LJ's Journey

I had a day off yesterday too! Except mine wasn't planned and I ate quite a lot of bad things :( Oh well, back on it today.

Don't beat yourself up about it :) The important bit is you are back on it! Good luck for a great week, I'll catch up on your diary today xxx

I'm having another of my mini-panics. I've been looking around different diaries on here, and I am definitely one of the slowest losers on this site. I must be doing something wrong. I just haven't a clue what it is! I was trying to figure out what I did differently the weeks I had big losses, and I can't think of anything. I am going to email my C my food diaries in a minute, hopefully he can help me figure it out.

Oh dear hun dont panic ive just had a read throu ur diary and u r defo not eatin enuff! And u shud defo always eat breakfast a typical day for me is first thing banana then weetabix milk apple for dinner sumthing like speed soup fruit salad then for tea spag bol and for afters anova fruit salad with mullerlight an options hot choc and some kinda treatsize mars bar. I lose an average ov 2lb a week n i neva feel deprived :)
Hope ur weight starts to go down :)

Thanks Emma, I will definitely try to take your advice on board :) I know how important breakfast is, I am just slack!

I am going to go for my bronze body magic award starting this week:
"To achieve your bronze Body Magic award, you’ll need to record 45 minutes of activity each week (over at least 3 days) maintained for 4 weeks."

That sounds doable, and gives me a non-weight goal to go for. I measured my waist today and have lost 5 inches in 2 weeks, yet the scales are frozen on 17st2lb. I just need to feel like I'm succeeding, I have been feeling really like a big failure.

Ur not a failure! Look at that inch loss i hav lost 2 1/2 stone n only just lost that inch loss :) ive just got my silver award working towards my gold :) just be careful not to over do it and the first few weeks ov starting exercise can cause fluid retention around the muscles to repair them but dont b disheartened it will start to show :) keep up the gud work the scales will start moving soon xxx

Thanks Emma, I'm feeling a lot more relaxed about it now, it's bound to pay off sooner or later! I need to obsess less about the scales and more about changing my lifestyle and habits :)

Food intake for today:

B: banana, yoghurt
L: 2 wm bread (HEB) with beans and 1 tbsp Philly (syns)
D: pasta with roasted veg and Philly with chives (HEA)

Right, from now, I am a new woman. I've got my magic porridge in the fridge for the morning, I am going to the gym and I am going to fix the zillions of syns I ate yesterday. At least I worked it out, I hadn't intended to, but it puts the rest of the week into perspective.

I'm glad I'm being honest with myself, and posting my food diary in a list like that has really helped me to see that actually, I have fallen off the wagon a bit more that I wanted to admit to myself. I'm not going to have no syns now, or anything drastic, just start getting more proactive and being more honest with myself.

Hi Lis
just read thru your diary, hope the exercise plans are coming along.
just some things looking at your food diaries you have posted, (you prob already know but just to make sure in case as it could be extra syns lurking)
When your doing the red days and having rice are you having brown rice or pasta and counting it as a HExB?
also your bertolli (which im presuming is spread?) make sure its a level teaspoon your having as a heaped one can mean tripple the syns (scary i know  )

you seem to have eaten lots more at the beginning of the plan compared to near the end, i really can say how brilliant this plan is for letting you eat masses of food (all healthy obvs ;) )

people loose weight at different rates and its important not to compare yourself with others, (tortoise and the hare) take it at your own pace learn from your mistakes and keep going no matter what. you WILL reach your target no matter how long it takes. dont try to take on too much or set your expectations too high (this is all stuff ive learnt from doing the plan previously, getting frustrated when its not working quick enough and swerving it and paying for it when the wieght has come back and brought its mates too lol)

Ive pretty much always been "big" in size (obvs not in height as im only 5'3") and its took me probably the best part of ten years to realise that enough is enough and that this time will be my last time at slimming world because im going to make it work. dont look at this as being on a diet and restricting yourself, look at it as a lifestyle change that in the long run is going to remove all the "restirctions" being overweight comes with.

sorry if i seem to have taken over with a big essay, i just didnt want you to loose balance after coming so far, your loss is amazing and something to be proud of. YOU did that no one else, so dont be too hard if you didnt go the gym one week, dont punish yourself. I think that can make you worse and make you retreat into old habits. look for the positive points, that yeah you may have maintained, but hey it wasnt a gain! reinforce the positive and the rest will follow in time, dont loose heart (i hope to see your journery in the mag one day :) )

sorry again for the essay (just hope some of it can help)

Hi Majella!

Thanks so much for your response, and your advice! I have been avoiding potato/rice/pasta on red days altogether to save myself too much weighing and measuring :)

As for my Tbsp... I bought a set of measuring spoons recently and always measure, as I know I have a tendency to underestimate syns! I hadn't noticed that my eating has reduced, but you are absolutely right! I will definitely make a point of eating throughout the day. I did a lot of reading about metabolism yesterday, so I know what I need to do now! The key areas I'm messing up is not drinking enough, skippin breakfast and not eating regularly enough, so I am gonna try to focus on those.

What's magic porridge. You sound really motivated!!

hey Gleesa :)

Magic porridge is oats so simple mixed with yoghurt and left in the fridge overnight. It was the first time I had it, and it was delicious!

I am feeling really motivated, no point feeling like a victim, its down to me to get my weight sorted, and to keep trying new things :) Thanks for your support lately, it helps alot :)

How are you getting on today?

I started my exercising today. I decided to not go to the gym, and get out my wii fit instead, its been years since I used it. I did 21 minutes, doesn't sound like loads, but I did the jogging section several times and worked up a hell of a sweat!

I think working out at home is actually far more realistic for me, especially at my current level of fitness. I'm just going to focus on my bronze body magic, anything extra is a bonus. The important part is getting into the routine of exercising regularly, so I think the 3 times a week thing for 4 weeks is just what I need right now. :D

I'm doing alright today. Just about to update my food diary. The wii fit is a good idea, might get my OH to plug the wii in for me (I'm useless at technology)

The exercise helps me in lots of different ways besides weightlos... my sleeping, my mental health, my skin, my water intake, and most importantly it motivates me to eat well :)
