Morning all:)

Sorry a bit awol! Wi yesterday managed to lose those 2 pesky pounds so back to posted weight. Dinner thursday night good although i'm sure they snuck some cornflour into the stirfry;). However avoided wine, crumble, cake and fool so felt strong willed!

Couldnt sleep this morning until 30 mins before alarm - typical:( up early as off to a 9am zumba :eek: then rush back and get ready for my quarterly charity exec meeting. Straight after that i'm hosting the annual christmas party for volunteers - there will be wine, sandwiches and cakes - planning to avoid all of them:)

Hmm looking at that i'm exhausted! See you later:D

Morning all:)

Crashed about 10 last night after an exhausting but very succesful day. Lots of decisions and actions from the exec meeting - completed in only 1.5 hours which is unheard of for us! Then the xmas party for all the volunteers in my parents beautiful house - lucky they have it as i wouldn't have been able to get everyone in and they would have been tripping over all our clutter:eek: - i do of course blame DD completely;)

This morning feeling good as wearing my new East top and lots of compliments from DH. Off out to drinks at friends so will need to avoid yet more carbs!

I have been pondering xmas festivities and pre- maintenance....this time last year i was starting the annual food and booze merry go round. Eating anything that looked good and drinking tons. In someways it was a good thing - i felt so rough over the holidays that come new year i just had to do something...and found atkins:D

So this year i am going into the festivities in pre- maintenance and trying to decide how to play it. I want to practice my L plates of atkins woe while really not feeling restricted. I do NOT want to feel like last year!

Sooooo have decided to worry a bit less about whether i lose/maintain/gain some pounds over the hols and more consider how it is different to last year. Will still track my food and aim to stay feeling good but in my diary i'm going to note all the things i choose not to eat that is different from last year. Could be interesting;)

So starting with yesterday
Not eaten because it no longer looked attractive: mereingues, shortbread biscuits, sandwiches, mini choccie biscuits, mince pies, crisps
Not had but tempting: red wine, i could smell the cucumber in the sandwiches!

Techniques for success - i had two salami and cheese wraps for lunch - these are pretty high cal (500) and high fat so very satisfying. Lasted 5 hours in carb temptation land!

Hope i survive the party today too - planning wine but no nibblies before lunch.

That is such a brilliant attitude Katie - but I have always admired the way you make sure you have Atkins food handy so you're not tempted by carby stuff, and I think it's great you're allowing yourself a few things for Christmas - but making sure it's stuff you really want - because that sounds to me like the only way long term to keep on top of it.

Well done, hun! :D
 
You have your head in the right place for sure Katie... I found my first Christmas a la Atkins last year pretty easy, its amazing if you don't eat any of the things you shouldn't how you don't get tempted by them... satsumas were my sweet treat plus a few Crabbies!!

Am looking forward to getting thru another one pretty unscathed! I'm already amazed by my lack of interest in mince pies this year!

That's really good planning - I'm not going overboard but I'm still having traditional dinner, Xmas pudding & mince pies xx

Morning Katie, well planned love. I'm finding it easier this year as I've avoided all the parties I normally go to, being retired helps no end LOL
 
Evening all, thanks for the lovely comments - hope i can stick to plan!

Yesterday went well - enjoyed a couple of glasses of champagne at party 1 but avoided snacks and then a nice legal if late lunch. Once again supported by a pre party salami and cheese wrap! Party 2 was carols in the street - checked out the mulled wine and it didnt have tooo much sugar - we just managed to get the singing done before the heavens opened:eek:

So avoided: little salmon sandwiches, mince pies, chocolate refridgerator cake, juice, crisps, soup, bread

Today should have been a plenty of exercise day to work off some of those alcohol cals from the weekend. Belly dancing at lunch was ok, but then i go so engrossed in my email this evening that i totally forgot to go to zumba tonight! Whoops -upsides are it's raining, the traffic is appalling and at least my next zumba opportunity is tomorrow morning:D

Afternoon all:).

Nothing much to report today - haven't had lots of goodies to avoid yet this week;). Tried out a different zumba class this morning - had to go a bit slower than normal as yesterday's belly dancing seems to have triggered my sciatica - knew we were doing too many myers and sways (but very good for core muscles:) )

Also popped into m&s to change some trousers from the too large 18 down to a 16 -:D.

Off shortly to an afternoon of DD end of term performances and then out interviewing tonight
