Good morning all.
I had a busy weekend hunting and going around the farmshops. Lots of good seasonal stuff to be had. Yum.
The weather is absolutely sweltering here. My dogs just want to sleep all the time at the moment. I'm having to water the garden in the evenings and having to keep an eye on the veg in this heat.
My jeans are getting looser again so I'm very happy.
Spent this morning battling the weeds. Then took the dogs out for a long ramble around the countryside. Lots of elderberries on their way along with wild plums and cherries. The rosehips are nearly ripe in some places too. So, lots of wine making to be done soon I think.
Oh Leanne you should offer a course on making wine and other yummies from exotic easy to find stuff! I'd sign up!!!!! What's a wild plum though? Never heard of it.
We've got 36 degrees today and I've got the cold from hell courtesy of my darling daughter. I feel rough, rough, rough!
Awww, sorry to hear you are ill. It's horrible to be ill when it is so hot and uncomfortable.
Wild plums are smaller than "normal" plums and are yellow and red. Very sweet and great for wine making.
I think Leanne should offer foraging courses for a living, I'd join one we did some in the Army, survival courses they were called, but they were always up in remote Scots isles where very little grew or lived. Oh and the midges were a nightmare, I never truly understood the term "Bitten to Death" until i went there.
