Licking the Lid of Life....my esoteric diary

Ah now, pease pudding I like :)

that stottie bread looks good! That's quite some sandwich you have there. It looks very dense. I think I've ingested calories just looking at it. I don't often miss bread but looking at that makes me want some!!!

Its a long time since I ate a sarnie like that Sam - I got that pic courtesy of googlie lol - pease pudd I can eat out of the tub on its own and its FREE whoop

I dont often eat bread myself these days but on Thurs I had breadgate arghhhh not good for my target hopes at WI this week x

You disappoint, I thought the sandwich was REAL!! Haha.

Lmao maybe ill use it as my target treat and send a pic of the real thing :p

Yes! Although you may find that target fleeting if you ate all of it ;) I'm struggling a bit this week to get the 2lb off. (I know I shouldn't check) but his happened at Christmas too and it took a few weeks to get back on track. One thing I have learnt above everything else on slimming world is that even "a little bit" counts and my ability to get back on track mentally is good but my body lags behind by a week to ten days. Sometimes the little bit is worth it, some times it isn't. In the scheme of things it doesn't matter as long as the overall trend is downwards!

I have a week on Tuesday until my 32nd birthday. I would love to WI in at 12st 7lb on that morning (although official WI isn't until the wed) but if not I'll be sure to make it happen the following week. As long as I get to where I want to be in the end. I tried the hula hoop again last night but still too tender. Still no pilates DVD so I MAY nip out for a run this evening as long as it isn't lashing it down. Reckon I'm safe having looked at the weather haha. Its 70% chance
of heavy rain...... ;)

Ok I DIDNT run but I DID hoop last night. I tried to crack the reverse direction which is harder but I had some success. Some more bruising this morning on the other hip but no where near as vivid so maybe I'm getting the technique right! Going to see the school we were allocated for the munchkin this morning. Fingers crossed its as good as would like it to be. I'm still hopeful about our waiting list position for first choice but want to make sure this one is good too.

Happy Monday all. Not too long until the weekend. ;)

Today I wore a dress and tights without knee high boots for the first time. Yes I left the house with my calves exposed.

The world didn't stop turning and no natural disasters befell us. Who'd have thunk it?

So one of my two Easter pounds is gone. I'm a little disappointed that they went on in 2 days yet will take two weeks to go. Fingers crossed the other one, when it goes, take an extra couple of lb with it, as is my usual pattern. I'm getting the hang of my hula hooping and also did 30mins of pilates (which will take some practice!!)

all good :)

Oh if it only it went away as quick as it goes on that would be bliss! Well done in the loss!

I bought a hula hoop last night and played with it for about 45 minutes! It is SO much fun!! x

Do you have bruises? I have some rather fetching ones both sides now haha.

Well done on the loss! I'm sure you'll get the other one off shortly. I bet it felt great to go out in those boots.

Licking Fish Tanks and other things

Despite my name and the title of this entry I haven't actually licked a fish tank. That I'll admit to anyway. In fact what I did do was buy some spirulina today. Apparently a superfood that's good for supplementing a vegetarian diet. Chatted to the woman in holland and Barrett today and came away with a pouch of that and some flaxseed/linseed capsules for my omega fatty wotsits. She advised me to mix the spirulina with juiced fruits or a smoothie or something. Me being me tipped a heaped teaspoon into a glass topped it up (to the top - little did I know!) with cold water and used that to take two linseed capsules with. In for a penny in for a pound and all that jazz. Anyway. Nothing prepared me for A - the taste and B - the oddly saliva-texture. I know its algae but it WAS powdery! It tasted not unlike that taste you experience when you suck the water out of a fish tank and don't get the pipe into the bucket quick enough. We have all done it. It just this is concentrated by about 1000x. I have done my research and spirulina is well worth persevering with but I will be mixing it with faaaaar less water and taking it tequila shot style - minus the lemon and salt.

On another note. I bought my bike today! And very pretty she is too. She is a Schwinn Cream. Very American with a cute leather seat with pink writing on its rear. All I need now is a child seat, a helmet, a wicker basket and I'm good to go! Bring on the sunshine.....

I love those elegant bikes. I wish I could get one with a little motor! I realise that defeats the point, but if you lived where I do you'd appreciate the problem - Yorkshire is hilly!

If you get the chance, watch the sprint finish on the first day of Le Tour de France - it starts exactly where I live!

I think the fish-tank water may be an acquired taste which I don't fancy trying to obtain! Food and drink are meant for enjoyment not medicine (wanders off, sadly shaking head).

The bike I have plagiarised a pic of below (the second is better) because I have currently hidden it in my dads garage until I can work out where its going to live. We have very little room unfortunately. I need husband to get a lot of stuff (read crap) out of the shed! Its sooo pretty though and when I have a front basket and a little seat for the munchkin I'll be all set! A little early bday pres to me :)

Spirulina is algae and (apparently) is pretty much the most nutritious foodstuff available to man. It's all protein and amino acids and iron and b vitamins and so on and on. The benefits are really very far reaching. Since going veggie I have had an awfully sore top lip. Clearly some kind of deficiency, so I started with a multi-vit with iron, then went and go a high potency b vit supplement, neither of which made an iota of difference. Finally I'm trying those in combination with the spirulina and flaxseed. I have literally never eaten this well in my whole life so why does my lip still hurt?? I'm hoping that a shot of spirulina a day with the rest of it all may chip away at the deficiency. If anyone has any better ideas I'm open to offers?! I use lip balm, I've bought some really expensive
ones, some average ones and some Vaseline and they do nothing but relieve it. Once they wear off I'm back to being scared to smile. :(

Love that bike :heartpump:

As for the Vaseline, don't part with it just yet, you'll need it after riding the bike!
