Hello all!

Upndown well done on your confession and for getting back on the wagon. I think that is the key to this not punishing ourselves if we have a wobble and just let it go and climb back up the ladder onto the wagon! so you should be proud of yourself for that. Meal planning is definitely the key to success. It's pay day for me tomorrow.. And January has been a long month.. So it's been a bit bleak on the snack front this week lol so I can't wait to go shopping and stock up on yummy fruit and salad!

I was was having this conversation with LJ last night, does anyone else find real food to sweet now?? I had to have less sweetener in my mug cake last night lol

Jules good luck with your WI tomorrow, scary times I know! We will all be sending you slim thoughts :) How has your week gone?

LJ.. Chin up! Those days are speeding down and every weigh in is another week closer! Lots of exciting things to look forward to, just have to get those boring 6 months out of the way first. Unless I win lottery tomorrow night hehe hang in there!

Fat2 go how are you doing today? I will have to try your scotch egg recipe! Maybe this weekend :)

I am making the Sri Lankan Tamarind and Coconut Dahl for my dinner. It will be another half hour or so. I was feeling like snacking so I ate a banana and OWEE! My mouth is burning because I have been chopping chillies and even though I washed my hands it got on the banana as I was eating it. Lol! That'll teach me!

Editing to add that it smells absolutely scrumptious! I think it is going to taste yummy too.

CJ32 Thank you, My week has been ok thank you apart from 1 eve of eating some biscuits I have stayed on track.

LJ22 them chilies sound hot!

Jules, I won't say don't worry about WI tomorrow because I am the worlds biggest WI worrier! But I hope you get a pleasant surprise and find out that one little slip up doesn't mean you don't lose that week. Let us know how it goes. Whatever happens we are here to support. I have a feeling that you will have a good result. :)

My dahl recipe came out rather runny. Not very photogenic. It looks like curry coloured soup! Surely it should have some substance to it? It tastes really nice so I stirred it into my rice and ate it that way. I will freeze the remaining portions and after they are gone I am going to have another go with perhaps a little modification here and there.

CJ i am looking forward to lots of cooking get-togethers after I move. Only six months to go :-/ 185 days to be precise! So win that lottery pulleeze!

Hi - yes payday is always good - and if there's some treats in it for us - so much the better!

On the sweet tooth issue - am I the only one who however many or which type of diet I follow - I always hanker after the sweet stuff!

I've made some soup today - your tomato soup - everyone loved it so thanks for that- I also made some potato & leek so hopefully that'll help when the munchies visit again.

As you say we're all rooting for Jules WI!

I do still feel a need for something sweet after my dinner but I am finding that fruit or yogurt does the trick.

Just had a thought about my dahl as I was dishing it into freezer containers. I can use it as curry sauce. I can add cubes of chicken or veg. It is perfect for that. That is my plan. I must research what dahl is meant to be like before the next time I make it. Alternatively I could eat it for lunch in place of soup, with bread to dip in. Its only 2 syns a portion. And now i have to clean up the mess I made in the kitchen.

I hope you sort out the dahl - I'll skip that until the chief chef has found a solution!!

You sound more like yourself in these latest posts - hope you are feeling brighter?

I think I'm back on track - here's the day's food:

B'fast - banana

Lunch - SW potato & leek soup

Tea - Both SW soups

Snack - CJ's tomato soup

Treat - Freddo choc - 5 syns

HEB - bread

Coffee with milk - HEA

fruit tea - water - diet coke

Bread - HEB

Upndown I'm glad you liked the soup! I found it really yummy! I had the leek and potato soup for lunch today, that was yummy to! It's so easy to make, but so nice!

well done with your food today, I was craving chocolate tonight.. Even after I'd made myself a fudge mug cake with a shape fudge desert! Maybe fudge overload?! But I managed to just plan my weeks meals instead.. Phew!

Yes thanks, upndown. I do feel better now. Very tired though. Think its time I went to bed. Early start tomorrow. You had overload of soup today, didn't you? LOL!

I was looking through my recipe books for a fish curry recipe for CJ to make to use up the fish in her freezer when I came across a prawn and mango curry. I have some coconut milk and some fresh ginger left from my dahl ingredients and these are used in the prawn curry so, even though I am on a veggie week I might have one EE day and make that. Hope the remainder is freezable. It makes four portions. Just need to get some Thai red curry paste and I am there! I looked on Tescos website and they sell it so I will try and pop into my local one tomorrow. Hopefully it will turn out more successfully than the dahl. Its from the same book, the SW Taste of Asia book.

Goodnight all... :)

TGIF! The weekend is nearly here for the workers. Half day tomorrow.

A couple of days ago I was peeling some tangerines to eat. I chopped them up to put into yogurt. In the process I got the juice on my left hand. It burned like acid! The backs of my fingers are still sore. Patches of dry red skin. The tip of my tongue is also painful. It hurts to eat. I think I must avoid tangerines. What a shame i bought a whole bag of them.

now, I don't know if this is an effect of the green days but my appetite is almost non-existent. I have had a muller light just because I feel I should eat something as I won't get lunch until at least 1.30pm.

Have a good day everyone. Stay on plan. Be good! Jules, good luck for WI today.

LJ22, That Prawn and mango curry sound nice :) Sorry about your reaction to the tangerines :(

I lost 6 1/2lbs :) Happy with that, My BMI is under 50 now :) only small steps but a step in the right direction :) xxx

Brilliant loss Jules - I'm really pleased for you - wahey!! LJ must be a clairvoyant she said she had a good feeling about ur WI didn't she?

Why haven't u recorded the 0.5 pounds on ur stats - it all counts - if you don't want pls send it here!

oooh LJ what a nasty reaction - better stick to wine eh? Perhaps we shd all go on Green Days if they fill u up so much!

I still don't have much of an appetite but strangely enough choc and biscuits still hold their appeal!

I'm going to a funeral this afternoon - an elderly friend of my late parents then this evening - it's the under 21s Six Nations Rugby match at our local stadium - Wales v Italy. The senior matches are on Sat/Sun - wall to wall rugby weekend - anyone else like the game?

Hope CJ and fat2go are ok and that everyone has a good weekend whatever you're doing!

Thank you both.

I think I might be doing something wrong when I tried to put the 0.5 in it comes up with this message! "You did not enter the correct format for the Current Weight: field. Please read the field description for the expected format" I am not very good with computers-They dont like me!!!

Ok... Think I have done it right now :) xxx

Me again!! Sorry to keep posting :) Just wondered if anyone knew how many syns were in a muller light raspberry with chocolate sprinkles-I have just eaten one. Thank you.

Hope everyone is having a good eve.

I kind of lost interest in food today. I had planned to go to Tesco for some thai red curry paste to make prawn and mango curry but it was raining so hard and I was so cold that I just came straight home. I heated up some of the dahl I made last night and stirred it into the rest of the rice, also from last night, and that was my dinner. I followed it with a banana. Haven't eaten much today and not sure why my appetite is gone. I do feel tired too. I wonder if it's that winter SAD syndrome or is it lack of some sort of nutrient. Should I take some multivitamins for a few days?

Tomorrow I take delivery of a Philips Airfryer. Fat2go, it's your fault! Excited about it though. Been checking out recipes on Youtube. Amazing all the foods that can be cooked in it. It will save me waiting for and heating up my oven. Anyone else have one? I can foresee me getting a lot of use out of it even after I move when I am cooking for my mother as well. It will increase my repertoire of meals, save time, fuel costs, and be a healthy way to cook. Very low fat. My SW recipe folder is going to run into more than one volume I think!

How did everyone's day go? I know that CJ has just gone out for the evening but she is going to try and keep the syn level down. Upndown, I hope your afternoon was OK. Did you manage to stay on plan? Fat2go, your week of late shifts is over. Yay! Jules, sounds like you are on track for another good loss next week. Here is my intake for today.

Breakfast: Muller Light and a cup of tea with milk
Lunch: homemade soup, 60g homemade bread
Dinner: Dahl (2 syns), veg rice, banana
Drinks: sugarfree squash and diet coke, 1 cup of tea
Snacks: none

Failed on my green day. Only had one HexB and only a little milk in that one cup of tea for my HexA. Only 2 syns. It's not like me to not be wanting to eat! I do still have a sore mouth from the tangerine and the sore hand. That's not why I don't want to eat though. Tomorrow is a new day. Let's see what happens....
