As yesterday was chill and see family today is cooking day! I'm trawling the net for recipes and going to be making a lasagne - well 2, one minced beef and one roasted veg, and then who knows what else. Doing it for ease in the week really. Just making an egg sandwich to go with my plums for breakfast before settling down with the tablet to look through food blogs. Nice fun Sunday :D

You must show us your purchases later! Xx

Breakfast... Fried egg sandwich. HexB and half HexA Kerry low low. 2 plums.

I love egg butties :) yum yum yum

Was so good, especially using low low instead of butter. Adds a real nice creamy taste to it - everything is better with cheese (and bacon).

Feel a tad bloated today, might be because I ate late and this is the first morning since Tuesday that I've not 'been'. Hmmm, maybe some more water is needed. I'm pants at remembering to drink when I'm not at work. Naughty!

Ive still not tried this low low cheese im not overly keen on cheese tbh but i do love primula cheese on crumpets and toast haha
Im same wen it comes to drinkin water i remember at work coz i hav a bottle on my bench but at home i never get thirsty!?!

I used to be rubbish but I really trained myself to drink more so now I do, before I drank less than 1litre.

Yum egg butties. I think you will really like the shecookssheeats blog. Lots of comfort food, lots of taste, little fuss. No syn values which sucks for lazy people, but it is quick enough to look up non-free food though. I was reading it last night having food envy.

I'm so good at work and just like you Em I have a bottle next to my monitor which prompts me to drink. At home I kinda forget that I need to drink.

Friday night for example I said to the boy I was 'starving' (how could that be possible after all I'd eaten during the day?!) and cooked a mass of vegetable stir fry only to get through 2/3's of it. Then I remembered - I'd not drunk a single drop since getting home. Pah.

Fran - I'm currently nose deep in about 5 blogs, 3 of which are SW ones (one is the one you recommended!) and 2 vegetarian ones. It's going to be a food for thought day aaaaaaalllll day! Xx

Other food blogs are the 2 mentioned on your diary and the veggie ones are Oh my Veggies and the chubby vegetarian. I also have a peruse over simply scratch during the week - I love that one. Just need to wait for pay day to get some special ingredients for some of the recipes as we are on a budget this month.

Currently in the oven is a roasted veg lasagne (red and orange pepper, leek, courgette, broccoli and carrot topped with HexA Kerry spread and cheddar meaning 1 HexA per serving) and a beef one (mushroom, onion, diced broccoli stalk, grated carrot, tomatoes, herbs n shiz) with cottage cheese/yogurt/egg topping. The leftover mince that wouldn't fit in the lasagne has had a can of beans added to it and I'm roasting little chunks of potato to spread on top and top with cheese for a cowboy pie / hash thing.

Right, what's next to cook up!

Oh minx, you are a cooking badass! I never batch cook as I am home all the time, but it would still make sense! Thanks for the extra food blogs. So after cooking what's the plan for the rest of today?

Erm, after cooking... Cooking dinner, eating dinner, planning meals... Do I ever stop thinking about food? Hell no! I think we have an episode of supernatural to watch later and an epsiode of Africa (the Attenborough BBC series, I love that man!). Just nice and chilled. So glad I didn't go out last night and get a hangover today, wouldn't have faced cooking other wise! Xx

Just bought something from Iceland that might interest you .
Packet of 6 part baked dinner rolls (121 cals per roll - HEXB tweak)
Packet of 4 Ciabatta rolls (149 cals per roll - HEXB + 1.5 syns tweak)
Paid £1 for both (any 2 for £1 offer). Worth a try

Iceland is the other side of town for me :( might be able to ask my bro to pop in for me though... Thanks for the tip ;) xx

And dish número 3... Mince hash / cowboy pie. Just needs the HexA of cheese chucking on when I bake it in the oven.

Now I've put dinner on.

Roast chicken
Roast potatoes, parsnips and carrot
Mashed swede
Cabbage
Brussels
Sausage meat stuffing balls 3.5 syns
Yorky pud 2 syns
Gravy 2 syns.

That's a lotta syns for one meal :D but it's probably all I'll eat for the rest of the day. When I'm batch cooking it kinda takes my appetite away, think it's because I get hot? Don't know. But I do know if I get peckish this evening I'll have the rest of my melon - just under half one - and some grapes. Both need to be eaten by tomorrow really.
