Down day today. Had a slim and save oatmeal this morning. That always seems to fill me up nicely.

Today is DD so hoping for a small loss this week as have 2 DD and 1 UD left until WI

Hmm, struggled with DD yesterday and didn't drop as much weight as I would have hoped. Thinking of finishing the week with JUDDD but going back on SNS on Monday. Hopefully these 2 weeks on JUDDD will have kick started my metabolism again. Maybe I should do 2 weeks JUDDD and 2 weeks SNS. Might keep my metabolism up. Very weird that where it says .6 it puts in a smiley face

Morning! I've not weighed since Monday and was bummed with a STS. I like the two weeks VLCD, two weeks JUDDD idea. I'm so worried about messing up my metabolism (even more than I have).
 
Right I am back again. Thought I would start up my diary again. It helps me to post my weight each day so I can see how much it fluctuates.

So weigh in today and I am very surprised that my weight didn't go down more as only ate 400 calories yesterday, but there you go, our bodies are weird and wonderful things. I have to say that last Monday I started the week on a VLCD and stuck to it 5 days, so this lack of weight loss could be down to my glycogen stores refilling, so not worried about it. You have to give this way of eating (not going to call it a diet as it should be a long term thing, if not for the weightloss then for the health benefits) about 6 weeks.

Sunday - 174.4lb post UD loss of 0.8lb
Monday - 176.8lb post UD gain of 2.4lb
Tuesday - 176.4lb post DD loss of 0.4lb

The gains and losses are based on my weigh in on Saturday. Am trying to be good on my UP days and eating healthily with fewer carbs, but if I fancy a cake or pudding then I will have it so it doesn't feel like I am depriving myself. For breakfast today I had Spicy Fruit and Crumpets from The Hairy Bikers Cookbook, and it made a delicious change from my usual shredded wheat with a banana. Trying to decide what to have for lunch now that isn't bread. Am thinking of a jacket potato with baked beans and a small grating of cheese on the top. Dinner is going to be The Hairy Bikers Chicken Tagine which is low on calories but high on taste. And that's it from me today. Xx

Edited to add that I did have the jacket potato for lunch. I have just realized that my planned Friday DD cannot go ahead due to a lunch commitment. My son is studying to be a chef at college and is cooking a meal on Friday for parents and grandparents in the restaurant. We are booked to go along with my Mum and Stepdad. Not sure whether to do 5:2 this week or to have Saturday as my DD.

Sunday - 174.4lb post UD loss of 0.8lb
Monday - 176.8lb post UD gain of 2.4lb = +1.6 lb
Tuesday - 176.4lb post DD loss of 0.4lb = + 1.2 lb
Wednesday - 177.6lb post UD gain of 1.2lb = +2.4lb

Hmmm, not looking so good. I am wondering if I misread the scales on Sunday and they were really 2lb more than I thought. Had been drinking the night before. Lol. Would make more sense. Anyway, upwards and onwards. Not sure what I will eat today, probably tassimo Costa Latte for breakfast. Probably mushroom and baby bel light for lunch and then maybe a slim ans save banoffee porridge for dinner, which should bring me in under calories again.
 
I'm ok thanks! I guess after a week of VLCD it's possible you may get a very small or no loss this week? Hopefully you will, but I'd try not to worry too much about the numbers on the scales. I also weigh daily, I know alot of ppl say you shouldn't but I think it gives me a more accurate picture of my weight than a single snapshot.

Have you decided whether to do 2 or 3 DDs this week yet? Another option could be to do an intermediate day on Friday - so maybe 0-100kcal during the day & then the meal (could even be close to a DD depending on what the meals like?). You're so lucky having a cheffy son! Bet he cooks some gorgeous meals :)

It's a 3 course meal in his colleges restaurant with alcoholic drinks.. I could be good and order less fattening stuff but why should I when this diet is supposed to fit in with us. Lol

I have just read my diary from the beginning and actually although I was paranoid with my weight back then, I would actually be happy with those results right now. I know my size will change without the scales really moving. Still not sure about another down day as we may be out Saturday and from reading my diary 2 down days together never really worked for me.

*waving back. ? I am all well now and mended. It was never ME/CFS at all, it was all to do with my gallstones. I do have stomach ulcers too which are controlled with a daily tablet so I don't really have problems with that either. I also have no side effects whatsoever after having my gallbladder out regardless do what I eat.
 
Sounds like your all healed up now and ready for a stint on juddd, will follow your daily weigh ins closely as you previously had very interesting results, I LOVE the science behind it all and the fact that on UDs I can have all the things I LOVE that would have usually lead me to epic fails on other diets. :-D

Saturday - 175.2 - Official WI
Sunday - 174.4lb post UD loss of 0.8lb
Monday - 176.8lb post UD gain of 2.4lb = +1.6 lb
Tuesday - 176.4lb post DD loss of 0.4lb = + 1.2 lb
Wednesday - 177.6lb post UD gain of 1.2lb = +2.4lb
Thursday - 175lb post DD loss of 2.6lb = -0.2lb

I am going to count this as my Official WI for this week as the next 2 days are going to be UP days.

I noticed from reading back over my diary that I didn't count calories on UP days so I am going to do that and if I stall in my weightloss, I will then start counting. I am also going to use up my 500 calories on DD as it seems to be the swing of calories on UP days to DD that makes the difference and not the amount of calories. Nothing planned for next week except 2 evenings at the pub for quiz nights and they are on my UP days. Official WI next week will be Saturday again.

Pleased that I did actually get a loss this week however small as it was only 5 days.

Here is my menu for my fast day that came in at 477 calories.
Breakfast. Tassimo Costa coffee
Lunch. Slim and Save banoffee porridge.
Dinner. Tin of Heinz chicken noodle soup
Snacks. Options chocolate drink made with Almond milk instead of water (didn't like this too much)
2 cups. Coffee with dash of full fat milk.
 
Good morning everyone, how you all doing today?

Yesterday I went over my TDEE, but under 2000 calories still, so all good according to me. Today is another UP day and still haven't decided about tomorrow yet, might just see where my weight is tomorrow and then decide. We are out lunchtime today for a 3 course meal and drinks and tomorrow we are out with the boys, so not sure what we will be doing for lunch.

Today's weight then....

Thursday - Official WI 175lb
Friday - post UD - 176.4lb. (+1.4lb)

For breakfast today I have had an oat so simple porridge with 150ml full fat milk and some blueberries and raspberries on top, and a Tassimo Costa Latte. Off shopping now, so that will be my exercise for the day. Lol.
 
Today's weigh in was a lot less than I thought it would be. I was going to have a DD but have decided on an UP day, but being a bit more controlled in my eating, as yesterday must have been over 2000 calories.

Thursday - Official WI 175lb
Friday - post UD - 176.4lb. (+1.4lb)
Saturday - post UD - 176.6lb (+1.6lb)

Tomorrow will also be an UP day which means I will have had a 5:2 this week.

I stayed within my calorie allowance yesterday but ate loads of carbs, like last Sunday. I am thinking that the days after I eat a lot of carbs is the day I have the biggest weight gain.

I also went to give blood Friday but my blood count is very low. They were rather concerned and want me to see my Doctor. Me being me, I rarely go to the doctor so bought some stuff in Tesco that may help. It would explain the overwhelming tiredness I have felt lately tho. Just hope this diet hasn't made it worse.

Thinking that 5:2 is not going to work for me. I am too uncontrolled on UP days. So this week will be doing 4:3 in the hope that I can lose at least 4.8lb that I have put on. Nearly gave up this morning, but after a moment of panic decided to carry on, but do 4:3 instead.

Same!!! Don't know what to do. Did 4:3 last week and lost 1lb, only had coffee on my DDs so very fed up.

1lb a week on this diet is good. I only lost 0.2lb but it is downwards and it isn't too hard to do. I was actually thankful for a DD today as I felt so bloated from the last 4 days.
 
I actually love my DDs I feel in control and for that one day I can stick it. Yeah I suppose a pound a week tots up over time. I just have to stick to it no matter what.
