Yep im back on the wagon and from the scales today and yesterday i havent gained.. with a bit of luck i might have lost a couple of pounds by the end of this week.. will have been 6 days TS by next WI....

Heres hoping anyways xx

Have had 2 litres of water so far as ive been really slacking with that just lately... so im aiming for 3 litres a day now for the rest of the week xx
 
Well judging by my breath im back in Keto heaven... have glugged 2L of water already and have filled up another 2L bottle to have by the end of the day... Have to have it at room temp for some reason...
Have had a really busy morning spring cleaning spare room and got rid of loads of clothes that are never going on my new smaller me ever again... If i aint got em i cant grow back into them!!! I have hoovered the house to within an inch of its life so ive burned lots of calories hopefully...
Bowels seem to be very uncooperative last few days so hopefully the water intake might help.. TMI i know lol...
Have devised a plan to keep me off the scales too.. Pint of water by the bed to drink before im allowing myself up defo done the trick today .... cos i know it causes a gain and no one wants to see that on the scales...

Gonna try really hard not to scale hop at all for the rest of thie week till mondays official WI...

Right after a visit to the docs im in a quandry.

I have to take some real bad boy meds for my spinal probs...

last few weeks my back has been dreadful especially in the morning..

Went to see my doc for a drug review this morn (he is pro VLCD).

He thinks that i may not be absorbing my meds properly due to lack of food in my digestive system..( one of my main pain killers is a slow release tablet that he thinks is not sitting in my tummy long enough to work properly) he doesnt think its due to the lack of calories but does think it may be due to lack of food bulk.. ie salad/veg etc...

he is also not very happy about my bowels.... the meds i take really bind me up so i have a repeat script for mild laxatives to keep me regular.. Add into the mix the Exante constipation effect and im really struggling ...

Anyway he has advised me to not give up with the diet but he does think that at the moment its doing me more harm than good and that i need to get my digestive sytem working properly again to see if that helps with my meds before he refers me back for MRI's etc... in case pain is due to more probs with my discs.. (ive already had 2 ops and wallis devices fitted ...any nurses out there will know what they are)

basicly he is telling me to do WS (even though he dont know there is such a thing lol) cos he said i should introduce a small piece of meat/fish with lots of veg/salad as the calories are negligable but the bulk of the veg etc will help with the absorbing of my meds and movement in my bowels...

He is so lovely my doctor and i do trust him implicitly ... He said it was up to me what i decide to do but i am thinking he is absolutely right...

He said our bodies crave what they need and i am craving veg and salad (not choc n biccies etc i have no interest in them) and i almost dribbled over the cooked chicken when i was buying milk yesterday.....

So i think i dont really have much choice but to try WS for at least a week to see if it helps..He even gave me a script for xenical to help me make good food choices for adding the meal in (and i never asked)..

Sorry for my rambling post but writing it down has made it clearer in my mind and has helped me see that it makes sense xxxxx

Your health must come first, really hope you manage to incorporate some veg successfully x
 
Hi I have rheumatoid so know exactly where you are coming from, I ran this past my dr before I started because I was unsure of effects on meds etc.,
He had never heard of exante but had had people on lighter life and said that he had a patient who had kidney failure on that diet, so he suggested I do ws as well.
Yes the weight loss slightly slower, but it helps with the light headedness! And sickly feeling :( so I now do 4 days TS and 3 ws, this works great for me.

Do what's good for you, that's what I say and this is a lifetime change for me so I want to be happy in all situations.
I don't find this hard now I have my routine!

What a fab GP you have! I am inclined to agree with his decision about absorption and a little food will keep it in your gut longer and might give you more motility for your bowels.
Best to get the pain under control even if the weight comes off slower at least it comes off :)

Ive been on it all weekend... i feel much better already...loads less pain , not so tired all the time and my bowels are soooo much better!!! The scales went up the first 2 days but are going back down again...

Tues and weds were just bad days for me food wise... so Friday was like a WS restart i suppose...

I think WS is going to be the way forward for me .... definately for the foreseeable future... My losses other than the first weeks when i do TS are not brilliant ....id rather lose 2lb a week on WS feeling healthy and pain free ish than 3lb if im lucky on TS...

Im hoping that now i feel less tired i will be more able to get back on my treadmill ..

Hi everyone... well i have to admit last week was a complete fail for me!!! was good here and there and bad for the rest.... have decided i totally deserve the 5lb gain ... but i also know its onlt the glycogen stores gone back so a good week of WS will see that gone again...

Today i weighed in at 13.11 and will use that as my starting point for WS restart....

Hope everyone else had a better week than me... heres to this week being a good one for me.. gotta keep chipping away at the lard...

gonna be putting my big red gain post on after this one lol... actually i might make it blue so i know it was a gain ......

My doc thought it best to add some food cos of my meds...Ive had a real good think about the whole VLCD thing over the weekend Gill and have come to the conclusion that WS is probably the best way forward for me ... im good at limiting what foods i eat as im not a binge eater... So im gonna be doing my own version of WS / SW

Wont be having 3 packs a day as i want to see if i can introduce healthy food choices into my daily eating plan...

I have become really doubtful of the slow losses i had too when i was completely 100% TS ... no solid food for 2 weeks (weeks 2 and 3) and only a 6lb combined loss... I have had the same losses doing SW and extra walking... And not been completely denied any real food... I was miserable and had very little social life on TS... i should have realised this is how i felt the first time i ever did Exante.. Im a social girlie and like to go out for lunch etc with my friends... coffee and a salad is not unhealthy but if i had that on a TS day it made me feel like a huge failure.

How can eating healthy foods in the right amounts be classed as a failure???Thats not a healthy way for me to look at food..

Im not saying VLCD diets are bad as i know they are great for some people who have large amounts of weight to lose... I have done the hard part and shed over 8st (only 6 of that was when banded) so i have come to the realisation that i should stop trying to shed the pounds ASAP and look at the bigger picture for me and get into a healthy routine with my daily diet..

No more quick fixes ... Thinking its ok to do very little physical activity cos i feel lethargic and am in pain is , in my mind , not a good choice for me anymore.

So i am gonna be honest and keep a completely true food diary within this diary of what i have eaten everyday so i can keep tabs on what im putting in my mouth...

The only real thing i love about having done the VCLD is that i dont want big portions as my tummy objects to them now lol....

There will only be carbs in my diet from the veg/salad.. i have decided to completely ban some foods to keep it very low carb as i know that works for me in any diet i do...

So im sorry bread,pasta.rice and potatoes but ya not on the list so ya not allowed in lol xxx

Hiya Ali... i feel soo much better already ... And i will defo be posting in my diary still.. It might get a bit food pornish at times ..
cos im keeping a food diary in here too so i can see what i ate and what the losses were eating certain food etc..

I am still having an exante shake for breakfast as i have never been a great lover of food before 12pm so its a good way for me to get the hit of vitimins and that.

gonna update my food intake in its own post...in a different colour font etc so people can just dodge straight past it and not have to read about food if they are bothered by it... Im gonna keep in the exante part of the forum and not move as i like it here and am using the product still..

Just doing it with a low carb WS twist if ya like lol... hope your still firmly on the wagon xxxx
