Licking the Lid of Life....my esoteric diary

Evening Sam - how ya doin pet?

I love reading your pages just for the giggle value when im feeling bleughhh :D

I was told by my 2 adorable children ( 25 & 28 yrs) that I now have bingo wings and will I be toning up/do I want to borrow weights!!!! Thanks I said make a girl feel good why dontcha!!

Mine's nothing fancy! 38 inch red one which is heavier than a children's one as you might expect. I got it through - surprise - Amazon. It certainly raised eyebrows when it was delivered and it is one of the parcels OH got to know about!

Yes, not a good idea to knock the little one.

Hey lovely Sheila :)

Flo asked me once if I put cream (moisturiser) on my "belly to make it go away?"

How lovely. Kids.

I'm doing well now I'm back on it after the Easter weekend, how about you?

Ive had a pants food day today - woke up this morning totally not feeling SW at all dont know why!! Ive been out with daughter who is 20 weeks pregnant, she and my OH wanted sarnies and sausage rolls from Greggs so whilst there I thought I may as well have a sarnie too, A massive half stottie bread with tuna and cucumber. Wholemeal bread with lemoncurd for brekki and 2 big snack a jacks, then smoked cod and SW chips for tea, which whilst cooking I ate a saveloy!!

Not like me and ill be back on it tomorrow - but bleughh today. xx

Nice to know we all do it at times haha

I personally believe that the bleugh feeling is designed to remind us why we stick to plan 99% of the time! Sw's genetic predisposition.

And Patty, the one downside to sending husband to argos was that he knew not only what I'd bought but how much. Lady Pounds didn't help on this occasion....

Ooh thanks :) I was planning to a for 10-15 mins a day so in and around that figure. Hopefully it has the same effect. I'm combining it with pilates too as my core strength and lower back strength is shot to bits!

I managed over 12 mins on my first try. I'm immediately converted I have to say. Its soooo much easier than when I was a kid with a flimsy plastic hoop. I don't have one for little one because there is barely enough room for me to hoop, I'd be worried I'd knock her bandy with it if she got too close!!! Don't get me wrong, the comedy value is obvious but I'd still feel guilty. A bit. Im well impressed and can see how this and a return to pilates with a touch of running and maybe this blessed bike could really help shift the handles. I'm in no real rush so will take my time and introduce them piece by piece. What hoop do you have Patty? I opted for the Argos pro/thingy one. £14.99 was well worth it!!
Well done Sam, picks ours up tomorrow from Argos...... just ordered it on line for collection tomorrow....after reading your bit about it..... X

Oh that's good! I have to say I'm very impressed with it and its a bonus that it's an easy push lock so it comes apart easy for storage as it's pretty large once put together!! Let me know what you think of it!! X

Argh the bruises....!

Oh goodness - painful! But how come? (I've never got bruises from hooping)!

It reminds me of the time when I picked up a lot of ribald comments when I complained about bruises on my hip-bones. No - they weren't from what the dirty minds were thinking; they were from doing pushups in the bath!

Apparently it's really common when you first start. Plus this hoop is 1.3kg and I only went in one direction. Clearly my first mistake but if all accounts are true it fades and is only in the early days until technique improves. I take it as a sign that I did SOMETHING. Like a badge of honour haha

"Push ups in the bath"

:strikeout_button:

A likely story!

Why in the bath? Was there water in there? Surely that's dangerous! Slippery when wet.....

Honestly this has tickled me so much..."Oh those dirty minds!! How could they not know I was doing PUSH UPS IN THE BATH! Those FOOLS!"

I don't think I've ever heard anything that sounds more like a euphemism in all my life. ;)

Oh my god there WAS water in there. You are a home based adrenaline junkie. I was kidding. But then couldn't work out why you would do push ups in an empty bath either?

Maybe Ill hula hoop in my shower?

Gives a whole new meaning to "water sports"

That is SO FUNNY!

Did you get someone to come in and shout instructions from the toilet? "Come on Patty! Give it a bit of welly!" etc?

I hope you were wearing verucca socks?

Oh this is my favourite diary of them all - honestly, everyone here is barking mad! ;)
