Did have an ounce of nuts last night - checked with a sneaky look on the scales this morning and have dropped a teeny bit, so it doesn't look as if two days over optimum cals have done any damage (not yet anyway!). This is a very strange feeling since doing the metabolism reset. It is what happens to 'normal,' non dieting people, but to me in the past, two days over my cals even by a small amount would have usually seen a noticeable gain. I am still quite amazed that since the reset I can eat more calories and still lose weight. This seems to be backed up by the naturally lower carb nature of primal based eating, so fingers crossed for the coming months.
OH's blood sugar levels, both first thing in the morning and two hours after eating, have dropped by an average of 6-7 units (sorry can't remember exactly what the units are at the moment). They still need to come down some more, but so far so good. He has a first follow up with the nurse on Friday and she said she didn't expect to see much of a drop in his figures by then, so she could be in for a pleasant surprise!
We are both sleeping better and I have noticed a huge difference in the pain from my knee (cartilage damage after falling on to it about 2 and a half years ago), so I presume there is a connection there to the new way of eating. Could be the increased fat, less inflammation, maybe it is the dark chocolate (she said hopefully!)
