Am sure this nonsense is meant to be getting better not getting worse. I've been sicker today than any other so far. So frustrated by how behind on everything I've gotten. Also really wanted to go to a little Xmas fair with my mum today and obviously couldn't.

Have given up trying to keep up calories/fats - just eating what I can keep down and staying low carb. Meats eggs and cheese turn my stomach.

Food today:

30g salt and vinegar peanuts

Mug bouillion

Courgettes with marks and Spencer's tomato and basil sauce

Mfp: 28g carbs inc meds

How awful my lovely. I've just been re reading your diary looking for your crumble recipe. You were really poorly around April/May time too, and steak was making you sick. I'm so sorry that all the Atkins staple food is making you feel nauseous today, that's very limiting. I hope things pick up soon for you xx

I remember the steak thing, that was an odd one. Ill is more or less my default state but there are things I've learned to deal with and things that take me by surprise. Let me find the crumble for you...

Oh dear hun not good! I hope u feel better tomorrow, big hugs xxx

Ah, found the crumble on p.57 - one day I'll get all these moved to my recipe thread...

Honestly I must be the only person who gains eating under 500 cals. Both on weds and yesterday I could barely eat and had between 300-500 cals. Both days the morning after I'm up 1lb.

I guess this proves I should never try Judd!

(re Judd - I follow another forum on here and a lot of its members left to try Judd, as did a lot of atkinsers. It's interesting to me to see that all the members who left that diet have now gone back to it - and if not all then 99 percent of us atkinsers have, too. I also notice a new trend on the Judd board of people doing 2 down days in a row twice a week in order to see continuing losses - something not only not recommended but I believe forbidden on the main plan. On the other hand I do know some long term Judders from other forums - just not nearly so many as atkinsers and generally with less weight lost. My mum is trying the 5:2 diet right now - she's only about 10lb overweight if that and I think it's probably a better plan than Judd, though not for quick loss, just for keeping things under control.)

But after that segue - I must admit its spectacularly annoying to eat so low and see a gain but I just can't stand the thought of food right now. I feel a bit better today perhaps down to barely eating yesterday. I'm not hungry at all, don't feel like eating...

Mum is doing some roast beef though late afternoon so I'll probably not eat until then and hope I have some appetite to eat it. I do desperately need to eat or I will make myself very ill (more ill - welcome to deficiency land).

If my stomach can deal with that I might try something with almonds in the evening to up calories. We'll see.

Anyway I know this gain isn't a real gain - its not physically possible with cals so low and carbs still under 30g as always. But how frustrating. Maybe my body is hanging on to everything possible because I'm ill.

Deffo not a real gain hun dont worry, you just need to focus on getting better :)

I tried juddd, i was desperate for it to work but it just didnt lol i lost then gained it back then stalled. I also know a few though who have done it long term and have done brilliant, Its funny how are bodies are different and what works for some doesnt for others.

I hope u manage to eat some beef :) xx

Thank you, have just stewed the rhubarb. Will do the topping when it's time for his dinner tonight, and will serve with LC custard.

Fab loss this week, ML - into the 150's, no less!! :D

Maybe my body is hanging on to everything possible because I'm ill.

Maybe, but I remember when I JUDDDed that after my last down day of <500 cals, I actually gained weight the next day - much to my disgust, I might add! - and I certainly wasn't ill. Clearly there's something at work here, some quirk of the endocrine system trying to protect us from sudden food shortage perhaps, but gawd knows what it is!

As you say, though, it cannot be a "real" gain (of fat) when you're eating so little, so it's baffling but nothing to worry about.

Hope you feel up to eating your roast beef today - that's my favourite Sunday roast, provided it's a good cut and not over done (my mum tends to nuke it until it's like shoe leather, so I hope yours doesn't, lol!)

I can only eat beef very lean and rare - mum prefers the well done shoe leather variety but she buys really nice butchers sirloin and I get the less cooked middle bits.

Hopefully I'll be able to manage a few mouthfuls. Won't have eaten in about 20 hrs by the time I have it ... Was hoping that would help my appetite but am actually feeling sick again right now. Sigh.

Diem - yes, I think 5:2 is the better plan though not for fast losses, esp not for women. Though your hubby losing 2st is very impressive. I just think that when you're doing two sets of double down days per week just to see regular loss then the diet possibly isn't the best idea, if only from a nutritional POV.

I'm actually referring to a trend on the judd forums when I talk about the double DD. I believe on 5:2 it's supposed to be ok to do the 2 days whenever - but some Judders seem to be doing 2 sets of 2 DDDs per week in order to see loss. That's what I don't think is a great idea.

I agree i think 5 2 is really good focus i enjoy that but i think i would be depressed and likely to go off the rails with juddd i bow to those who can but it just doesnt seem right to me x

Well food definitely seems to be doing me in. Thought I was feeling a bit better this morning but ate my lunch - about 21 hrs after my last meal - which I did have an appetite for once I'd started eating, and it's totally done me in. Feel at deaths door again.

Going to have to miss my meeting tomorrow. Might see if my dad can pick me up some Atkins shakes as I can't just not eat.
