MinkyDinky said:Thanks chicky, just need to work out what sort of crumble top to make for it now I do love a crumble! Xx
Kia-Ora said:Use the oatso simple or suitable heb porridge oats, cinnamon and sweetener for ur crumble topping, tis yummy x
MinkyDinky said:Going to have to get me some oats then! I'm just having it as it is tonight, maybe a drop of ff natural yogurt. But I had a mouthful just before dinner and I forgot how gooood rhubarb is! So freaking tasty! Xx
Kia-Ora said:My father in law grows it! I stewed mine with sweetener & cinnamon and mixed it in with ff yoghurt too and also made the crumbles. Mmm must see if any of his is ready yet!!! X
Morning! Don't forget to see if u should syn the rhubarb as its stewed! Hope u have a good day xx
Rhubarb is fantastic as its low syn. 100g stewed is 1/2 syn or you can have 450g as a HexB (not sure if thats just on green days but think its all plans??) so I am in heaven!
It really is gorgeous with fat free natural yogurt stirred through, the sweet tartness of the Rhub and the creaminess of the yog - fan-bloody-tastic! Recommend to all.
Oh and check this little blurb out from Wiki :
"Rhubarb can be used as a strong laxative. Its roots have been used as a laxative for at least 5,000 years.[SUP][13][/SUP]
The roots and stems are rich in anthraquinones, such as emodin and rhein. These substances are cathartic and laxative, which explains the sporadic use of rhubarb as a dieting aid."
So win/win for me xx
Rosielea said:Surely you'd not eat 450gr of it in one go. That would keep you in the loo for a whole day.
It is a hell of a lot for a HexB but I guess spread over the day it's not so bad? I need all the help I can get in that department at the moment so I'm not complaining! xx
