Moonlights' (temporary) Maintenance

1 carb ketchup is back in stock at LCM - and of course they're sold out of nearly every davinci flavor I wanted so just got 2 ketchups and an English toffee davinci - at least it keeps my costs down.

I can never resist having a look round their site and thinking 'ooh *insert cake or biscuit here* only 3g carbs a serving...'

Yes great I could have a fake tasting, chemical and polyol filled faux food which will stall me while costing 6 times the price of anything in the normal shops - or I can knock myself up home made healthy almond cookies or cupcakes at home and not waste my time/money.

It's amazing how our own minds can try and trick us. We know that low fat frankenfood is bad for us (as they replace the healthy fat with chemicals and extra sugar) but don't apply the same logic to low carb frankenfood when in fact it's exactly the same. People making low carb biscuits aren't doing it to help low carbers stay on plan and lose weight. They want them to fail at losing weight and buy more biscuits. Very very few of the people making low carb products consider whether the product is good for us or will help us lose.

Some do. Some do. But very few.
 
I'm after Da Vinci syrups too. I asked then about it last week and they said they didn't have a date, but it would be a couple of Weeks. I might go for a different one, egg nog, if it's still in stock.
 
I'd like to try egg nog but don't want to buy a whole bottle to try it - it is still in stock though.
 
I am a fan of the egg nog, especially at night in my coffee and hot soya milk - but it is taking a while to get through it :)

I would bottle some for you both but not sure what I would send it in...
 
Made zoodle bake - zoodles, half a pot of m&s tomato and basil sauce, mozzarella and a wee bit of cheddar.

Zoodle bake looks fab, I used to love pasta bake...
 
It was really nice and you could add pizza toppings to it too for more flavor.

Trying to up my calories - had actually planned on a high calorie day but then ended up sleeping through most of it. Eating is still quite an effort.

Food:

3 quorn hot dogs with 1 carb ketchup

300g courgette noodles, 1/2 jar marks tomato/basil sauce, mozzarella and cheddar

30g salt n vinegar peanuts (to get fat/calories up)

Mfp: 29g carbs inc meds

As you can see I still can't eat meat easily. All the meat I've eaten since weds has been because it needed eating rather than because I wanted it, so taking a break now.

I bought the English toffee, lovely in coffee with splash of cream, used it in a soya protein shake too, quite yummy! Didn't realise how big the bottle is, will last for months and months. Unfortunately the maple syrup I got is full of maltitol, which I'm sure I've read on your thread ml it is not good. The maple syrup is tasty but I will use very sparingly on my flax porridge.
 
Yes maltitol is evil stuff - insanely high GI. You need to count about 75 % of the carbs in maltitol sweetened products. I'm sure a little goes a long way, though.
 
Definitely improving - finally got in a full days worth of calories!

3 quorn hot dogs in oopsie roll buns with cheese slices, spring onion and 1 carb ketchup. Delicious!

Slept for 2 hours despite sleeping for only 4 the night before and forcing myself to stay up all day... I'm fed up with my body in about 60 different ways right now.
 
Feel rubbish upon rubbish today. Huge fat and bloated, STILL not enjoying anything I eat, stomach still sensitive and uncomfortable. Sigh just not been a good week.

Food today was

Halloumi cheese + tomato

Asparagus and gruyere omelette

Flax porridge

Mfp: 25g carbs

There's just nothing I fancy to eat at the moment, nothing at all.
