M-Mouse's Droppings

I do catch glimpses of your food in your thread, cos I do read it most days, just that I don't know many of your fans so I don't speak much!

I don't mind what you write oin my diary :) Not been taking the floradix since before Xmas anyway as trying to use up the waitrose ones first!! I feel so much healthier eating veg every day. I am going to have to put the other 3 portions of cheeseburger pie in teh freezer when cold, before I eat the lot!! I skipped the onion today as I think you are right - it is pretty carbspensive for the amount, and I added some chopped cauli for bulk and some spinach. Yummmm Still not drunk all my water yet!!

Thanks... if I can remember my name and p/word, I'll have a peek!

Jo...I can say today (thanks Kim for letting me post)
atkins shake
lunch - 2 slices corned beef, about 50g smoked ham, handful of rocket and tbsp mayo with some mustard
dinner - 1 asda chilli burger (88g) with 40g ilchester cheese, pack of asparagus and tbsp mayp maybe.
Have got some babybel with me if hungry but tbh still have 1/4 of my lunch left.
drinking - 1 cup of tea with naughty milk, 1/2 litre of water with berocca, 1 1.2 litres water so far and 3 black coffees

Kim I think the reason you like this is there is much more cooking involved than dukan you think? You seem like you enjoy it and you come up with some great ideas. (thats the way it looks anyway).
yes freeze the pie or keep some in the fridge and have it tomorrow?

ive never been so inventive and when i look at things to buy i come up with all sorts, for example next weekend (not this one) im making thai curry with coconut milk (nom nom) a nice fiery chilli :-tinned tomatoes, mushrooms and stuff.
This weekend a ginger beer (sugar/alcohol free thing) boiled ham, meatloaf next for the week ahead.

must drink more water!

I do like to cook and yes I am inventive - although not always successfully! I may be moaning about lack of loss, but not putting on so relatively happy really. Compared to how big I have been in the past I feel relatively small now; I have never been thin. I have been digging out all kinds of clothes that I've not worn for years and if I go to a shop I can buy normal sized things and be fairly confident they will fit. It is in the back of my mind that when I lose anopther couple of stones, I will end up with excess skin due to my tummy.

if you keep well hydrated, lose slowly and exercise your tummy muscles you will be fine x

ooh were the chips nice? Ive got celeriac and turnip coming in my delivery tonight :) so lamb steaks with goats cheese and turnip chips for tea tomorrow and chorizo and pork sossies with egg and chips for tea on saturday yummy yummy.
oh also going to make some parmesan crisps for nibbles :)

Well, I'm losing slowly:D

Mmm yum. I was going to make parmesan crisps a couple of days ago but didn't have parmesan so used cheddat instead. They stuck a bit and I out a bit too much cayenne in them!! I also burned them a bit - apart from that they were great!!

The swede was good. I like celeriac, turnip and swede chipped and tbh they taste fairly similar to me, although I think the swede tasted a little more dense, like potato. I like the celeriac but think it is quite expensive, and I don't like the smell when prepping it.

i actually prefer these chips to normal ones! (apart from i have to cook them LOL)
ooh could make turnip and celeriac crisps too? i love veg crisps

Have you tried chick pea peanuts? I used to love 'em.

Vicky, I can't remember the last time I ate a proper chip, so these taste like such a treat to me! I ave a veggie slicer thing so I could make some veggie crisps - yum.

Jo, I did sort of dry some chick peas once - and they were lush. What I adore is wasabi peas - I guess you could have wasabi chick peas too. The wasabi means you can't really eat too many!

Nope - How do you make them? Just dry them out?
I have a veggie slicer its very dangerous. I think ill make some parmesan and turnip crisps this weekend, along with ginger ham :) they will be hardly any carbs if you only use a little?

Oh the ginger ham sounds divine. I got some sliced ham that I baked a while back out of teh freezer for dinner tonight. The trouble is with veggie crisps, you risk life and limb (luiterally) making them and then people scoff them very quickly!! The chick peas I just baked cooked ones on a very low heat I think, with a spray of fry light. Do you bake your veggie crisps?

Ive never made the crisps hon. maybe i wont bother then will save my nip for chips :) and make parmesan crisps for trying my dietimeal soup.
oh havent had any choccies. but atkins bars are yum yum yum :)

chick pea peanuts - NOT DUKAN of course!

Easiest is to buy a tin of pre-soaked pre-cooked (or soak your own overnight). Onto a baking sheet, bit of salt on top, and roast at
200°C for 30-40 mins.

sounds lovely Jo. :) mmmm
Kim - which site do you order from? did the other not have the stock in?

I was waiting for the ginger syrup to come into the low carb megastore and it has now, but then I saw they do chocolate syrup too - Could make a choc drink out of it? But that is out of stock too so I may wait until that is in!
