liquoricet's diary of a penguin runner

No, I don't think so. Relaxed a bit and counted in my head is the only thing. I'm wondering if it's my running as I had a month off in January (sickness) and through feb/march haven't had great losses. Perhaps my glycogen levels have re balanced?

Maybe. It's a great loss, you're doing grand xx

I'm at my parents till Thursday and in laws then till Tuesday so I'm relaxing a bit. My mum's a healthy cook and in laws are very slim so I'm just eating what I'm given and (mostly) avoiding obvious syns.

Well I think my sw plan is officially on holiday too. I've had more wine than normal, cake and today had ice cream, pizza and wine!

I had a very small meal at tea time as I'm honestly not hungry.

I've done more running than normal, I'm hoping that may balance things but who knows?

Back home and rather glad. I hadn't noticed how much bread my in laws eat before. It was wholemeal but still I feel bloated after eating 2-3 slices a day.

Back to normality anyway. Work tomorrow (boo).

I tried the piri piri chicken from the magazine with homemade marinade off the web. That was really pretty tasty and quite easy to make.

Sounds lovely!! How's the 10k training going? I still haven't done the full 10x

Hi Jennie, I managed a 10k over Easter (took an hour 40 mins so no prizes for speed). I've not done as well since then.

I did a 5k yesterday, I've no childcare tonight so thought an 8/9k tomorrow night all being well, then a 3k (with zombie chases on so intervals) after weigh in if I've time and something similar next week with maybe another 10k at the weekends.

What about you?

I'm not going to do the full 10k until the day. Aiming for about 8k next weekend then a couple of 5ks in the week running up to the big day.

I find the first 3k the hardest and if I'm having a bad day, it's really bad and I struggle with 3, if I have a normal day or good day once I pass the 3k it tends to get a bit easier for me. Strange but true.

Right, I'm moving weigh in to a Monday evening. The plan is I can then actually stay to group more easily without a toddler distracting me. I'm really hoping this consultant is good, I like my current one.

I've sometimes gone back to group on a Thursday evening but am joining rock choir which is on Thurs night. (And it's a pain driving there twice!)

I've not had a good week so far, getting my bupa 10k pack slightly panicked me. Anyway, my aim is to weigh the same at 7pm as 10am on the scales which would be a few pounds loss.

Well my scales say a lb loss which I'll be very happy with as I'm changing from a morning to evening weigh in. Fingers crossed.

I lost 2lb! Very pleased with that. 15.1 now so if I stay on plan I could get under 15st. I'd be very very happy with that!

Woop well done x

That's a great result, especially as you've changed from morning to evening WI. :D

Thanks both. It may partly have been because I went running earlier in the day but I'm hoping I can lose another 2lb this week to get to 14.13.

I need to stay on the case with my 10k in under a fortnight!

Gah dont know what's wrong with me. I have been eating the wrong foods since Tuesday (sweets, chocolate, ice lollies, wine) and seem unable to stop.

Good job tomorrow's another day. I'm going to go for a big run and try and clear my head. :( Is it a month since I last lost the plot? If so, I'll claim it's cyclical.
