Looking for a buddy for slimming world. Started 2 days ago!!

Tescos healthy choice Cumberland sausages = 0.5 syns each! Thought I should share that little gem nom nom :)

Morning :)
Glad you mentioned the Tesco's cumberland sausages Aquasharine, they are on my shopping list for this week, last week I tried the Morrisons eat smart cumberland sausages (1 syn each) and they were yummy, but Morrisons is quite far away from me.
Thanks BMG I agree the class has really spurred me on to try and lose as much weight as possible for next week. I like mini targets :) below is the link where I found the recipes for syn free rice pud, you do have to use milk from your HEa though, I made it and it was very yummy, took 2 hours to do in the slow cooker on high, had loads left however found that reheating the next day wasnt that easy as pudding rice tends to go mushy after a few hours.
My SW consultant told me about making pizza bases yesterday with smash.... not sure how that would turn out but she assured me it was very nice.
BMG..I agree with AS, I think try not to stress too much over what you are eating this week, you might just be suprised, some people see bigger losses when they least expect it :)
I managed to get OH keen in SW last night after he realised he had lost 2 pounds this week and he hasnt been trying, just eating the evening meals with me however he has also had a few takeaways and has a fascination for doritos. I love that this plan works for everyone.
Im a bit worried about the weekend though as OH is going away sailing until Sunday night which means cooking for one :-( and normally I dont bother or settle for a ding meal! My friend is having a jewellery party tomorrow night too and Im staying over so I can have a little drinky but I have found a lovely low alcohol, half calorie wine - First Cape Cafe collection, its 5.5% alcohol, I tried the white, It tastes very fruity and zesty and is only 11 syns for a 500ml bottle. I plan on taking two bottles or one if I can find a 75cl bottle. So saving 11 syns from today :) hope its not too naughty.....what have you all got planned for the weekend?

Oo low syn wine - going to have to look in Asda to see if they do a red - quite fussy with red wine though and normally count as a treat. Re rice pudding - how about cooking some sweet rice with water and then just mixed cooked rice into a muller light, someone mentioned that at my class - though I've not done it. Becky you could cook recipes and just freeze some, that way prep for future days as well as keeping you on track whilst OH away. My hubby has lost 9lbs since I've started the plans - he weighs in on Sat so 2:1 :) oh and shorts are less syns if you measure them, ie vodka, gin, bacardi, and don't do doubles - I have a jigger lol that's a spirit measurer Low cal mixers

Yeh, definitely a future plan freezing meals as im also going to take them to work, I work for the Ambulance service and so in a ten hour shift we only get a 30 minute break and could be back out on the road again so hoping this idea would work well. Im absolutely dying to get back to work, feel so lazy not going at the mo, but at least I have time to try all these yummy recipes. Fab idea with the sweet rice and muller light :). I have a shot measure too but only a 25ml one, however im not a big spirit drinker, wine is definitely my weakness. Love a glass of wine with a yummy dinner with OH in the evening. Really looking forward to tomorrow night but will have to be very good and stay on track all day so that the wine syns stay within my 2 day limit. So far so good today. AS are you feeling any better today?

P.s - I made the SW beef bourguignon the other day which was really lovely but I added some small boiled potatoes in so it was more like a beef stew with carrot and swede mash. Was delicious.

The tesco sausages are nice I had them on the BBQ last week they are quite peppery too. I'm going to try the pancakes tomorrow. The recipe is to mix you're daily allowance of porridge oats into a muller yogurt (I'm going to try vanilla) and leave overnight in the fridge. In the morning beat in two eggs and a little sweetener and then fry little batches in fry light and I assume they look like scotch pancakes. I'm going to have them with mixed berries and a little low fat creme fraiche. I had a hard workout in the gym this morning so pleased with that, just saving my sins for tonight. I am also going to try the rice pudding.

Lexibell they sound amazing, Im definitely going to have to try them, plz let us know how you get on with them :) xx

Pancakes sound great Lexi. Feeling better than I was thanks Becky - on Benyllin flu/cold caps, aiming to be back to work on Mon. Microwaveable pots are a good idea for work - makes you stop too, I'm terrible at munching and working through lunches at my desk and need to get better at taking a break, not always easy though. Enforced pj days by Mother Nature to make me stop but been reading my books and catching up on some back issues of SW mags so not all bad :)

Hello
i'm here to follow. I too am new to SW having only just joined on bank holiday Monday. Could do with the extra help and support and was thinking if i share my trials and tribulations I'm going to encounter then I'm thinking I shall hopefully stick to the diet and finally get to be joyously slim. First weigh in is on Monday :sigh: x

Glad your feeling better, there is alot going around at the moment. Yeah I know what you mean re munching if we get a standby point (which isnt normally that often) it is really difficult to not sit in the cab and just munch and its normally bad things like sweets and chocolate. Have you got anywhere at work that you can walk round, even just by eating your lunch whilst walking around the car park or something and you can put that down on your body magic weekly log. :) Im hoping I can get some exercise in as soon as my knee is given the all clear :). Im having a very lazy day today, just washing and drying OH sailing/wet weather gear so might have to motivate myself to try and go for a 20-30min walk later :)

Thank you for mentioning the SW magazine, it reminded me to phone up and subscribe by DD which Ive just done :) lots of people have said how good they are.

Welcome Cookie, how are you finding it so far?

Hi
A little confusing at first but I've read all the new member material and I'm getting there slowly. I was wondering if you can split your Hex a, I only use half the skimmed milk so can I then have half the cheese, I do like those laughing cow extra lights in a potato with beans x:)

I went to my first class yesterday although Ive been doing SW at home for 2 weeks now, you can split it apparently, my SW consultant yesterday mentioned that, it should say in your food optimising book too. :) The online food diary I am finding very useful at the moment. :)

Oh goody, thanks Beckyboo I clearly missed it. I'm doing the online diary too as we'll as a paper one I take out with me so I don't miss anything. I'm enjoying the food so far and the meal ideas people are sharing will help me too. I've got 3wks to go to my holidays I just wished I started SW earlier but all being well a good 7+ pounds of by then would be fabulous! X

Hi cookie welcome. I find the online diary is great for keeping me in check. If you go over the 15 sins a day you get a pop up on and so on. It makes me rethink what I'm going to have and pick something with less sins that keep me under the 15. I love the plan as you can adapt almost any recipe to make it free or low sin.

Hi Becky. If it's dry there are some benches in the new hospital residences built next to our dept, if it's wet/cold no where close enough and if I eat in the office my team still just ask me stuff - hoping for a good summer lol. Not doing body magic at the mo apart from the walk from the staff car park into main site which is a fair little walk in - should time it and log it and see if it counts for a body magic award :) might get back to aquafit in due course.

Welcome Cookie :)

Oh and SW mag you can get digital copies too - hubby bought me mini iPad for my birthday so I figure I can keep them all on there to save storage space - so I subscribed to digital copies - classes sell mags at the cheaper rate too when they come out too. I've been reading some of the old copies I had at home ( the current one has some great recipes by the way) I also bought two back issues on my iPad that I didn't have to make myself feel better about being ill - good excuse huh lol. I'll stop giving Lexi and BMG quite so much reading to catch up on next week when I'm back at the workhouse lol.

Thanks for making me welcome everyone. I do find I'm trying to eat lower syn value treats at the moment I particular enjoy Oreo cookies, you can get them in mini packs of two so I'm not tempted to eat the whole pack! There delicious and just 5 syns. Question, should I be aiming to eat all my syns each day as I've not felt the need yet, although I know I'm being very careful and I've no meals out before my weigh in x:)

Yeh you should definitely log it, if its moderate exercise and a min of 15mins 3x a week then it definitely counts, I absolutely love aqua aerobics, thats the first thing I plan to start back up when I get the all clear for my knee. Yeh when Im back at work I too will probably not be able to access the forum as freely. Ive actually been looking at buying an Ipad as I start a course at the end of the month for a year and hoping to then complete my 2 year paramedic course as of next Sep and thought an Ipad would be perfect to take to work to complete theory work on if I get chance . May have to treat myself :) albeit an expensive treat...

Cookie I think they say you must have your HXa and b everyday and some syns as it stops your body going into starvation mode which doesnt burn fat! The more overweight you are depends how many syns you have....i think, someone please correct me if this is wrong....

For everyone it's 5-15 syns a day and the usual recommendation for women is to aim for 10 but up to 15 and see how it goes. You need all sections of the plan to ensure a healthy balanced diet and it can slow down your weight loss if you don't. Read the notes in the syn section re flexible syns too which enables you to be in control and cope with social situations etc when needed. You do eat a lot on plan but it really does work. Be careful of mince meat as lean mince with less than 5% fat content only us free, others have syn values.

Becky I'm definitely going to log my walk in from the car park then :). My mini iPad was a complete surprise as we don't normally go that mad but it's getting a lot if use. Good size to hold and great for books etc too. :)
