My Diary...

Great to hear you sounding more positive hon :) I imagine you feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

Just be aware if you are exercising of your protein intake... a glass of milk after a session could be a good idea.

wonderfully positive leeds. :)

so, lost some of the pounds gained last week but it really was a manic week and this week i am again eating healthy and exercising. I have such a HUGE pull to come back to CD but am not ready yet, I need to sort out work properly (am off sick atm and need to decide what to do) and need to sort myself out. I am trying to learn portion control as i know that is one my failings. at least with cd every product is just right and cannot be added to. hope you are all doing ok.

:D -3lb leeds, brill. you lost what i gained this week. :D we had xmas day on saturday so loads to eat and drink so +3 for me isn't too bad.

hi nikki, so lovely to hear from you. glad you enjoyed your xmas day and surprised you only gained 3lbs. the exercise has REALLY been helping my mood. i hate doing it but once i start i feel great and it makes ALL the difference to my day. Im starting zumba soon too just to mix it up.

yes, have been healthy eating ish although i would say its more portion control. eating normally but with half of what i would normally eat and lots of bulking up with veg and salads. i dont stress about it as i just have whatever i am cooking so no counting or weighing or checking i have the right foods in. i cook healthy for the kids anyway so its not too bad. Im also trying to work out when i NEED to eat and when I need to COMFORT eat. hoping to be back on cd soon and glad to hear you are doing ok.

do you watch 'losing it with jillian'? Its really good and a great motivator. the uk BL is so crap, i hope angie goes as i saw this week that she has been cheating???

Hey hon

you sound so much brighter! Am really going to try and follow your lead with the exercise thing.. have dug out my pac-a-mac so if it's raining I'll still go out.

As for the portion size my sister was told a useful tip by her dietician and now she has all the family doing it. Apparently dinner plates have grown by about 4cm diameter over the last 20 years and we tend to fill the plates as we eat initially with our eyes; the dietician recommended she start using side plates instead for dinners etc and it really does make a difference because you do have a "full" plate

The other tip she gave was the "hand rule".. your carbs should be the size of your closed fist (kids portion is their fist etc), your protein the size of your palm (without fingers) and your veg/salad the whole open palm (fleshy bit and fingers)

zumba is amazing. i did it tonight. you'll love it. i'm doing it mon, tues, wed, thur and looking for a fri, sat and sunday class then i'll be sorted lol :D

And to finish this off.....the fat content should be the size of your thumb nail (butter, marg, mayo etc)

haha! thanks for the tips everyone.

im still in shock reading that nikki does zumba about 5 times a week!!! how the hell are you NOT 7 stone woman??????

Hey hon

Have PMd you .. hope you get it

x

i don't do it 5 times a week leeds :D i'd like to though :D:D

i am doing 3 times and it will be 4 times next week. today it was core, 3.25 miles running and then an hours zumba. i don't know why i struggle with my weight i burnt almost 1000 cals :)

pm'd you too, again :D

thank you both for the emails. I went for a long long walk today and it helped. am also still watching what i eat and trying portion control and havent gained much. miss CD a lot and cant believe i am itching to get back to it, but trying to sort my head space out first.

am also going to order the zumba wii which comes out next month. need to up the exercise to daily as its the best thing for sorting my head out.

i wish that you lived really close to me as i'd get you out to these classes :D:D i'd also help sort your head out.

oh nikki i would love to live nearer to you! your enthusiasm is rubbing off on me and i am more active. I have decided to retsrt my cd today, didnt plan to for another week and wanted half term over and done with. but know i will over eat during half term as i have so much planned with the kids and if i start now i can do some damage limitation and be prepared for my proper start next week. i have loved my 3 weeks off and have surprised myself by not gaining anything other than some glycogen weight. wish me luck as i know its going to be a hard day. will report back soon!

you'll be fine. what about doing the 810 for the week as you'll be able to enjoy a small meal of a night and it'll be a good way into ketosis for next week? that way you can enjoy a little more activity too.

i think i am doing 810. i'm having shakes sometimes but its half term and that means loads of activities and food!!! am trying to stick to some kind of routine though so am having a shake for brekkie, one for lunch and a light meal at night (low carb). from next week its full speed ahead until mid march.

Hi Leeds! Just wanted to pop in and see how you were doing. Sounds like you are doing really well, especially with the kids being home for half term! I think the 810 plan is really good.
Hope you have a good day. :D

things going kinda ok. half term was MANIC. and didnt manage to stick to cd but still doing my portion control. i ate what i wanted but i find that drinking two large of cups of water before dinner automatically makes me fuller so my portion control is under control. and another 2 glasses of water after dinner keep me full until bedtime. so still no real gain since i stopped cd and i am happy with that. still trying to sort out a lot of work stuff and personal stuff and still read your diaries and thank you for visiting mine!
