Hi all, I can't believe it is nearly 3 months since i was on here. I have had a great summer, but all the weight is back on. Today is a new start, over the last year I have been feeling sorry for myself, my 2 eldest daughters have been away, The eldest in New York working and the middle one in France on an erasmus year.Yesterday my youngest went away to college and middle one went back to college, so me and OH are on our own after 24 years with kids around. So I have a choice spend another year being sad or embrace the next phase of my life, I have decided to embrace the next phase (I hope).
I am going to spend the next 3 months focusing totally on myself, on my relationship and on sorting the house and garden. Over the summer I have been downloading lots of health books to my kindle to decide exactly how I am going to loose the weight. I have read books on juicing, making green smoothies and low carbing.
I am going to start on the green smoothies and see how I get on, when I get bored with that I will do a no sugar no grain diet (although the green smoothie diet is no sugar, other that fruits and also no grain),but the no sugar no grain allows for more foods, when that stops working I will then look to reducing the carbs. I am currently reading a book where the author recommends keeping an eye on the amount of protein that we eat as excess protein converts to glucose and can affect weight loss when low carbing.
I won't be keeping a food diary on here but will update on a weekly basis as to how I am doing. I hope nobody minds me keeping the diary here even though I won't be following Atkins. I want to remind myself of my goals any time I want to give up. I have a significant birthday next July and I am determined to be at my target weight by then, which is very doable.
