Looking for a buddy for slimming world. Started 2 days ago!!

Thanks Aqua, I'm going for fruit for breakfast and then a ham salad for lunch. I'll bring a snack to eat the moment I'm off the scales as I know I'll be hungry. I've already cooked bolognaise ready to eat for when I get home after 8. Wish me luck, I'll let you know how it goes. Good luck to everyone who weighing in tomorrow xx

Evening ladies, ok so have been really good today, have only eaten all free and super free foods, however have had 9 syns as part of dessert this evening as my OH parents were round for dinner. I cooked a beef, shallot and mushroom stew, used two tablespoon of cornflour to thicken gravy, with carrot and swede mash and roast pots (with frylite) was yum, and then for dessert I tried the SW melting chocolate pudding, at 9 syns a serving I thought that seeing as we had guests and I hadnt used any syns all day then this wouldnt be bad. They worked, however turned out a little rubbery and maybe should have put a bit more sweetner in the batter but otherwise ok, however i struggled with the sauce, it didnt thicken like it said it should have...everyone liked them (not sure they would tell me if they didnt) but I didnt think they were worth using 9 syns for. Have just done an online food shop for the week and got ingredients to try smash pizzas and pancakes :) I too am worried about not losing or putting on this week, but hey we will see.....well done everyone, you all seem to be doing really well. link below for SW melting puds....

Hi Everyone,
I'm very pleased to say that at my first weigh in, I lost 7lbs, yay! I'm a very happy Cookie today, I know it's my first week so I'm not celebrating it with food just yet but think I'm going to treat myself to a new lipstick when I hit the Trafford Centre on Wednesday. Thanks for all our support and good luck to each of you on your weigh in days xx :happy036:

Wow!! That is fantastic!! Massive well done and your first half stone award! I'm really chuffed for you! Will let you know how my first weigh in goes Thursday but as I've been unwell and feeling crap I have a feeling it gonna be a gain :-( but I've only had 4 syns today, just wondering Lexi, how many syns a day have you been sticking too? X

Starting weight - 15st 4lbs

Thank you Beckyboo, you never know you may do better than you think! I'm just glad your feeling better and give it a proper good go for next week xx

Hi everyone didn't think I did that well on my sins today as we (me and hubby) went out for the day and had a pub lunch, however just worked out my sins for the day and the total is around 12. I also did a hard step and tone class at the gym this morning. Becky my sins seem to be all over the place lately but I think that is because I have had a few social things on and a few coming up. Usually I stick to around 10, Sunday is my worst day as that is my chocolate day, who would have though I could get so excited about a bar of chocolate. Cake is my downfall as I do like to finish off my tea with a piece of cake but I do count it, the Milky Way cake bars are 6 sins and the Jaffa cake bars are 4 1/2 sins so not too bad. Usually that and a glass of orange juice in the morning usually account for my sins. Glad cookie has done well hope the rest of you have as well.

Well done cookie!!! Fantastic loss! I am attending a group local to my sister tomorrow evening. I usually weigh in on a Wed so will be a bit different and to be honest won't be surprised if I put on but would Hope not to put on more than 1.5! I think that's realistic given the week that's in it! Have had syn free breakfasts and lunches but dinners haven't been syn free. Not sure for sure whether I've gone over the 15syns but some days definitely have. Also have only had one walk this week compared to my circuits class and 2DVD sessions and 2/3 good walks a week. Haven't pigged out at all so I'm happy with how it has gone!! So good to hear how everyone's doing!! Keep it up girls!!!

Lexi, sounds like your pretty good at finding the low syn goodies, I spent 20mins in tesco tonight looking at the biscuits and chocolate, just something small to stop the craving but I refrained in the end, Im definitely going to try a milky way cake bar, its in the evening, before bed, with a decaf cup of tea that I normally fancy something to nibble on. I got some AMAZING news today though, I have had the all clear for my knee, apparantly I had a very very micro fracture which does not require treatment and seems to be healing well, so I should be back to work asap and the doctor said its fine to exercise, if anything its good for it. So next week, watch out!! BMG sounds like your doing really really well given your circumstances, I think you will be suprised. Aqua, how are you doing? Hope you are feeling better?
Cookie, how many syns roughly are you sticking to at the moment? x

Hi Everyone Cookie well done on your fantastic weight loss - you must be over the moon. Good news re the knee Becky BMG sounds like it are doing well with being on hols and that's certainly commitmentbwithnweighingbat a. Lass near your sister. Lexi you certainly do a lot of exercise, I know it helps if you can. I was back at work yesterday but still taking cold/flu capsules but think the fall out of the virus goes on a while from those that have had it. Cooked Kung pao chicken last night from the Asian cookbook, did beef in Blackbean on Sat and the sesame sticky chicken from the book on Sun - all nice. :) ok time to go - start at work at 8 and have the drive in now. Have a good day everyone.

Hi Everyone
I'm still getting to grips with SW but on average I'm on around 10 syns per day, although i only had 6.5 yesterday, it just depends on if I'm hungry really. My challenge this week is, I'm out tomorrow for tea with the girlies then off to Blackpool with the BF on Saturday. I don't know where we're eating either! So to prepare I'm planning on having about 6.5 syns today so I've a little extra to cover me I'm going to drive too so I won't be tempted with the pink wine mmm xx

I've got my weigh in tomorrow and going to pick up my Asian cookbook, looking forward to doing some recipes out of there. I had the chicken, leek and potato pie tonight out of the extra easy cookbook and have enough for my lunch on Thursday. I also cooked a s/w spag Bol for tomorrow so other half only has to cook the pasta to go with it while I'm at class. I have a huge dish so loads left for lunches unless my son visits tomorrow if so it will all be gone, hubby says its lovely. Aqua I has that virus twice at the beginning of the year at it knocked me for six, I think I was out of the gym for about 3 weeks each time. You have to feel 100% fit to work out otherwise it can take you longer to get better. I'm having a new kitchen put in in a couple of weeks and a bit concerned about how I'm going to manage as I may not have a cooker for a few days let alone any work tops to prepare anything on, anyone got any ideas?

If you've got a slow cooker, then it'll be easy can cook a lovely casserole / stew with loads of veggies. My mum got us one 18 months ago and it's brilliant although we end up having 6 or 8 portions of whatever we've cooked as its huge. Xx

Hi Lexi. Chicken leek and potato pie sounds nice - I have that cookbook so will take a look. The Asian cookbook is great - enjoy :). Making the lemon chicken from it tomorrow. How about batch cooking and freezing Lexi - things like chilli, spaghetti Bol, recipes from Asia cookbook etc so you can microwave - you can get ready prepped rice sachets to microwave which are free, mugshots which are free to help, with snacky times, fruit bowl. Pray for sunshine and deploy hubby to the BBQ :) You can freeze homemade soups too.

Still feeling whacked today and v full on day again - but always the case in our office. Hubby told me off for not taking a break today, ate and worked, so need to get better at making myself move away from the desk so partly to blame for whacked out zone today.

Oo yes forgot that Cookie nice one. Schwartz chicken curry mix five syns a pkt then free ingredients - see pkt - it's yummy and bound to be lots of other casserole mixes and things you can do, Risotto cooks well in there too.

Ooh Aqua, I've never tried a risotto in it, I'll definitely consider it. I hope you manage to take a break from your desk tomorrow and your looking after yourself. Lexibell good luck with your weigh in tomorrow. Xx

I'd never made risotto until 2 weeks ago and do e one in slow cooker and one on job - definitely gets you cooking this plan. Finish 1.30 tomorrow so will eat and work but will ensure Th and Fri I get a break. Dry weather would help so I cook go outside with a cuppa on a bench then, we don't have a staff room unfortunately without trekking which swallows the break time so it's too easy to sit at the desk and eat - need a good summer to escape outside. High winds and rain in Cornwall tonight - oh joy lol
