M-Mouse's Droppings

Morning hon'. Showing off more domestic godessness this morning - scoffing some homemade vanilla ice cream :) Dukan friendly of course!

oh how did you make that? im making cinnamon ice cream tonight :D not dukan friendly but lots of double cream

Well I started trying to make 'double cream' out of skimmed milk, vanilla and sweetener with my bamix, and then by the time I had done it I didn't really want it any more so I stuck it back in the freezer. I rescued it this morning and ate it as ice cream. As ice cream it was better than nothing, but not as good as the real thing and not a patch on your cinammon affair!

its never too cold for ice cream. You could have atop a hot mince pie :D anyway the only reason im making it is cos ive got a huge tub of cream that needs using up!

Yum yum yum!! I know I have a bit of an imagination but I don't think I can run to Dukan Mince pies :) - unless they're filled with minced beef!

Moving swiftly off the mince pie subject (I've a box here right under my nose that I'm going to mystify some French people with later on...), my other half eats Magnums in front of the fire year round!

Ooh I love mince pies - not had any this year :-( I wonder if Dr Du has a recipe, complete with swede instead of dried fruit and brandy flavouring :)

Did you Brits not get his yuletide email?

Roughly and quickly translated, he says:
Each rule has its exceptions
And here are two which will please you: Christmas and New Year. If you are really into your diet and you’re hyper motivated, comfortably seated on the victory bulldozer, read no further.

For the others, my opinion is that to follow the diet during the holiday costs more in motivation than at any other time of the year and that if your stock of motivation is low, don’t use it up. Here therefore is my advice:
For each of these two meals:
For your aperitif, avoid peanuts and pistachio nuts.
Your starter will be yours whatever it is, including the slice of wholemeal bread accompanying it, but if it’s smoked salmon or seafood, better still.
For the main course, you will inevitably have a land or sea protein – enjoy it. To accompany it, there will be vegetables for you and they are yours, and either rice, pasta, and you may have HALF A PORTION.
In dessert, there too, serve yourself HALF A PORTION.
For alcohol, a glass of red wine or a glass of champagne but no more.
And no seconds.

The following day, return to protein and vegetables, or even pure proteins if you can, and a 45 minute walk.

Happy holidays

Thanks Jo - maybe I will forgive him after all. I just got the email with his cruddy recipe ideas :D

The thing is his ideas run with the sort of meal the French have on those occasion. Smoked salmon, seafood, poulty and veg maybe some rice, and whatever dessert. I can't imagine that sort of fodder being on any of our (groaning) tables on the 25th somehow!

Why would we want to have rice or pasta as a treat for christmas?
bah humbug dr d ;)

Can't see my lot being happy with rice or pasta, but then I guess it is because he is French and he wouldn't know a roastie if it bit him on the nose? But, as My dear old Nan would have said 'Better than a smack in the belly with a wet fish' (Dukan fish of course).

he is a miserable tw*t one glass no more! whatever.
Dr Vickys diet :-

One glass of wine or champage NO more than one every half hour ;)
eat what you like on xmas day you know you are going to anyway. Gasp in horror on the scales beginning Jan and go back on dukan and lose wow half a stone in one week ;)

Ooh err missis!!

He really is a miserable B******.

I would love to be a fly on the wall for his celebrations :)

When do you finish work? I have ended up letting all my team have time off this week, so I have to work until lunchtime xmas eve:cry:- then straight down to Wales with a carful!
