Ref the up a tonne and down 7lbs in a week syndrome - not for me - cos I'm not weighing in before restart! All this upping and downing wears me down! (It's partly fake "gain" and "loss" anyway so pretty futile charting it methinks...)
I dont finish till xmas eve but my boss is in tomorrow. im going to to tug at heartstrings and say omg the weather is soooo bad in northumberland i dont want to be driving in the dark on friday...hoping he will give me day off
OMG Vicks, isn't Northumberland even further North than Cleveland? Isn't it nearly Scotland? Oh you must have the most gorgeous accent.

Mouse lol - you'll have a headstart on that thread!! I'm at work for another two minutes, then heading for Calais... on an almost midnight boat (hopefully!)... should be at my Dad's by 5am I reckon, with a full food shop done! Sleep? me? zzzzzzzzzzz at the mere thought of it!

Good morning everyone. Was meant to be in the office today but have decided to WFH again (4th day) because my tummy feels as though it might explode. Having acupuncture at lunchtime which will hopefully help.
I have promised my acupuncturist a bag of sprouts from the garden, but I can't face going out and picking them in the cold and snow. I think I will pay my Son to pick them for me, because he is saving towards a rugby trip to Italy. If he doesn't get up soon, I will have to start making lots of noise to wake him up, or alternatively send the cats in!
I am going to try and get out to do some food shopping this evening. I said we would take it all up to Wales so FIL didn't have to worry, but I am starting to wonder how we are going to get it all in the car!
I am working from home until lunchtime on Friday and then straight off up to Wales. I hope the roads are ok - the motorway should be fine, although when we went earlier this on the radio was warning of 26 mile tailbacks on the M4 due to snow, but luckily it had cleared by the time we got there.
The kitten is going crazy over the Christmas tree. Now the snow has finally melted, DD was able to decorate last night. What I hadn't realised however was that she had put my only two glass ornaments on the bottom of the tree....make that one glass ornament - now removed for safety!

Morning! Working until Friday lunchtime so can't leave for Wales until then.
How far is it for you to Northumberland? Are the girls going with you? I am leaving the cats here but I think I will shut them out of reach of the ruddy christmas tree, or there'll be nothing left of it by the time we get back.
Going to make some of the Jamie mince pies tonight and also some lime curd so I can make a quick mousse while I am away. I am guessing the forum will start to quieten up for a while soon before it busies up again in January!I will take my laptop away with me but I will have to rely on piggybacking on a neighbour's unsecure connection

I think the forum will be in waves this year i will be back on the 28th but no doubt log in xmas day as im sad like that the rest will be back January , I dont want to fall of the wagon that long or id never catch it up to jump back on !!!

Its about hour and half away. snowing here again and has laid
Are you off to rellies? Do you have more dogs to contend with where you are going? The thing I am dreading about Wales is that FIL doesn't have central heating - MIL always heavily disapproved of it (amazing really considering she always felt the cold!!)
Anyway the house is bloody freezing at the best of times, apart from the living room with the gas fire, so you have to get dressed/undressed in bed (or I do, anyway!!) Hubby is going shopping this afternoon so he has instructions to buy me at least 2 hot water bottles
The first christmas I spent with my oh he told me he didn't do christmas and he didn't buy presents. It got to Chrimbo morning, adn he really didn't buy presents
He has however mellowed since the kids were born but he worries about getting things I won't like, so I have to give him a list - but at least it means I get things I want!
