks both - I'll tell her:D

Ref the orange mix - I've bought crystal light from the Low Carb Megastore - no idea what it is like though! I'm actually enjoying the plain water much of the time and decaf tea sometimes for hot. Before I was always drinking sparkling water but I seem to have gone off that a bit. Try asking on your thread or what eating today thread - there are lots of experts on mixers;)

Interested to know what you think of crystal light. I've never liked powdered drinks mixes but that one seems popular. Hope you're having a good sunday xx

Evening all. In a sunny mood even though it's raining outside as I can come to the brum meet :D:D:D:D:D
DH has organised to take DD to visit brother & family so will drop me off sat pm and pick me up sunday. So excited!

Had a lovely day - DH got back from boys weekend about 1ish for lunch. He was "a little tired" - was that from staying up too late? Not on your nelly - it was from not going to bed at all!!!!

DD has been pleasant & cheerful this weekend and we enjoyed spending the morning doing homework and valentines cards for daddy, grandma etc

A good food day - hopefully the week will pay off tomorrow

B bacon & eggs
L chicken and salad
D burgers, red cabbage, brocolli
S pepperami, teeny bit of left over mim with scraping of peanut butter, plus a chocolate vanilla mousse using one of my new shake mixes (still to try once DD is in bed!)

w lots
e 10 min walk and 15 mins on wii fit - oh well better than nothing!
a 1 glass of fleurie

Now some telly, mousse then roll on WI day:p

Thanks Susie and Rosebug.

Just had the mousse - it was delish:D

Basically a sachet of vanilla mix (dieti meal pudding/shake mix) (2c) with 1 egg white, water and a little cocoa. Whisked up and chilled for few hours. I poured it into two little ramekins and we had one each. Calculate approx 1.5-2 c

Now i need to test icecream variations next.....

Mmmm sounds good - please report back, I had serious icecream cravings todays (after seeing the mini magnum ad about 5 times in an hour) :)

I ordered some Atkins ready to drink shakes from LCM today and was very tempted by the dietimeal banana pudding mix but couldn't really justify either affording it or eating it when I'm trying to be extra clean and green right now. Did buy some crepe mix for pancake day though *planning ahead*

Woohoo -wi day - 1.5 kg off!
:D:D:D:D
