MrsV's diary

Well done for getting through the weekend mrs V! Hope the few days of FF do some good for you. x

Thanks Jaylou!
It is more difficult this time around...not sure why, as with the gastric band you would have thought the portions would be ok?! Im missing fruit though! Lol

Wishing you the best of luck with FF and your decision on reviewing your goal weight. Your hubbie has seen such a dramatic change in you and probably worried just how far it will go.....can you imagine what he see - 8 stone is a huge loss hunny and must be like having a new wife ( lucky him lol )
Perhaps set a new target and see how you feel when you get there?
xx

Thank you Loopeylou!

Ihave my weigh in this evening and even though I have avoided my scales at home this week, I feel that I have shed some pounds. My waist is smaller and my works trousers around the waist are loose (although the thighs are still there!). Why cant we loose weight from the areas that we would really like?? :)
I will report back this evening with an update on how I have done and the discussion with my Consultant.
I hope everyone is well and following the plan as they should be! It feels really odd not writing what I have eaten for the day, even though I have what Im eating even with FF!

How was your weigh in? hope all went well and a decision for future goal has been made :)
I'm feeling pretty low, losses are slow slow over the last 6-7 weeks......I do think my head is mixed up as the VLC diet I did last year has caused him issues with what I think a portion size is. I need to concentrate on eating the foods and quanties I need rather than what I think I should be having.
Think I also need to chill abit with it.....i'm either 100% on plan to the point I dont have any fun or I go off 100% when out....I wish I'd started SW originally but can't take it back I just need to find a way to go forward.
Sorry for ranting on but its just so tough sometimes.
Are your portions small because of your gastric band?
xx

Hey Hun.
I lost 3lbs this week, but thats after having done 4 days on Fast Forward. I did a VLC diet a while back and it really does screw things up, not only with your mind, but for me also my body (severely constipated and crying all the time!). A friend of mine lost her hair when following a VLC diet!
Im sorry to read that you are struggling Hun. Im going to have a look at your diary in a moment and see if there is anything I can suggest for you.
What sort of things do you do when you go out? What do you use your syns for mostly? Whilst SW say that you can bank your syns, they also state that they will not guarantee a weight loss with you doind this. Generally if Im eating out, I opt for things that I know I can have and syn the food before I go. I make sure that I stick to 15 syns....I dont drink, so I tend to have either pints of soda water or diet coke/pepsi.
Yes, my portions are smaller because of my band, but in relation to what I used to have, I can honestly say I over ate (which was the reason I opted for the band in the first place). Whilst SW plan is fantastic, the word "free food" was a challenge to me...if chicken is a speed food and you can have unlimited quantity, then I could easily polish off 2-3 whole chickens in a sitting...well its free?! I would then get on the scales and wonder why I wasnt loosing anything!
Now, there are certain foods that I do struggle to eat in large amounts...pasta, potatoes and iceberg lettuce and large bananas immediately spring to mind! There are other "squishy" foods that I can still eat though and do really well with and can still enjoy. My suggestion for portion control would be: halve what you are having on your plate. If you are still hungry after you have eaten it, then have some more. Also have a drink of water whilst you are eating.

My heart goes out to you Hun and Im definitely going to look at your diary now!

You will get through it Hun. It isnt easy I know it isnt, but just take it one day at a time and you will come out the other side wondering what it was all about!

Well, I have decided that I cant do FF for another week! I really miss having decent meals for a start! So, Im going to have today and tomorrow as the end of my FF journey...will have been a full week, but then Im going to have bacon and eggs for breakfast on Sunday!! ....and a full roast chicken meal!!! Yes, you can guess, Im starving!!! :8855:

Hi Claire,

Alzheimers is cruel isnt it? My Hubby's Grandfather has it and to see him go from a strong independant person to relying on people to get him dressed and feed him is the worse thing ever.

Thanks Hun. Im just lpeased to be off FF and eating "normal" SW food...especially strawberries!

Morning all...well Im feeling really depressed and teary and dont know why. Yesterday Daughter and I had a huge argument - she is 4  and she was really testing how far she could push...she quickly learnt it wasnt that far!
She had a rough night's sleep because of it and so did I. She came in to me at 3.00 and slept with me.
Anyway, she was as good as gold this morning and its all forgotten, but Im drained. We are both missing my Hubby/Daddy and thank goodness he is back on Thursday this week otherwise I would need to be checked into a funny farm!

My 4 year old also knows how to push my buttons. Sometimes I try to watch those SuperNanny programs for tips. Glad your OH will be back soon!

Meli..I avoid those programmes like the plague! I was a Nanny myself for 13 years and then trained in Child Psychology. I know she is acting up because her Daddy isnt around and as its my totm. We are ok, Im just a bit teary and tired...a great combination when youre a Parent eh? Lol

The last one I saw was okay...the Nanny was saying if you don't want your kids to scream, then you shouldn't explain to them not to scream (in a screaming voice); then both parents were sending different signals to their son, so she advised them to send the same message; then she focused on when to have time outs. These things I agree with. Just wondering what techniques are the ones you don't agree with (based on your experience as a Nanny).

I do agree with that one..the screaming bit. I also agree with star charts and rewarding good behaviour. I think its more to do with how I have seen parents dealing with bad behaviour more than these programmes.
I came across one parent who was very calmly telling his son not to whack his sister, which of course fuelled the situation even more..there was no consequence and no "threat" as to what would happen if he continued to do it...needless to say Sister lashed back and then she got in trouble for hitting her brother!

Hi all,

Well, I sts last night, which Im ok with. I stuck to plan 100%, but its just one of those things for me. I havent quite finished the dreaded * week either, so heres hoping that next weeks weigh in result will be different!
