yes i know about the book its a good read Jo. a lot different from the original though!

So Vicky, you said you wanted to up your carbs, why not do it with a galette or something? My oatbran + wheatbran isn't adding on many carbs (without even getting into the "do we keep it/should we count it as the oatbran is indigestible" discussion)...
i will eventually but using 16g of carbs (yes i would count them) when i will to start only have 25 per day is a lot. i like to use about 10 on veg.
Re salad....rocket and avocado is enough for me. celery ... rarely...cucumber yes ive got some on list for shopping as have tomatoes (ok ok to go with my cambazola nothing better!). i have some olives in the fridge ill add with my meatloaf for lunch next week too.

The original was scoop butter out of the butter dish straight into your mouth, wasn't it?!! ;) I know the original book was modified intensely (as has Dukan's been)... (yet their original plans must have worked... where weight loss is concerned at least! )

I managed 16g carbs on one meal of veg. They certainly add up, but they're good 'uns compared to those we favoured over Christmas at least!
 
Lol Yes :) a vat of lard and twelve blocks of cheese ;) you still need to eat more fat than protein though for it to work or the protein turns to glucose.
must say im terribly bloated and fed up today :(
 
I'm necessarily confused at that more fat than protein for it to work point, since with Dukan it's not a lot of fat and it works! Both are pretty low calorie actually when you look at it. Dukan more than Atkins seemingly (cos of the lack of fat, I guess).

MFP is a great tool for me to use to ensure I don't let calories get too low.

Hi everyone; didn't get home this afternoon. With my salad I have just been having rocket as I have been weighing my veg until I have a better idea of quantities and am being a bit lazy!

Food today
B - smoked salmon and egg mayo (the smelly person on the train again)
L - ham and rocket salad
s - atkins choc bar
d - roast duck, sprouts
2 atkins crackers with cheese

You certainly have a thing about gammon at the moment (and I quite understand!!). I'm the same with salmon and chicken (fortunately given the diet I'm on!!).

Nearly home time. Doubt tomorrow will be any better than today cos a colleague is off so all her people will be on their knees begging for help too... aaaah!

Yeah Mouse... I keep hearing "enjoy the veg on Atkins", but I'm not seeing much (not just here!!). I seem to eat far more veg than most - even though every other day - and I still have trouble with the concept that I perhaps oughtn't to lose more (water) weight!
 
I have lots of veg too, Jo, I couldn't restrict myself to a tbs of beans or whatever. It hasn't done me any harm so far!

Hi guys and thanks for your thoughts. Giving the dark and cheesy side one last go this week, whilst trying to give up my painkillers for a week (according to the book that is what is stalling me).
