My Countdown - 20 Weeks to go!

US 14 is about 39" bust, 32" waist and 43" hips.

Another day in the bag, I really hope I get a good loss tomorrow. I would be over the moon with 3lbs, seeing as the scales don't seem to have been moving all week. If I don't get 3lbs then I'll admit I am going to be gutted, but hopefully it will catch up the next week if I don't.

I sat on my baby horse today, it's naughty really as he shouldn't be ridden until he has finished growing. But I couldn't resist it, I just sat on him to see what he would do. He was very good, didn't try to kill me! lol

Here's a pic, but I look like a right heffer on him bless him. Definately need to lose weight so that I can ride him the end of the summer.

Just did a ketostix and still in ketosis.

What a beautiful horse. It looks as if it was pretty nice day in Cornwall. It was gray, then rainy here in Cambridgeshire.

Thanks, the sizes aren't usa though. They were their own sizes, a mixture of all sorts I think. It was their sizes that I translated into UK sizes, I guess because it's a wedding dress the sizing is a bit of the ordinary.

Thanks MM, he's my absolute world! He's only 2 and a half.

can u remember who you bought it off and look again at their sizes. do you have someone around a uk 14, similar/same height and build that could try it on for you.

That's a good idea! I've emailed them asking them to confirm what size i ordered.

Hmm I actually can't think of anyone who is a 14/16 to try it on. Everyone I know is dinky!

Hi Kez...

There is a book that is actually entitled Size 14 Is Not Fat! LOL

MM

I agree, I would be thrilled to be a size 14! Isn't 16 the UK average now? So why is anything above a 16 classed as plus sized? I read somebody the other day saying we don't call people below 16 minus sized.

LOL -- Let's call people less than a 16 "lesser sized" and we'll refer to ourselves as "suitably sized". ;)

Haha! Love it!

:( i'm now lesser sized. not fair :(:(

mind my cdc said that in the area i live most people are overweight... that's the norm. she said i'm classed as slim.

i'm a 12/14 but i'm still unhappy and want to be thinner. blinking hard to say ENOUGH! i'm fine.

You should be proud of what you've achieved nikki! If you aren't happy that size then lose more, but for yourself. You no longer need to be doing it to be slim! You've already conquered that!

@Great Things -- "Present Company Excluded" we shall refer to you as "formerlly suitably sized"

:D LIKE!

i am pleased with what i've done kez. just it's hard to let go now and say enough is enough. i've got 3lb to my 2nd goal then where will it stop? will i say right another 7lb etc. i feel fab. i have a few areas where i'm not happy but apart from surgery it's not going to change me. i'll just get bonier. i'm not in bad shape having been mega lardy sorry mega suitably sized in my life (22st and a size 28) and having had 2 kids plus loosing and gaining a few times too. just wish i didn't have these dodgy areas as it's affecting my body image of myself.

my top legs wobble when i wear shorts at the gym and ride up - excess skin problem. i can clench my muscles and i still wobble. to shave my upper legs i have to grab my skin and move it around :(

my top isn't as small as i want it and i buldge out of my bra/sports bra when tighter - excess skin problem. nothing i can do about it but chop it off.

wobbly tum probs, i can get hold of the excess skin and wobble it around in a 'dance' this makes hubby laugh now - excess skin, it's stretched.

top of arms are thin but i have excess skin left there.

these are my issues but they won't go by loosing more weight. i suppose no one is perfect. not even hollywood stars.

Nobody is perfect! I do worry what I am going to be like if I ever manage to lose this weight. I have incredible bad stretchmark, all over my stomach and sides. Some off them are a cm across.

Still if I ever get to a happy weight and maintain then I'll have my kids and have a tummy tuck!

My sister in law is a size 8, always has been but she has never managed to shift her baby belly. She even spent 6 months using slendertone and doing 200 sit ups a day!

Being able to accept your floors makes you a happier person!

@Great Things -- I have a friend here in Cambridgeshire who had a gastric band fitted on the NHS, then had a tummy tuck, and is now have a reworking of the tummy tuck and some liposuction to remove "love handles" and all of this on the NHS. Her doctor did not think that the consultants would agree to the reworking of the TT, but the scar is irriatated by her jeans zipper and I guess there is still problem areas that weren't sorted with the first surgery, so they going to do it again.

Have you considered working your doctor to get a referral. If you have lost the weight and kept it off over a year -- stayed under a bmi of 25 -- I think you meet the criteria. There is surgery after weight loss forum that you can find the link for on this forum.

I am going to have a TT or a mini-TT once I have gotten back to bmi of under 25 and exercised for year. If once I've done that -- if I am still unhappy with my stomach (I had a 10lb 2 oz baby in 1999) -- then my DH said that we'd fund it ourselves (if the NHS or our private insurance won't pay).

MM

i had a abdomioplasty in 2004. i had lost loads from the 22st mark down to 13st and i funded it myself as i was getting married the following year. they cut off 4lbs of excess skin. it needed tweaking afterwards but i decided to do the kids then have it tweaked. i suppose i just need to get some dosh together again to do it. just i've got a busier life now with running and entering events and my kids are there as well as a really busy hubby. before when i had it done it was just me and hubby (hubby to be back then). he wasn't as busy at work and i had the time to recover. it means no running for 6 months although i can go back to the gym for some easy workouts. i was back at the gym and driving 3 weeks after op.

i would love a whole body workover and get these bits sorted.

i suppose i'll settle for not being perfect at the end of the day. mind the one area i would really really really love doing and bothers me the most out of it all are my bra bulges. it's so noticable when wearing certain tops and can show through dresses. tummy i can pull in a bit with tights, i don't have to wear shorts at the gym etc. my boobs are a bit saggy too but i think it's not only weight loss that has contributed to this.

p.s i recon i have around 2lb excess skin on my tummy now so not massively big, i think about 1lb on my legs and 1lb on my arms with the bra bulges - so around 4lb of excess skin around my body. just serves me right for letting myself be overweight for most of my life. it's a lesson well learned and i hope to save my kids from my mistakes if at all possible.
