LJ's Journey to be Slim by Sixty

Good luck with your WI fat2go. We will be waiting to see how you did. Sorry you have to do late shifts all week. Is it just for one week?

I am feeling a bit blah this morning. It's not like me. I wonder if it is the wine? They say it can depress you. Hopefully I will perk up later. I start work at 10.30 today so I am having a slow start. Nice cup of tea in my new fav teacup, then yogurt and fruit breakfast. Strawberry Muller Greek and two kiwi fruits. Lunch will be soup and bread. Dinner, well I will have to play that by ear. As usual I have no idea what time I will finish work.

It seems so long until I move in August. When I make a decision I want to act on it NOW. It's hard having to wait so long for it to happen. For those who don't know, I am giving up my job and moving to Cambridgeshire to live with my 80 year old mother who is struggling to manage on her own. I am happy to be going. All my close and extended family live there and I have been away for 13 years (I moved away when I got divorced). I am looking forward to returning to my roots and being part of the family again. I am tied to a contract on the flat I rent until late August so I must stay here and continue working to pay the rent.

Upndown, hope your car journey today goes smoothly with little Owen on board. I expect you will miss him when he is gone, despite what hard work it was having him there! Well done on planning ahead for your food today. Especially thinking about the evening meal out. Very organised! I think we will be hearing more from you again once you get home. You will have your Minimins time back again. LOL!

CJ, have a great day. I am sure we will be in touch by text as usual. What a good support you are to your old ma! Teehee!

Jules, every day it will get easier and less work to decide what to eat to stay on plan. Keep posting for lots of support and ask questions about anything we can help you with.

To the lurkers, have a brilliant SW day. Stay on plan and please think about joining in here. I would love to hear from you!

Aw sorry you have to work when all you want to do is curl up. I have a sleepy cat curled up on my feet. Hope work whizzes by for you. I love Cambridgeshire-I am from Norfolk so not that far away :) Bet your mum is looking forward to having you around more. You are right the more I get my head around slimming world the more easier it will become with what I can and cant eat-or eat but syn it :)

fat2go good luck with weigh in.

Oh yum! It doesn't look that pretty but it tastes delicious! I boiled up one cup of brown rice with two cups of frozen finely chopped veggies. It made four cups of food. I have half of it with a portion of chicken and sweet potato curry that was in my freezer. A little sprinkle of balsamic vinegar on the rice.

Your Tea looks lovely hun, hope you enjoyed it, and glad you were home from work at a reasonable time :)

Well done hun, I think healthy food is more filling :) I am going to make little man try things but dont want him to have to be told to eat everything on his plate-I hardly ever leave anything-maybe that should be one of my goals to stop eating when I am full too.

Hello all!

Busy busy busy day! I do like coming to check how everyone's day is going, it's nice to know your all our there in the same boat :)

I got up a bit late today, it was so cold and miserable outside! So breakfast was the worlds biggest banana and a handful of grapes. Lunch was a jacket potato from work (no butter just beans) then I take a Little pot of cheese weighed out for my healthy A! Then I snacked on grapes in The afternoon. Tea was a little odd.. Chicken and cheese omlette, with loads of salad and half a tiny jacket potato.. The other half didn't seem to be unfrozen! Hehe with a little cheese and beans on that.

I'm gonna start looking like a potato soon lol

Fat2go will be thinking slim thoughts for you for your WI, let us know how you get on! Sorry to hear about your night shifts.. I hope the week goes speedily for you!

Julez welcome to the gang. If you are anything like me and LJ.. We have become a little obsessed with food lol in a good way! My friend has recently joined SW to and she said her husband keeps complaining she's obsessed with food and her next meals hehe Your cat is very cute! I have 4 of the crazy furry things lol Me and my sister took in a skinny little stray.. Then 2 weeks later she popped out 3 wiggly little kittens! We couldn't part with them..:)

Upndown I bet you will enjoy a rest tonight once you have done all your driving. Have you found it easy to stick to plan with little Owen around? The soup is yummy! I am a little sad, I ordered myself one of those microwave soup cups to have at work, but it's not being delivered until tomorrow! So I won't be able to take my soup until weds!

Lj your tea looks nice! The days will soon fly by, it will be August before we know it and think of all the 1lbs that is for every week :)

I'm feeling positive for WI this week. I know I have been really good, eating loads of super free, so I expect great things lol Or a least 1lb off!

I had had an email yesterday from my group leader.. She said my food diary I handed in was lovely.. And that she had a giggle at my 6 chips... I said nooo that was 6 syns worth lol! I'd love to say I could limit myself to 6 yummy chips.. Hahaha

It's 3.30 in the morning and even though I am tired I am awake because I am hungry. Why?? I ate the same amount as normal yesterday. The only difference is that perhaps I didn't drink enough fluid because I have had a whole glass of sugarfree squash since I came to bed. The other thing is that I drank several glasses of diet coke yesterday afternoon. Will monitor my fluid intake more closely. I might buy some cheap fizzy water tomorrow for at work instead of the diet coke. It's the fizziness that I like really. The caffeine is not so significant.

Thanks CJ32. Think you maybe right about becoming obsessed as I cant sleep so planning my meals for today...my first green day-hope I get it right! Our little furry friends are the best, mines munching biscuits right now-seems very loud as its so quiet.

LJ22 Sorry you have been awake to in the night. I like tesco peach flavored fizzy water.

Morning all. This (weighing) week is going so fast. Weigh day is here tomorrow. I have been on plan but haven't done any walking. Any sort of loss will be good.

When I move I want to start going swimming. I enjoy swimming but feel too self conscious to go right now. After the move nobody will know me anyway and that will make it easier to start going. That and hopefully the company of CJ for moral support! Swimming surely is the best all over exercise for me as I have spinal arthritis and a painful knee, so many types of exercise are just not possible anymore. It's a shame. I used to be an avid runner when CJ was young. Running kept my weight down with no effort whatsoever. Ho hum, my body is just not up to it any longer.

Upndown I was thinking about your suggestion of yoga for stress reduction. I used to do yoga classes but realise that with my problems I am not able to lay flat on a hard surface, nor can I kneel. Both necessary to perform the yoga postures so that is not possible.

For now my only realistic option is walking. I can fit it in when the weather is dry and work allows and motivation is there. I am not going to spoil the enjoyment by making myself do it when I don't feel like it. I hope that as the weather improves and gets warmer I will be more inclined to get outside and walk. We shall see....

Have a good SW day everyone. I look forward to hearing how it goes and what you have eaten.

Well done on resisting the munchies, I cant wait for the warmer weather too :) xxx

I had something exciting happen tonight. For the first time in months and months I was able to zip my little dog inside my raincoat with me to keep her dry in this torrential rain. It had got to the point where I could only just zip up the coat around myself and that was not a nice feeling. It's things like this that spur me on, things like this that make it clear to me that I really am getting thinner rather than just weighing less. At the weekend I am going to measure myself. I keep my measurements in a notebook and have several years results to compare with.

Oooh that is exciting! Moments like that make it all worth it. When you can fit easily into the next size down or when your tight clothes get baggy and loose hehe

I am not really familiar with the green and red days. But I know LJ is going to try it out soon! At least you can compare notes.

How have you got on today?

i was thinking the same. The time between weigh ins speeds by! I am sure you will get at least your 1lb loss this week :)

is is good you are drinking more water, I have been trying. I have been buying the fizzy or still flavoured water.. Like Julez I like the peach one! Then I tend to drink more. I get bored of plain water.

When you move you can use my treadmill in the cold months :) I would like swimming to!

Hi LJ - sorry u didn't sleep well - I love the fizzy stuff 2 - but U may have heard that the diet versions can make u hungry cos they taste sweet so our bodies are expecting more than a gassy chemical so our bodies kick off with hunger pangs! Sound familiar? In the past I've weaned myself off diet fizzy drinks & always surprised how quickly I
get used to it but they're so handy on a diet aren't they? The water sounds a good idea. Hope u sleep better tonite. And good luck with WI!

I am sort of shocked how fast weigh in has come around. Then again it's another chance to be a little lighter! Also it means I am another week closer to moving so that is good. I didnt take a picture of my dinner to ight because it was not all that photogenic. Will list my days food here.

Breakfast: Muller Greek, 2 x kiwi fruits chopped, cup of tea with milk as HexA

Mid morning snack: banana, cup of tea

Lunch: homemade soup, homemade bread 60g HexB

Dinner: remaining half of brown rice and chopped veggie mix from last night with veg chilli from freezer

Evening snack: Muller Greek, banana

Syns: 2

I may have some time tomorrow afternoon to make some bread and some more leek and potato soup.
Must get some leeks for that and will add some frozen spinach to make it even healthier.
I did say I am going to do a green week but that may have to wait until after the weekend when I can do a proper shop. Hmm might have time tomorrow though. Need to plan a Green menu first.

Good luck for weigh in tomorrow everyone!
