MAMA22 diary

Hi Mama22 --

I'm having an exciting day -- how about you?

Tuesday tomorrow and bless my sister 10 days on only 2 pints of skimmed milk and 2 100 g yogurts. She's has done so well and she got TOTM start 2 days ago (I am getting all her chocolate craving I'm sure lol) Wednesday is D day or op day. She came up today and I asked a lot of questions and she is having the full bypass I.e. moving the pipe that joins the top of the stomach to the bottom. Worried much yes (think that why I'm eating)

Good luck for tomorrow. I am sure she will be fine, the drs know what they are doing.

STS for me this week, happy it's not a gain but must be stronger this week. TBH with the amount of meals AND snacks I have had that's good, had a meal everyday and chocolate also wine this weekend.

Evening M22 --

I can imagine how concerned you are -- and this is a risky and ife changing event for your sister.

STS for me this week, happy it's not a gain but must be stronger this week. TBH with the amount of meals AND snacks I have had that's good, had a meal everyday and chocolate also wine this weekend.

I'll take a STS over a gain -- and you'll do better once this op is over your sister is adjusted to it.

I have been 100% today 3 shakes then basa and asparagus also 20 min cardio (cross-trainer) couldn't do and more as hubby was feeding the girlies tea and it was coming up for bed time.

What's basa?

Good on you for the cardio -- that'll help boost your BMR.

Any news on your sister?

Mel basa is a white fish much lower in calories and fat then haddock, cod ect.

Sister goes in the morning she has to be there at 7 am, she dropped her bag off today and we had the afternoon together.

Good Luck to your sister love, I hope everything goes ok x

Well she was delayed going in but is now in recovery thank god, I have cheated this morning but now feel like I can relax again so time to clean up and work this mornings biscuits off lol

Thanks for updating us -- I hope your sister is doing well. And isn't cheating -- it is coping and I am sure it will do little harm.

Sister is good they said the op went really well and as of this morning she isn't on oxygen or drips and is sat up having a cup of tea, will come home tomorrow as on morphine still.

Thats great news. So what can she eat now?

How are you doing as well? Ready for another push at it with me - although so far we have both never managed to complete a week together - lol :)

I'm great today first shake and one cup of tea down also half a bottle of water me and you this week can do it.

Today is broth only
Then for the next 3 days it's milkshakes smooth soups and fruit smoothies (she will only managed about 15ml) then from day 3 smooth puréed foods only as thick as custard and portions of about 2-3 tablespoons 3 times a day for 3 weeks.

Then on to half a tea plate of "soft, mushy, crispy diet" from 3 weeks to 3 months. Then normal diet of low fat/calories no more then 1000 cal a day and split to 3 tea plate sized portions.

Anything that is thick or she eats to much will make her sick, she can only have 1inch of water through a straw every hour.

So typing that out makes me think if she can manage on that we can do it hun.
