My SW diary, by Bess.

Such relief!! My morning scale jump revealed that the extra 4 lbs has gone again - phew, it must have been the Chinese meal - you were right Alli. So 13.10 today, but I shan't alter my stats until next Tuesday, my 'official' WI day.

In a way I'm glad this happened, it gave me the shove I needed to get on with SW properly again. Have been looking through my recipe books and after a work meeting this afternoon shall go shopping. Chicken and cous cous with roasted vegetables tonight I think. Something with salmon tomorrow. Lots more fat free yogs and fruit. :)

Fabulous hun, the chinese is always a big gain on the scale for me too, so yup that was it!
well done for getting back on the wagon, good work on planning ahead hun, it really does help!

have a lovely day
xx

Bess - it's always chinese that makes me bloat too - it's the rice! I'm sure there are fairies in it that enjoy hanging onto any passing water.

I think Mel said something about shaking it up a bit. Are you doing EE? I found my weight loss was VERY slow on EE (like just half or quarter of a pound a week). Now for me to say slow thats a laugh as I only lose an everage of a pound a week most of the time.

Anyway, what I'm getting at is maybe have a go at a few red days. These work the best for me. You can have a reasonable sized baked spud on a red day although other carbs are limited - but they do help shift a few pounds extra!

Keep smiling hun. We've all been there. And have patience - I'm the queen of patience. It's been a long haul for me but by being stubborn and ignoring the odd gain I'm getting there. You can do it too!

Thanks Bev, yes I'm doing EE, but maybe you're right - a shake up may be in order, will check out the Red and Green day rules. :)

And food today:

B: chopped apple and banana with fat free yog.

L: Fish sticks, cold chicken, apple, Alpen light bar (1/2 HexB) Quavers (5.5 syns)

Strawberries, Pineapple. Dime Bar - can't remember who make this so can't find the syns in my directory - Alli, can you tell me please?

S: Bulgar wheat, chicken cooked with ginger, red onion, chilli. Salad of rocket, peppers, plum tomatoes. Red wine (6 syns) So that's 11.5 syns + the Dime bar....here's hoping that it's only 3.5 syns then :fingerscrossed: Hmm...no HexA there. Perhaps I'll make cocoa with soya milk, splenda and cocoa powder later instead of my usual yummy hot choc 2 syn drink. (Didn't bother.)

Glad I'm getting back on track, why didn't I do this all the time while I was on holiday? Silly me.

And today:

B: Omelette with a little grated parmesan, mushrooms. Fat free yog.

Pineapple, strawberries, Alpen light bar.(1/2 Hex B)

L: Salad, fish sticks, cottage cheese, fat free yog. Baked crisps 5 syns.

Apple and 2 baby bel lights. (Hex A)

S: Spag bol, salad. 1/2 glass red wine - 3 syns.

Later hot choc drink 2 syns and the other 1/2 of the HexB, another Alpen light.

8 syns in total which will take care of the Dime bar yesterday. 10 if I have the hot choc drink. :)

Scales read a 1lb less again today. :)

Yay, well done you Bess. Glad to see the scales are showing results already. Just remember though that this is a plan for life and the scales may well show slower losses but as long as you are eating healthily and well and enjoying your food, then things will go in the right direction no matter how long it takes.

Thanks for the encouragement and wise words, Jules and Gail. :) Hope your holiday is great, does your trip include Disney Land?
13.9 today, I'm only recording this here instead of writing it down, still shan't count properly unitl my WI day on Tuesdays.

Dime Bar - can't remember who make this so can't find the syns in my directory - Alli, can you tell me please?

LOL -- what makes you think Alli would have any idea of the syns in a Dime bar? ;)

Mel

P.S. You food choices look great -- except for Pineapple did you miss all the posts about how bad it is for you teeth? ;)

Umm, yes, I didn't see any . I've been eating fresh pinapple for years and have good teeth. Apart from the apocryphal tale of the sailors marooned on a desert island who
ate nothing but pineapples and lost all theirs due to their gums perishing, I didn't know it was bad. In fact it's just brilliant if you have a sore throat - gets rid of it in no time! Fruit juice (of all kinds) I know is best drunk through a straw and of course not at all by anyone wanting to lose weight.....

I'd thrown the Dime bar wrapper away so I can't remember who makes them to look them up in the directory - I hoped that Alli might know, but I don't think she's seen the message. Still, all over now and yummy with it!

Not silly - you just had a good holiday.

. . . Apart from the apocryphal tale of the sailors marooned on a desert island who ate nothing but pineapples and lost all theirs due to their gums perishing . . .
The enzyme in pineapple breaks down protein - hence the gums. But you have to eat serious quantities for this to happen!

Bloomin' red wine........
